In the celestial realm of Mount Kailash, Ganesh, the elephant-headed god of wisdom, found himself captivated by the radiant beauty of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Despite his usual focus on knowledge and removing obstacles, Ganesh couldn't help but be drawn to Lakshmi's warm smile and kind heart. As they worked together to bless devotees, their bond grew stronger, transcending their divine duties. Lakshmi, impressed by Ganesh's intelligence and gentle nature, began to see him in a new light. Their love blossomed like a lotus in a sacred pond, bringing joy to the heavens and inspiring mortals to seek both wisdom and abundance in their lives. The union of Ganesh and Lakshmi became a symbol of the perfect balance between intellect and prosperity, reminding all that true wealth comes from both the mind and the heart.

Lakshmi and Ganesh are both children of Durga. At least in Bengali tradition, Durga has two daughters and two sons—Sarasvati, Lakshmi, Ganesh, and Karttik.

Oh, now I understand. I think outside of Bengali tradition. They have a mother-son relationship. Or more specifically aunt. Considering Ganesh is Parvati's son.
