Omar’s bodega always smelled like cardamom, warm bread, and cedar shelves—comforting scents that clung to the air no matter how many times he scrubbed the place down. The old radio behind the counter played a scratchy love song, and the hum of the refrigerator cases filled the pauses between customers. It was late afternoon, that lazy golden hour when the sun slanted in through the windows and lit up the floating dust like tiny drifting stars.

He stood behind the counter, a mountain of a man—broad shoulders wrapped in a burgundy flannel shirt that fit him this morning, though the buttons were working a bit hard across his chest. His thick black beard, streaked with a few dignified strands of silver, framed his square jaw. His forearms—covered in dense, curly hair—rested casually on the counter as he smiled his warm, crinkly-eyed smile at the regular who was just leaving.

“Tell the boys I’ll have more of the pistachio cookies tomorrow,” he called after the mom, waving a big hand. His thin gold necklace glinted when he moved, a soft reminder of home against his chest.

“You spoil them, Omar!” she laughed as she stepped out.

“I spoil everyone,” he replied with a chuckle, his deep voice rumbling like gravel under syrup.

The bell above the door jingled again—but this time it wasn’t a familiar face.

A young man in a black hoodie and jeans stepped inside. Hood up, hands buried in the pocket. Nervous energy radiated off him. His eyes darted from the counter to the candy aisle to the cameras in the corners.

Omar didn’t stiffen. He didn’t frown. He simply raised an eyebrow.

“Afternoon,” he said, tone polite but unimpressed.

The young man walked right up to the counter, posture tense.

“Aight, old man—open the register,” he demanded. “Now.”

Omar blinked slowly. “No.”

The robber scowled. “What?”

“I said no.” Omar sighed, as if he were being tasked to restock the heavy soda crates again. “Habibi, take your hands out of that pocket. I am too tired today for stupidity.”

The young man bristled. “I’m serious! Don’t make me—”

Omar lifted just one large, thick finger—and the robber fell silent.

“I had a robber last month,” Omar said calmly, leaning his elbows on the counter as if settling into a story. “Very jumpy kid. Not unlike you. He also did not like how things ended.”

The robber wavered for a moment, swallowed, then hardened again.

“Last chance, old man!”

Omar let out another sigh. “A pity. I told you to walk away.”

He stepped out from behind the counter, boots thudding on the old tiles. Even standing straight seemed like too much effort for him—he was relaxed, loose, almost bored. The young man stepped back, startled at just how big the bodega owner really was.

Omar reached forward with just one hand.

He grabbed the robber by the front of the hoodie, lifted him straight off the ground as easily as picking up a grocery bag. The kid kicked and shouted, but Omar’s arm didn’t even tremble.

“Lunch time,” Omar muttered, more to himself than to the thief.

Before the robber could scream again, Omar opened his mouth—wide, impossibly wide. His beard framed the stretching motion, his jaw unhinging with practiced ease. He lowered the robber downward and began swallowing him headfirst.

The hooded head disappeared past Omar’s lips.

GULP.

His throat bulged, stretching hugely around the shoulders.

GULP.

The robber thrashed and kicked in midair, but Omar’s massive hand held him steady, guiding him like he’d done this a thousand times before.

GULP.

The chest slid in, and Omar lifted the struggling legs a little higher.

GULP.

The hips disappeared past his bearded lips, and Omar’s neck swelled, thick and powerful, carrying the meal downward.

GLLRP.

The legs kicked wildly as the last of him slipped inside. Omar sealed the final swallow with a deep, satisfied GLLLUNK, his entire throat pulsing.

Then it happened.

POP—POP—PING—CRACK.

His burgundy flannel shirt detonated open. Buttons shot in every direction, bouncing off shelves and pinging against the refrigerator doors. His hairy belly surged outward—round, heavy, swollen with the full outline of a grown man curled inside.

The gut was huge, pendulous, covered in thick dark hair and stretched tight as a drum. Imprints pressed faintly against it—knees, maybe a shoulder, a foot pushing at his left side.

Omar exhaled with deep satisfaction, let his hands slide over the great mound, and—

BUUUURRRRPPPPP.

The burp echoed through the whole shop, rattling a jar of olives.

“Delicous,” he muttered with a pat to his enormous belly.

He leaned back against the counter, both arms wrapping around the giant, sloshing gut like a man cradling a sleeping child. His palms moved in slow, practiced circles, massaging the struggling bulges inside. His fingers sank into the warm, taut flesh, guiding the shape of the robber as he settled deeper into the stomach.

“Should have walked away, son,” he rumbled softly, almost fatherly. “But you’ll learn something in there.”

He shifted his weight, the belly swaying heavily with a deep, living thump from inside. Omar hummed, the low vibration running through the massive mound as he stroked it lovingly.

Omar’s massive gut shifted, a clear outline pushing up against his thick belly hair. He chuckled—a deep, warm, dangerously amused sound—and gave the swollen orb a slow, deliberate shake.

Inside, the robber yelped.

“Stop! Stop—please! Let me out! I didn’t mean it, man, I’m sorry, I’m—”

Omar smoothed his big palm over the mound, fingers spreading wide to feel every desperate shove.

