This is my penultimate comic for Autostraddle. They're ending the Saturday morning cartoon series for both Yao and I in an effort to pivot to other visual artists. I don't think that means more comic artists, but who's to say. TBH the parting email was pretty vague, and I can only guess what it means. I can't say I didn't see this coming when For Them bought the site last year. Change comes with uncertainty and risk, after all. And through the years, there's been a lot of change at Autostraddle. I don't think any of the original staff I had when I started are still there?? I've been through several editors over the years, and all of them have been lovely. It's time for me to go.

I'm okay with Reine coming to an end. It's bittersweet because I have been doing this series for so long (6 years!), but at the same time I'm ready to move on. I'm excited to see what I can do next!

That being said, it is a noticeable blow to my monthly income to no longer have this regular comic slot. I'll be okay, and I have y'all to thank for that. Thank you for your support over the years and allowing me to share my comics with you. With this extra time, I'll be able to work more on Amira and The Shepherd's Sword and prepare for my next trad pub project. And any other opportunities that may come my way! Windows closing, doors opening and all that.

There will be one more Autostraddle comic after this. I don't think it will be a big sentimental one because that's too much pressure. It will probably be another funny thing one of my friends said because that's what this series has been at its best: a time capsule of funny moments shared with my friends.

And, god willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be able to draw a few more of these if and when it gets picked up for republishing in a print collection. Cross your fingers for me!!

Love you, be good!
