Weekly Updates: Multi-Comp, DuskVerb, and More (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Im a little late posting. Life got in the way for a bit, but I've been heads-down making some serious improvements across the board. Excited to share what's new!

Multi-Comp

This update is the biggest Multi-Comp overhaul yet. Every compressor mode got attention:

Vintage Opto (LA-2A): Reworked the sidechain emphasis to match real R37 HF behavior, fixed the photocell response curve, and tuned the dynamic tube drive to respond naturally to gain reduction

Classic VCA (dbx 160): I think I finally nailed the constant-rate 120dB/s release, implemented the correct OverEasy soft-knee formula, and reduced THD to match the real unit's incredibly clean spec

Vintage VCA Bus (SSL G-Bus): Proper sidechain HPF and corrected stereo linking (average instead of max)

Vintage FET (1176): Completely reworked All-Buttons-In mode based on published research: Slower attack, program-dependent release plateau, and correct effective ratio range

PDC / Phase alignment: Fixed several edge cases where bypass, 0% mix, or Digital lookahead could cause phase offset on buses in Logic Pro

Autogain accuracy: Tuned across all modes: Opto tube energy compensation, FET input gain tracking

Analog emulation audit: Fixed VCA harmonics, preset parameter issues, and HF rolloff stacking that was making some modes too dark

Factory presets now load correctly across all modes

DuskVerb

All five algorithms (Hall, Plate, Chamber, Room, Ambient) have been systematically tuned using automated spectral analysis and A/B scoring against reference presets. Early reflections timing and levels were recalibrated for more natural onset across Hall, Chamber, and Room. I'm mainly focusing on what sounds best rather than chasing other brands now.

Multi-Q (Preview)

Work is underway on a new EQ match processor and band detail panel for Multi-Q. No release just yet, hoping to have something ready for next week. Stay tuned!
