Game Dev News! (Patreon)

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’ve been learning and working on how to make games in Godot, and honestly, I think I’ve improved a lot in that short time!
Right now I’m working on two projects.
The first—and the one I’m putting most of my time into—is basically me trying to make my own Ren’Py inside Godot, LOL.
I’m creating a system that mixes a manga-style visual reader with point-and-click minigames. It’s taking a lot of time because I’m building all the reusable animations, scripts, and features from scratch so I can use them again in future games.
For the test game, I decided to make an expanded story based on Himawari ga Yoru ni Saku. I’ve always felt the original story was too short, and Hisato is way too hot to not have a second part. So after waiting years for a sequel, I finally said screw it—I’ll make my own, staying faithful to the original but adding much more content.
Fucking Takeda… I waited for you to make a second part of your best work and you never did... Yeah, well, I'm gonna go make my own... With blackjack and hookers!
Patreon won’t let me upload videos because “Video uploads are currently not available for 18+ creators,” so I’ll upload all the system videos to Discord instead for everyone.
I’m hoping to finish the first chapter this month. The game will be divided into three chapters, one for each month Hisato worked as Gonzou’s secretary, plus an extra chapter for the impregnation month that happens after Norihito leaves on a business trip.
The second project is probably one everyone already knows about, lol… It’s a Naruto/Boruto game inspired by Karryn’s Prison.
I’ve been working on the first minigame—the bar minigame. This one is taking more time because it’s a much bigger and more complex project overall. I’m focusing on the bar minigame for now, but the combat system and the main story are still pending.
Honestly, this bar minigame is getting so big and packed with content that it could almost be considered a standalone game by itself.
Here are some of the panel concepts I’ve made for it. These images are just layout and gameplay concepts, so they don’t include the final UI design.
I hope you all enjoy the ideas I’m working on!
