Shot 17 WIP + Behind the Scene (Patreon)

Happy Sunday! 💜

We're now knee-deep in the climax, and this shot is proving to be quite the challenge. It's a full-body setup with a lot of controls all moving and syncing together, making this probably the second-hardest shot I've tackled so far, right behind the make-out scene.

I'm still not sure if I'm approaching everything as efficiently as I could, but as I like to say: I'm just going to figure it out as I go and make it look as good as I can! Here's a look at a few new tricks and techniques I've been using for this shot.

This week, I discovered Motion Paths in Blender, and they've been a complete game changer. They were especially helpful for visualizing the rolling motion of the hips and figuring out how to make the movement feel more fluid and convincing. I may even go back and use this technique to improve some of the earlier shots.

Animation Layers have also played a big role here, allowing me to stack smaller, faster movements on top of the larger, more dramatic ones.

There's still some clipping to iron out, along with the hair animation. I also want to give the hip movements toward the end a bit more weight and impact before calling this shot finished🎉

We're currently on track to have Part I ready for Patreon members next week, though it'll ultimately depend on when I receive the second voice-over and whether anything needs to go back for revisions. So... we'll see! 👀
