***UPDATE: SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED! We will be releasing the recorded AMA very soon.***

How auspicious and appropriate that the very same week we discussed the turn of the millennium we also hit 2,000 paid Patreon subscribers! That's way more than the last time we did one of these, and a lot has changed since then, so we're fielding your questions yet again. Ask us anything and we will answer your questions on a Patreon-exclusive bobus episode soon.

Please submit your questions in the comments below this post, or if you'd like to hear your own voice read the question out, you can call the hotline at ‪(347) 857-9523‬ and leave a message (KEEP IT BRIEF PLEASE). Once we've gotten enough submissions, we'll update this post to note when submissions are closed.

Finally, as is tradition, a poll for engagement:

What was your favorite episode of the past few weeks?

This is for all 3 of you: if you were given full reign to revive a Broadway musical, what show would you revive and what are some of the choices you would make?

David Fisher

This is a question for the community: I'm interested in 'Adventures in Odyssey' but the backlog is daunting. Where should I start?

Myerk Lamb

I was 15 years old when we entered the new millennium, and I spent it with our youth group at a local theme park. We rode roller coasters and played mini golf and had a pretty groovy time. I also remember that we forced our youth pastor to tune in to a local radio station that had decided to play the Venga Boys We Like to Party for 24 hours straight heading into the new year. The van ride was probably 45 minutes long and I remember everyone being really hyped to listen to this song over and over again. That said, what are your thoughts on We Like to Party by the Venga Boys?

Zipzapzop

Favourite animated films?

The Worst of All Possible Worlds

if you’re talking about whit’s endless summer, we usually recommend starting with 129 blackgaard begins; the opening framing device also serves as an explanation of what the world of the show is all about. if you mean adventures in odyssey itself… don’t

MagicalMarvo

You step into an elevator with none other than the good Doc Dob himself. This is your chance to pitch your very own Christian Entertainment Program (CEP) and make it big in the industry. My question is, what is your elevator pitch?

MagicalMarvo

Follow up question: why did I ever decide to do this?? (horse sounds)

JGE

How do you approach structuring an escape room to tie the plot and puzzles together? How do you write for a budget?

Jacob Serafin

Best advice for getting over a bad break up

Sarah Hewitt

For all three of you: if you could live through the events of any episode of Adventures in Odyssey, imagination station style, which episode would you pick? And, obvious follow up, which Odyssey character would you fuck? Human adults only, AJ is not allowed to pick Tom Riley’s horse Rachel (or Leah, but nobody is gonna pick Leah lol).

JGE

Fun fact: Dark Dungeons from Zombie Orpheus Entertainment, a parody of the Chick tract from the D&D satanic panic, is somehow an officially licensed adaptation of the tract because Jack Chick just offered the rights for free when contacted.

Evelyn Miner

What's a self-indulgent episode you'd love to do but the others probably wouldn't agree to (perhaps thinking it wouldn't make a good episode or they wouldn't have anything to say)?

Andrew Acebo

I finally smashed enough adventures in Odyssey cassette tapes to find the golden tape. Where are the rest of Phil Loler's horcruxes?

David Fisher

Oh there's no chance I'd venture into that dark pit without a guide, I meant Whit's Endless Summer. Thank you for the pointer!

Korax

In the Gerbert episode, Brian made an off-hand comment about a Deathscythe gunpla. Are any of you gunpla (or any sort of modeling) enjoyers, and if so, do you have any favorite builds/kits?

Henry Bish

What is the editorial process for deciding what gets cut from an episode?

Dergon

1. How has your life situation changed since the last Q and A? How does it compare to where you thought you'd be when graduating college? 2. Has Josh played Fallen Aces yet? Immersive Sim about murdering goons. 3. Not a question but Noah Caldwell-Gervais would be an amazing guest for a game episode!

S-lappin

What is each hosts "game of the year"? ( Including games not released in the year 2024 but played for the first time )

Adi

Will there be more twoapw merch? If not, how do you recommend I put cool voltaire on my body in a semi- to largely-permanent way

Jakob Lichtenfeld

If you could add one movie to the Criterion Collection what would it be and why?

Harry

What's the gangs favourite musicals?

P.A.L.

Hard to pick a "favourite" as you've had some really good ones. Going with It's a Wonderful Life cause it was a perfectly joyful episode at a time in the year when I needed it.

