Dropping a quick peek at a feature coming soon that will let you continue your Game of the Year journey after the event has concluded. This is coming as a new list type, letting you create new GOTY lists for any year that has already concluded and edit at anytime to showcase on your profile with all the same list privacy settings you've come to know and love.

Stay tuned for more on this feature dropping soon after the 1998 event wraps up!

Would this afford rankings? Could a game lose an award if people change their vote in this list later on, or is it a different thing entirely?

Was just wondering if this was possible, and boom! Here's your post!

I like this idea. I don't usually participate in the GOTY events because if I'm going to carefully consider what's best in a whole group like that it's the sort of thing I'll do in my own time, when I'm in the right mood. It'd be nice to have a way to express it later. It'd also be great to be able to get associated achievements, although maybe that's not possible.

Can we use this for "amended" goty events. A good example for me would be updating my previous entries under the new rules to not have remasters, ports etc.

Very cool change, I actually meant to request this feature because I hardly still believe in my GOTY choices of previous years

This is great. I usually only play a few new releases a year, so I can never truly participate in the GOTY conversation in December. I catch up on releases once they go on sale or come to PS Plus, so this will be fun to retroactively come up with my GOTYs for each year.

Really cool! Will we be able to create custom categories?

Just because it crossed my mind recently: Are there any plans to integrate Backloggd closer with the Fediverse? Like: adding Mastodon or Peertube accounts to profiles. Or maybe: automatic status updates from the journal as posts on Mastodon. Perhaps even the platform acting as its own Fediverse instance altogether, so users from fediverse services can follow backloggd accounts directly? Just wondering.
