It is interesting how both groups went the paint on white clothes route 😀 I hope you watched the rap performances with subtitles later too. Out of all three, these are the most important to also know the lyrics, because both groups wrote their own. 13:25 BTW I just realised that if Skz hadn't won the extra 1000 from introductory stage, they wouldn't have been first place when they added introduction stage+ 1st round +2nd round. Regarding the hair choice that Chan had I think it caused a lot of backlash and he reflected on this, apologised and correct me if I’m wrong hasn’t worn such hairstyle since. When they were 3racha they were teenagers trying to find their feet. He has learned from his mistakes and grown as a person.

considering that chan came to Korea at a very early age and grew up with that culture, although it is not excuse, I feel like it is also kind of Inevitable for him to not fall for the wearing braids. Korean ppl are uneducated about braids and constantly wearing them so that's why he also didn't know it was wrong, he apologized and also got a social media ban for a week because of it

About de braids... it was rough 🥲 he got called out by stays, he reflected and apologized (I believe through bbl) acknowledging that he was in the wrong and calling out that any type of racism was not acceptable at all, since then no skz member has worn them

oof yeah the chan cornrows situation makes me cringe every time. he literally still gets flamed for it, but at least he acknowledged it was wrong, apologized, and none of skz have ever culturally appropriated since then, which is better than what most groups do when it comes to that. some groups have been getting called out for years and still do it and at that point it's no longer ignorance or being uneducated, it's just plain old racism.

I will state this here.... Chan got ALOT of unnecessary hate for those braids ... He has natural curly hair, braids is a very common way to control without the use of straightening products which can and will eventually damage your hair and scalp hence his going bald a while back. Also every culture has braids including many Asian cultures I grew up in New Orleans and some of my blk friends use to braid my hella long to my ass thick hair. This is to say he was hurting anybody and it helped with his longer curly hair.... After this they started with the constant straightening that lead to him spending most of 2023 and 2024 in cap and beanies from hair loss..... Let's not go there again
