Updated Version 8/21/2026 Grocery Shopping List

Getting food in the Sims is way too easy. You click on the fridge, oven, microwave etc. and there's always an endless supply. Now, things are going to get just a little bit more challenging (aka realistic).

I present to you, My Grocery Shopping List Mod!

Found under the appliances misc category. The name is My Grocery List - Insimnia. The thumbnail looks like a white rectangle laying down.

HOW TO USE (RECIPE):

1. Download the Grocery List Mod below.

2. Download the recipe file attached at the bottom of this post.

3. Click on the Grocery List to check what ingredients are needed. If you don't have them all, the recipe will be grayed out and your Sim will not be able to cook.

4. Make sure to click "open" on the ingredients if necessary, then put ALL of the required ingredients in your Sim's inventory or the fridge to "unlock" the recipes in the Grocery List Mod.

5. Once you have all the required ingredients, click on the Grocery List, and you are now able to click on the recipes.

6. For this particular recipe, make sure you have a microwave available. Even if you have the Hot Pocket already, the recipe will still be locked if you don't have one.

The Hot Pocket boxes are found under Appliances Misc. or just search "Hot Pockets" in the search bar ORRR you can download the updated version of the custom register since I added these items on there.

For the first set of recipes available in the mod, here are 12 different kinds of Hot Pockets for your Sims to enjoy!

Dragging it to the fridge will unlock the recipe for everyone in the household. If the Hot Pocket is found in a Sim's inventory, the recipe will unlock only for that Sim..

HOW TO INSTALL:

1. To download the Grocery List Mod, download the InsimniaMyGroceryShoppingList file.

2. Simply drag and drop the PACKAGE file directly to your Mods folder.

3. To download the Hot Pockets Recipes, download the InsimniaHotPocketRecipes file and drop the PACKAGE file directly to your Mods folder.

When I click on the grocery list to make food the only options that show up is “rice & pasta” and “frozen meals” and I can’t find any other option but on the register I can find everything

Hi, so I made sure my mod was updated and that my sim had every ingredient and it still just says frozen meals when I click the list ... also when i try to open any ingredient it just has orange circle that is next to open but it does not say " Open "

Hello! it means you didn't download any recipes that belong in different categories like "Desserts." Hello! I am having a small issue right now with the grocery list mod. I am able to cook things even when I do not have the ingredients. To my knowledge, I have all of your ingredients, recipes, and both this and cash register downloaded and installed. I have the simple life challenge on my lot but I've tested it without the challenge being on as well. The only items greyed out for me / unable to be cooked are the ones that require a microwave. Otherwise the game says 0/1 or whatever the amount needed is and is greyed out but I can still click on it and cook it. Do you know what may be causing this?

i have a question. I am trying to make the hot pocket when I open the package it goes to my sims inventory and when I click on it all it says is place in world? how do I get my sim to cook it?

Hii, Im having an issue with the Grocery list. None of the recipes are showing up for me- i bought all the groceries testing to see if it was my end, and even removed the mod and reinstalled. just wondering how do I get the sims to actually eat the items.. when I click the food it doesn't give me any sort of options to eat it or show up when I want to cook something, only thing I can do is buy the items but not use them..

hello! yes the grocery list is compatible with other cooking mods. it's just the insimnia eats 2.0 that isn't. but i believe with somik delivery it should be compatible since theirs is not an override. message me if you need more help

Thanks for replay, the game started to work fine after i put them again, i dont know what caused it, but now the better exceptions mod is telling me to remove your mods from the game, i receive the same alert everytime the scaning is being made.

hi i made the food but they wont eat it they will walk to the fridge to eat the left overs but then act like they cant get to it they will drink the oj just fine though

Mine is doing the same thing! I came here for help too. She will cook the food but then she doesnt eat it. The plate will teleport from her hand to the ground..

Hey so for some reason when i try to get them to make certain recipes mostly the pizzas and stouffers and stuff like that she'll just reset and wont make it at all. Like half of the recipes are working and half are not do u maybe know how I could fix this?

OK, I'm new and I just downloaded all the ingredients and the recipe. I downloaded the updated cash register but so far I don't see the option to BUY the popsicles. Also I downloaded all of the popsicle flavors but so far I only see the sugar free box in the "buy" mode and nothing happens when I click on the box. No "open" option or anything and I downloaded the "slow" option to eat them. I also notice that alot of the recipes are still "grayed out" when I try and cook them even tho I have all of the ingredients.

Better Exceptions is picking up that your grocery shopping list and the grocery haul recipe mods are broken. Unfortunately, any food my sim tried to eat would cause them to reset and not do any action related to eating or using items in their inventory.

For everyone who is having issues with the HOT POCKETS ... SO DID I!! The instructions are NOT clear but, I tested today you MUST have the shopping list on a counter or table. After opening and placing items in fridge, click on shopping list and frozen meals. Then it becomes usable.

hi i have downloaded this and put it in my mods folder but i cannot find the list anywhere in my same i have checked appliance misc and its not there i have tried to type it in the search bar and nothing coming up even the hot pockets arent there

Hi! If you put them in your mods folder, the grocery list should definitely be there. It can be hard to spot for sure since the thumbnail just looks like a white rectangle laying down. personally, I just use the search bar and just type 'insimnia my g..' and it comes up. the hot pockets you will find through the grocery list. if you want just the clutter version of the boxes, then they should be in the clutter catalog

I have all the hot pockets, and the new register. When I click on the hot pocket, my sims doesn't take it to the microwave. When I drag it to place in in the world, my sims still doesn't do anything with the hot pocket. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, you have to click on the list, not the actual hot pocket. If you scroll up to the How it Works section, there's a step-by-step tutorial on how to cook the hot pockets. Please take a look at the Features section as well for additional guidance.

Hi, not a bother at all! If it's not showing, you might have a previous version of the grocery list mod in your Mods folder. Make sure you locate that and delete it. Keep just the latest version in there.

Hi I've downloaded this and the food for the recipes but I cannot find them in the game. I've enabled the custom content inside of the game as well. My daughter has tried on her own comp as well and it won't work for us. We aren't new to mods lol. Are we missing a step?

Hi sorry not sure what you mean. The grocery list mod is all you need to cook custom recipes. Just make sure you delete old versions every time you download the latest version
