Hey everyone! A few of the wonderful supporters playing on Android mentioned that the dialogue window (the white gradient bar at the bottom) can make it difficult to see the full character art.

I want to make sure the visual novels are easy to enjoy across all devices, so I’d love your input on how to handle this.

Having that white background is important so the text is easily readable no matter what background image or color combination is on the screen, but I understand wanting an unobstructed view of the art.

Tell me what you think is the best solution:

A dedicated "Hide" button should do the trick, or i have found other possibilities to implement this on Android like to press H on PC. Maybe these 2 Options are something to think about: 1. Using a touch gesture (e.g., tapping the right side of the screen) LIKE THIS: screen toggle_ui(): if renpy.android: # Button that shows and hides the UI button: area (config.screen_width - 100, 0, 100, 100) action Function(toggle_ui_state) text “UI” size 20 init python: ui_visible = True def toggle_ui_state(): global ui_visible if ui_visible: renpy.hide(“ui_overlay”) renpy.hide(“top_right_icon”) else: renpy.show(“ui_overlay”) renpy.show(“top_right_icon”) ui_visible = not ui_visible Replace “ui_overlay” and “top_right_icon” with the actual names of your screen elements or layers. 2. via long press on the text field LIKE THIS: screen long_press_ui(): if renpy.android: button: area (0, 0, config.screen_width, config.screen_height) action LongPress(Function(toggle_ui_state)) init python: def toggle_ui_state(): global ui_visible if ui_visible: renpy.hide(“ui_overlay”) renpy.hide(“top_right_icon”) else: renpy.show(“ui_overlay”) renpy.show(“top_right_icon”) ui_visible = not ui_visible The layer names (ui_overlay, top_right_icon) must match the names of your screens or layers.
