✿ custom qipao journey part 2 ✿ (Patreon)

Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone has been doing well~ I've been working on finalizing my qiapo print and I'm excited to share my progress on the pankou design and print process! :-)

After getting feedback from the pankou designer, I changed the leaf shape to a bow. The neck collar piece is made of 3 pankou pieces which will be sewn together and I'll be placing a chinese knot piece on top of the bow shape! 

We also went through some sourcing to figure out what bead would work best for the bottom bunny pankou! Annie sent me some options and I went for the bead that most matched my CHERRY earrings!

We had another revision for the collar pankou because the silhouette wasn't doable, so the bunny ear needed to be sectioned off. I got sent fabric color swatches to confirm for the pankou, and here is a look at the physical product! The pieces still need to be sewn together but overall I'm so happy with how it turned out! The bottom bunny pankou is still a work in progress~

Here is a look at the first pass sketch from last week and the sample print! After sending this in, I went back and cleaned up my print design and adjusted the colors so the red was more orange to match my cherry beads~

For the final pattern, I did some test prints at different scales to see which size I liked best!

I thought the riso texture I had looked too gritty upon printing, so I scaled it down to make the texture more fine and grainy.
