(sorry for deleted comment, hit enter too soon yet again) Haha hiii now that I'm here in a less public space than YouTube... I need to vent for a second, sorry in advance. Like. You know how crazy I am about them, how much I love basically everything they've ever done, how much I love them as artists and love their team. So when I say I like almost nothing about We on Fire, I hope that comes across as frustrated love rather than any kind of hate or disdain. In my VERY PERSONAL opinion: - it should not have been the title track, it's the most generic kpop-sounding thing they've ever done despite nominally being in Japanese and has none of the wow factor of any of their other title tracks, I feel like it could have been a C-side on practically any other boy group's release - despite Sasaki Sho-co heading up the choreo team as usual, the choreo is ALSO oddly flat and awkward (especially at the start), one of their greatest strengths half-wasted - also the choreo was barely even in the MV? again? did they learn nothing from Go In Blind? I've resigned myself to impenetrably lore-heavy MVs but like... if we want to bring in new fans... is "?????????????" really the reaction we want from people for whom this is their first exposure to the group...? and Witch of Yerasah still isn't out so EVEN FANS barely have any idea what's going on in there l m a o - they've always had goofy CGI in their lore stuff and I've generally found it more endearing than cringe but the addition of AI has... changed that - they clearly worked their asses off and went SO HARD to try and make up for the shortcomings of all of that with sheer skill and charisma, but they really had their work cut out for them (: - what I DID like: everything the boys themselves did. also they gave them weapons and had them do fight choreo in the desert and I'm weak (the return of Yuma's bow and Fuma's bazooka!! bless!!!) A N Y W A Y. TL;DR: Love my boys to hell and back, Hybe and YX need to get their shit together. - I also like Bewitched better, though it's still not high on my favourites list, mostly due to the production. has the potential to grow on me, at least, and ohh my god K's run, fffnngh - I have no idea what M.O.M is supposed to mean there, either. neither does Urban Dictionary. I mean moms do often kill it but why write it like an acronym. confusion. - thankfully, I do genuinely love HOTLINE, but Sakura-iro Yell is ABSOLUTELY my favourite off the EP despite being a ballad (I usually go for the more energetic ones first) because it's the one that feels most like THEM, if you get me. it gives me the feelings their title tracks usually do. - "yell" in this context means something more like "cheer", it's a loanword in Japan but the meaning has changed. they're cheering for you :) - I love that you know their voices enough now to catch when the distribution videos miss and know who's doing the background harmonies ♥♥♥ - but yeah in summary, almost 100% with you, for me it's Sakura-iro Yell > HOTLINE >>> Bewitched > We on Fire lol. - the fact that this MV was the most directly connected to ENHYPEN's lore, to the point that they're wearing outfits directly parallel to Fatal Trouble's, and Enha's main lore character (Heeseung) just fucking left the group like a month ago l m a o. no idea how they're going to handle that going forward! - THAT LITTLE HARUA FACE I DIED <333 And there you go, million words, thank you for watching and being so honest with your reactions, as always. ♥