P.A.L.

That works. Recently sent it on to a friend who listened to Adventures in Odyssey as a child (I didn't) and she's slowly working her way through. Had to explain the AJ plot to her though which was fun.

Paula Sulpice

For AJ: As someone who grew up in an Evangelical home-schooling family, it has been fascinating to hear someone from outside that background do a sustained deep dive into things that were household names for me growing up (AIO, Frank Peretti, CS Lewis, Kirk Cameron). I am curious, what has been the broad trend from across your evangelical media exploration you have found the most surprising?

Daisy Morrigan Spade

Nostalgia critic was incredibly fun for me to listen too I find the angry internet reviewer craze incredibly fascinating

Leo Curtis

This is probably a very boring question, but do you each have a dream episode and guest combo (achievable or not)? I think one of mine would be an episode on Walt Disney and/or specifically Disneyland, with Jenny Nicholson as a guest. That's some "decline of a modern empire" shit right there!

Emma

As an ex evangelical I love the episodes where you do the big hit Christian novels. Did any of you ever encounter the mark of the lion series? Me and my friends were obsessed with it when I was a teenager but looking back it had many problematic themes: https://www.amazon.com.au/Mark-Lion-F-Rivers/dp/0842339523

Josephine

For all the boys first off love the show it allows me to look across the pond and get a little bit enlightened on what the fuck is going on over there. Secondly seeing as American pro wrestling is a fairly significant artifiact of culture that has kept the problem that we are dealing with today in the public consciousness when they otherwise wouldn't have, firstly do you enjoy it? Also do you have a favourite wrestler of the past or present from any promotion?

Izzy Gil

have any of you seen the off broadway show teeth and if so, what were your thoughts on it. It dealt with a lot about evangelicals..

Felix

I know there was a Fancy Movie Time episode on Mulholland Drive, but I'd wonder if the three of you have any thoughts about David Lynch and his filmography, in light of his recent passing.

A Shade In Shades

At what moment in your lives did you realise you were in fact living in the worst of all possible worlds? A recent-ish episode I really enjoyed was Silent Hill 2 despite not having played the game. Ayesha was a fantastic guest and the whole episode felt very personal. Also, with your theatrical backgrounds I would love to see you cover the 2022 fmv driven video game Immortality.

Wyatt Yankus

How does Brian decide which episodes to cover for Whit's Endless Summer?

Förfäders spår

For Josh (and the others if you have an answer ready): favourite NY subway line and rolling stock type? For all of you: what age were you when you first took a train in regular service (so excluding things like the train at Disneyland or airport people movers), and have you ever done so regularly outside the NY subway?

Léandre

You have unlimited money to put on an existing play or musical on Bway: what show are you doing, and whats the pitch?

Jorg2 - the one who slips FTL a tenner

Taking bits too far is one of the core components of the pod, but what bit do you guys think you didn't take far enough? What bit would you like to spin off into its own media franchise?

Leigh Seward

Are there any topics that you at one point had wanted to cover, but decided against for whatever reason as the pod developed?

Cariad Keigher

Is there a Broadway play you'd like to do an episode on but due to some sort of circumstance it is unlikely to ever be done?

Magpie

Do you have a process for deciding what an episode's interstitial is going to be? And how far in advance are or were the Whit's Endless Summer interstitials mapped out?

Jakob Lichtenfeld

What video game companion character would you want following you around in real life?

Trevor Seyfried

It seems like Josh can read an entire book in between episodes. How fast can he read and how did he learn to do that? Also, what happened to Avril Lavigne?

seedmunch

Any chance we have more coverage of albums coming up? Loved the DC Talk episode, would be fun to hear you talk about the random conservatism in lots of "secular" pop and rap

Léandre

Brian (and AJ,so far): favorite MASH episode, or generally series highlights?

James Cézanne-Taipale

Will Eleanor Janega ever guest on this show or has her anti-Voltaire stance made her persona non grata?

-Think of Something Better

Is there any Christian media (or Christian adjacent media) that resonated with you when you first encountered it that now you find gross or have complicated feelings about? Like, I really loved the sci-fi novel, The Sparrow, when I first read it. However, after learning about the author and her intent with the book (pro Columbus propaganda) I kinda feel as if what I liked about the book was just me projecting better ideas onto it.
