ADMaps.cloud is Live: What’s New and What’s Next (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone! I’m excited to announce that my website, ADMAPS.cloud, is now live and ready for you to explore! It's still in beta, so if something feels off or breaks, please let me know.
KEY FEATURES
Unified Patreon login. You can log in using your Patreon account. If you’re also subscribed to my second Patreon page, Fantasy Battlemaps, you’ll get access to content from both of my pages in one place.
No VTT left behind. Some VTTs are very strict about file size limits. You can toggle the “Lightweight WebM files” option in your profile settings to get WebM files that weigh under 20 MB, instead of the usual WebM files that weigh under 30 MB.
Download only what you need. When downloading a release, you can pick exactly what you need. Need only the 4K still images? A couple of clicks, and you’re all set.
Free backdrops. I know many people prefer Theater of the Mind over maps. That’s why the cover art for all my maps is now free in its own section. Many of these were created with the help of AI, and despite the many hours of additional work I put into processing them, I still believe this type of content should not be monetized.
Everything included. You no longer need to download the "Constructor" folder and keep it up to date. Every release on the website automatically includes all the extra files it needs, such as trees, birds, and other assets.
Adaptive scene files. Scene .json files automatically configure themselves based on what you choose to download. If you choose only static WebP images, the generated .json will have links to those static files.
At least I’m honest. I believe in being completely transparent about download limits. Every service that provides downloads has traffic limits — even Google, through throttling and pauses. I'm open about my limits and don't add any hidden slowdowns or artificial restrictions on top of them. Your current limits are always visible in your account. Each month of your subscription increases your maximum monthly limit by 1 GB, up to 40 GB per month. This is my way of saying thank you for supporting me for a long time.
My precious. The first time you log in, the website checks with Patreon which months you were an active patron and unlocks every shop exclusive you're eligible for. Once unlocked, they remain yours to download even if your subscription ends later.
List of accomplices. If a map requires specific Foundry VTT modules to work as intended, the full list of dependencies and compatible Foundry versions is shown right on the release page.
Free token gallery. I’ve also decided to share the tokens I’ve generated for my own games for free. Each token includes both a standard round VTT token and a full, uncropped portrait with a transparent background, cleaned up in Photoshop.
CURRENT LIMITATIONS & ROADMAP
There are a few limitations for now that I hope to solve in the future:
Only new releases are available for now. It will take a while before the entire archive is added. I’m visually refreshing every old release, cleaning everything up, creating higher-quality WebM files, and creating a new Foundry scene file for it, which takes a huge amount of time.
Missed exclusives. For now, missed exclusives can only be bought on Patreon (and then unlocked on the website with a code), so there are no volume discounts or bulk bonuses yet. The new Big Boss tier partially addresses this.
Foundry companion module. I'm still working on a Foundry VTT module that will give you quick and easy access to the entire release gallery right from Foundry.
Universal VTT support. I plan to add universal .uvtt / .dd2vtt files for Roll20 and other platforms so you won't have to set up walls and doors by hand.
Thank you for being here. I hope the new website will make your game prep a little easier!
