FIRST TIME WATCHING?!

mgilldesign

I love you. Been waiting for this almost as long as Dawn of the Dead (1978). When i heard the news about Tony Todd... i figured you would watch it soon.

mgilldesign

It's ironic you jokingly said "They should've boarded up the door to the cellar." They really probably should have.... The further Cooper and Ben were away from each other, the better...

mgilldesign

I believe Cooper was trying to take the tv into the cellar. If you notice at how he was all looking over his shoulder and looking around as he was carrying it down the stairs and around the corner? He just got caught by Ben... and that was his alibi (about lack of reception in a basement... even though that's true to a degree).

mgilldesign

BTW, I love the bickering and love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with Ben & Cooper... This version of Cooper is funny and entertaining to me... Just goes to show how a group of people (forcibly stuck together, in a perilous situation) with "one-task" in one night, can ruin it all by not being on the same page, and working together. Had they worked together and just made it to the morning... they would've likely all survived. I love this version better than original (only because it's in color, and you see more blood and effects and a much tougher Barbara). And the acting IMO is very good.

Mark Allen

Yes I loved Tony Todd one of my all time favorites. I loved Candyman however, that movie still scares me to this day!!

Chris

I dunno about the board up the house approach - I'd be more into stealth - lights out, not screaming at each other, primarily stay in the attic.

A.Light33

Never seen this, only the original. RIP Tony.

Pogo Yaga

That might have been a good way to handle survival in the original film, too.

Pogo Yaga

That black and white in the original is one of the things that made it so great and scary. Not only do I like / love it more than this remake, there is an exceptionally good reason all of the great artists, actors, writers (etc) in horror and in history will call the original maybe the greatest horror film ever made. And vastly better than this remake. It's a hint we all should take. I love in-color movies, too. Does not make me like black and white films any less.

mgilldesign

I know the OG is a classic. And it's got that claustrophobic feeling. Making it a lot creepier than the remake. And even when studios tried to colorize it, it ruins it. It's not the same feeling. You're talking to someone who grew up on "The Munsters" "Leave it to Beaver" "I Love Lucy" "Addams Family" so you are mistaking my comment for something it isn't. It is not a criticism of black and white films/tv shows. It is just saying i love seeing the blood and colors (Tom Savini's attention to the deadness of their eyes, which he wouldn't be able to do in B&W, the warm day (red tones), the beautiful color of Uncle Rege's living room and mahogany/burgundy doors and colors. I'm a graphic designer, so I pay more attention to color/contrast more than others.

Erica Alexander

First time watching I love ole boy getting his come upings but I wish Tony lived.

Sista Gurl on Films

Right!!! They both probably would have lived if they had never met. Well Ben would have lived, Cooper would have been trapped down there with his zombie heffa child lol

Sista Gurl on Films

For sure! The hammering seemed to draw the zombies to them. One half of the group in the cellar and the other in the attic. Would have made for a 5 minute movie, they all would have made it except for the Cooper family because the daughter was going to turn regardless

Brian Dennis

The actress who played Barbara is a stuntwoman as well. She played the witch in Army of Darkness. Great call over Candyman. Good to see Tony as a strong lead character. Sadly Ben couldn’t have a different fate in the remake. Great reaction as always!

Jeralyn Longoria

Hey girl!!!! New member here I love your YouTube and I can’t get enough. Let me get cozy with my snacks and catch up on all these reactions😁🫶
