Inclusim - A Disability & Accessibility Mod | Announcement (Patreon)
Content
I’m still deciding on the name, if you couldn’t tell LOL.
Anyway, I’m currently working on a huge, fully fleshed-out and carefully researched mod focused on disability, accessibility, and different ways of experiencing life.
I know this can be a sensitive subject, and I want the mod to feel respectful rather than stereotypical. If anything ever feels inaccurate, uncomfortable, or misrepresentative, please let me know. I’m completely open to listening, learning, and making changes.
The autism-related features will be influenced by my own experiences as an autistic person, while the other parts of the mod will be created through extensive research and community feedback. Please leave your ideas and suggestions in the comments!
Currently planned features:
Autism
Sensory overload
Stimming
Special interests
Masking during social events and while visiting public lots
Self-soothing interactions
Comfort and support from family and friends
Custom animations, buffs, moodlets, and interactions
Genetics
You will be able to manually activate the mod for your active Sim by assigning them a hidden trait through a pie menu.
Some disabilities and conditions, including autism, may also have a chance of being inherited. The likelihood will depend on the traits and criteria of both parents. This system will be expanded significantly as development continues.
Wheelchair Users
Walking and running animations replaced with a custom wheelchair object and animations
Gameplay designed around accessibility, with stairs and certain environments creating realistic challenges
Elder Sims may begin using a cane and later transition to a wheelchair, entirely under player control
Additional wheelchair-friendly animations and interactions where possible
I unfortunately cannot replace every animation in the game with a wheelchair-accessible version, but I’ll do my best to make the experience feel as immersive, functional, and respectful as possible.
This is still very early in development, so nothing is final yet. I’d love to hear what features, disabilities, accessibility tools, interactions, or systems you would like to see included!
