Content
Quite the video yesterday, huh?
Not sure I have much more to say about it. I already talked about the liquid sims being a pain to such a degree I will have to rework future plans to use them less, if at all. The progress with them went better in the sequel video, but now I am having a different issue where the liquids aren't being outlined sometimes (with no clear/discernable reason why).
I think the editing was more interesting though. I realized a few things about the sound editing, mainly that there were a few more sounds I could include (moving in and out, furniture creaking, etc.) and I think they are a good improvement. It was also a bit easier to do the VA editing, not really because I realized anything but I think the content just lined up to some degree with the clips I was using.
The VA editing was a point of concern for me going into it because I felt as if the previous works that included it were lackluster and I did not want to ruin a project with subpar editing, but I put more effort into understanding how the clips worked in what context and I think it was at least an improvement over the previous works with VA editing.
Apart from that, I spent a lot of time this week on finalizing the shorts I mentioned previously and editing videos. Next months video is theoretically close to done; it has been rendered, but the fluid sim outline issue has not been figured out, need more time there. The shorts are overall close to editing stage; there's a few technical things that need to be worked out before I can actually render at least 2 of them. Currently rendering one now but it has a fluid sim, so I am kind of just waiting to see if I need to address the outline issue on that one as well... (update: I do)
It's a good thing I mean to be prepared by having the content for next month as well. Remember when I said I want to have at least a months worth of content ready in the event something happens and I can't make things for a bit? It's nothing too crazy right now, but October has become a very busy month for me for many unrelated reasons. For some reason, I have a bunch of different things that just happen to be scheduled during this next month. I will still have time to do other things, but I never realized (until 1-2 days ago) how everything started lining up in one month.
Because of my preparations, the upload schedule in October will remain as normal. In November or December, things may be a bit different, though not necessarily because of the aforementioned timing issue. I want to run a poll to see what you guys actually want in terms of videos/delivery schedule. Right now, the schedule is by month, 3-4 10-40 second shorts, 3-4 renders, and 1 ~3 minute video at the end.
This was somewhat arbitrarily decided based on my learning and some rough market research, but I want to get input about other combinations. Something else I think I could do is 2 ~2 minute animations a month (no consistent intermediary renders/shorts, though they would happen occasionally). May be other options as well, but regardless I was considering other ways to deliver a similar amount of content but with more effect. I think doing shorter/around 2 minute animation project would be good for my current stage so as to not get demotivated with technical problems significantly affecting larger projects, to avoid extending scenes unnecessarily, and I can post more substantive content semi-consistently. If everyone is ambivalent, I will likely try a month or a few of doing slightly shorter animations more often and gauge sentiment by how many people leave the Patreon.
Anyways, thanks for reading and supporting!!!! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!1!! :D !!!!