“God, so dramatic,” he sighed. “You are not the first to say that.”Then, leaning in slightly, voice dropping into a teasing rumble, he tapped two knuckles against his gut.“Since you’re in there—do me a favor. Look around. See if you can find the ski mask the last robber wore.” He grinned. “I swallowed him months ago and the thing never came out. Maybe you’ll bump into it.”

A muffled, horrified gagging noise came from inside.

The robber was submerged waist-deep in thick digestive juices, slipping around in half-liquefied, sour-smelling remains of whatever Omar had eaten earlier—a stew of unidentifiable chunks and bubbling warmth. He coughed, splashed, twisted.

“PLEASE! Please, man, I’m begging! I don’t wanna die! Let me out PLEASE!”

Omar raised his eyebrows.

“Ay, ay… so much noise.”He hooked both hands under his massive belly, lifted the whole heavy, sloshing globe up——and then dropped it.

THWUMP.

The robber inside let out a broken shriek as the weight crashed down around him.

Omar groaned softly, rolling his shoulders. “There. Settle down.”

“No—no—please—”

“Relax.” Omar patted the mound lovingly. “I will let you out… eventually.”He smirked. “Just not in the way you’re hoping.”

A deep gulp churned through his stomach. The robber whimpered.

“So be a good food baby until then,” Omar said warmly. “Let your big baba digest you properly as you work your way down.”

He pulled on a loose hoodie, because his shirt was long gone and headed out of the bodega, locking the door behind him. Every step made his gut wobble and sway, the thief inside sliding deeper into the stew with each movement.

Home

Omar climbed the stairs to their humble apartment. He knocked.

The door swung open, and his husband, Sami, stood there soft-eyed, gentle, wearing an apron dusted with flour. He blinked once… then again… at the enormous, distended globe jutting from Omar’s middle.

“Omar.”A knowing grin crept across his face. “Another one?”

Omar rubbed the side of his belly proudly. “Mmm. Tried to rob me. He became lunch instead.”

Sami stepped closer, placing his hands on the taut, hairy mound.

“Very round today,” he hummed, giving it a playful jiggle. “So I’m guessing you won’t want dinner tonight.”

Omar snorted. “What? You kidding?” He puffed his chest out. “I’m eating for two now. I’m starving.”

Sami burst out laughing and kissed his cheek before turning back toward the kitchen.

Dinner was delicious, and Omar devoured more than usual—each swallow making the belly swell, tightening the drum-skin stretch. Inside, the robber was weak now, movements slow, fading. The acids worked steadily, relentlessly.

After eating, Omar lowered himself onto the couch with a satisfied groan. His gut sat like a boulder on his lap—warm, heavy, alive but growing quieter.

He rubbed big circles into it, humming to himself as the last struggling taps inside softened to nothing more than faint twitches.

Sami finished washing dishes, wiped his hands, and came over.

Without a word, he climbed onto the couch beside Omar and pressed both palms into the huge mound.

“There he is,” Sami said softly, admiring the sheer size. “Your belly always gets so handsome after dealing with trouble.”

He kissed it.

Then again.

Then he slid his tongue lightly into Omar’s deep, belly button, humming as Omar shivered with pleasure.

Sami leaned forward, lifted the heavy gut with both arms—straining, laughing—and then let it drop onto his head.

WHUMP.

Omar burped powerfully, head tipping back.

“URRRRPPPPP.”

Sami grinned up at him from beneath the warm shelf of belly. “My big man.”

Omar patted his husband’s cheek affectionately through the soft underside of the gut.

“I could not have asked for a better day,” he said, voice thick with pride, warmth, and satisfaction.

“You’re perfect,” Sami murmured, kissing the belly again.

Omar closed his eyes, hands resting on the vast mound that was slowly, surely settling toward its final shape.

Omar’s belly growled deeply, loud enough that the picture frames on the wall seemed to buzz from the vibration. Sami looked up at him, breath catching when he saw the fire in Omar’s eyes — that low, hot, electric energy he only got after a big “meal.”

Omar grinned, beard bristling, and seized Sami by the waist with both hands.

“Come here,” he rumbled, voice dark and warm. “All this energy? I’m putting it to good use.”

Sami squeaked in surprise as Omar hoisted him clean off the floor, lifting him as if he weighed nothing. The massive, heavy gut shifted with the motion, sloshing ominously as it digested the doomed robber inside. Omar carried his husband down the hall, the floorboards groaning under each powerful step.

The bedroom door slammed shut behind them.

The bed creaked. Then groaned. Then shuddered in a way that suggested it had been through this before and barely survived. Each movement sent Omar’s gigantic belly swaying, heavy and pendulous, rocking the entire mattress. The muffled sounds inside — once frantic — began dissolving into soft, submerged gurgles as the robber’s fate sealed itself completely.

After a long, breathless while, the room fell into quiet except for the steady, wet churning of Omar’s stomach.

Finally, Omar collapsed back into the pillows, beard mussed, chest heaving. His enormous belly slumped heavily to one side, sloshing thickly with what was left of its “occupant.” He wrapped one heavy arm around Sami, pulling him close.

Within moments, Omar began to snore, deep and contented, the kind of sleep only a man utterly satisfied with life could manage.

Inside his gut, the robber was little more than swirling heat, broth, and nutrient-rich sludge — fuel for tomorrow’s strength, warmth, work behind the counter… and fuel for moments exactly like this…

Groannnn….
