Version 1.1 - Progress report - Week 10 (Patreon)
Content
Tenth (!!!) progress report for the dev state of Goth Gasp. This one is a long one because I didn't sleep for 5 days. TLDR - You'll be VERY satisfied with 1.1.
You know these moment when you don't want to something so so so so much that you find yourself something else to do just to not do the initial thing? I was meant to start shooting the scenes on monday, instead i created, designed and coded whole ahh achievement system with unlockable achievements for both versions of the game.I guess win win?So, like some of you know, my friend was at my house last weekend helping me with the code.-We coded a working gallery menu where you can replay all H-scenes that you unlocked.-We worked on the code for the day time system and build the map code base.
After he left I went to work a bit on version 1.0 to add some minor changes to cater to all the feedback I got.And by "work a bit" I mean -I redesigned most of the choices in 1.0, made them matter more and added few bonus scenes that play only when you pick specific choice options.-I added around 12 achievements that you can unlock in version 1.0 -I added a "skip lesbian h-scene" button at the beginning of the game for people who are not into it. It skips the sex and few overly flirtacious lines between Jade and Noe without skipping the whole side plot that they have which is important. I think everybody will be happy now. -I added more interactivity to the game by adding moments where you need to enter places or pick up the phones etc. Makes the game feel more like a game not just a story and I will expand on this feature in the next versions.-Mostly fixed typos. I think. I hope.
I Designed few recurring interiors for version 1.1 onwards:-The new office, with few rooms inside it. Which will be the main HQ for our protagonists!-City streets and buildings around the office.-🟣🟤New house for Mia and Mc-🟡Suzzie's flat-🔵Yumi's room-🔴Painting class, Pool, pool lockers
I found out how to turn off the pink-ish glow that's been present on all characters hair in studio and oh goooooooood the scene are looking 10 times better. Before that the scenes only looked 2 times better, because i added modded lights setting for my scenes. Overall you can expect the game-look upgrade.
I ALSO ADDED ROLLBACK <3aaaand redesigned most of the game's design elements to be more cohesive and in the same style.
Lastly - About the map and day-time system:I'm not sure how to implement it to the game because as of now, my writing is very much linear. I like creating a story that makes you feel immersed into the flow of the story and i feel that adding a map powered free-roam could completely destroy the flow of the game's storyline which is (for me at least) the most important thing in my game.I will think about how to implement the map without breaking my vision for the game and will lean more into the topic while creating version 1.2. While right now i will focus more on semi open sections of the story where you can explore some larger areas without breaking the flow. Best bet as of now is giving a player access to the map and explorable side-content areas AFTER every version's main story. Which is probably the best idea since 1- i can write my story linear like i want, and 2- You get more content since the map needs to have it's own content as well. So this is probably what i will aim towards. A win win for everybody I think.Since the map design and code are finished - 1.1 will most likely have some map teaser showing off what the map will bring in the future.Okay i think that's all from this looong week. Rn, I am on my 4th coffee today and I'm nearing to finish 1/5th of the scene shots.Wish me luck so i can deliver the game as soon as possible!~FrostMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
