Zweihander Montante

God tier moment , no contest Wait, this is first time that nick cry ?

Sukuna's Favorite

The first time I watched that last episode, I cried quite a bit. Even now while rewatching it, I still get teary eyed. Truly a peak episode.

Darek Łysik

refreshing the site worked FINALLY

Aexis

Yayyyy thankss. Been waitingg

Dyloo Sutherland

I wasn’t ready to watch this again but man it’s so good RIP to the goat

markowen

I will just have to wait till this weekend so I can watch these eps all at once. have a visual feast.

The_End

Goated 🐐

Chosen_Undead

I was sad for 1 week because of this

Devin House

This show will always be my number 1 anime of all time, and it's because of story telling like this. I hope whoever sees this also has an amazing day

Qrowe

I grew up with Naruto starting when I was 8 years old in 2005. Jiraiya was my absolute favorite character, and so this episode is without competition the most emotional any anime has ever been for me. I feel the pain.

Daten

"this is what you call a masterpiece". I really hate how meaningless that word is for him now though. He called the very first arc a masterpiece, like why is this anything new if he hit that bar off the bat

Kayso

First time he cried was Naruto vs Sasuke in OG Naruto

heavensdoor2

Without trying he became a part of childhood. Everything he said (without the Pervy parts xd) showed him as such an admirable character. Rip Jiraiya

Will

Let’s goooo

Swish_91

Thats the First Time i saw Nick cried on Stream. The Moment Jiraiya stepped up one last time till the Shoulder Tap gives me chills every Time 😭💔 Truly a Masterpiece tho

Duane Potgieter

I cant watch it, it says something went wrong

Daten

Everyone seems to have very loose definition of crying lol

Swish_91

He litteraly said himself its the First time he cried on stream . He had Tears in his Eyes and a Voice Crack. If your Definition of Crying is to completly broke down and not able to talk anymore , then you right lol

Jayden Dekker

I need Nick to hear Pains voice in the english dub. And his speech.

Animeter

This arc is a masterpiece, live with it. This is the most emotional scene in every anime i've ever watched. And i watch anime since 1998

Mirphh

I got the same thing on my laptop, try on mobile; it's working on my tablet at least.

Izumi

RIP Jiraya the goat

Fine Kat

I've seen this hundreds of times and it still makes me cry

Chris caponigro

Jiraiya is one of my favorite characters in all of anime. Im meeting the English voice actor at Collect-a-con next month and getting his signature with "The Tale of Naruto Uzumaki"

Maraka

On stream I believe yes. But pretty sure he cried during episode 136 of HxH

Wassa

The “haters” being the people who couldn’t whatch it cus they missed one day even though they are the ones paying for early content

Duane Potgieter

Oh ny god this was so good and sad at the same time. I cried again and I watched it once already. Naruto really is a great show

No Name

RIP pervy sage

jiwon330

damn i can't wait itachi true

kkloyd

About itachi? He already finished pain arc btw, so yeah talk with tobi, fight with killer bi all of them were already watched:)

Dendro

I’m assuming Naruto won’t be streamed for a while till all the episodes are uploaded?

kkloyd

I watched only 3rd day, kinda ok But ofc really waiting for early episodes specially with killer bi sasuke

Vidura Lakshan

I will never not cry on this scene man. How many times have I seen this already :(

Light Yagami

Now you've tasted pain. But you have yet to KNOW pain.

Light Yagami

I need Nick to hear Pains speech in English. Its glorious

Simon Dela Vega

oh Lord, Nick Don't Watch anymore depressing episodes for atleast another week.

Animeter

Definitely no. There are only two anime i would consider as masterpieces. First is Naruto Shippuden and second is Made in Abyss. Heavenly Delusion is the closest to these two, imo.

Parched Lemon

No matter how many times I rewatch it, I always cry at the shoulder touch. Every. Time. What a beautiful scene :')

Kayso

Oh yeah 100%. Haven't watched reaction yet but can't wait. Those were happy tears by seeing how badass Naruto vs Sasuke was but ik these are sad tears. Nick gonna have a hard time through many more sad scenes

Esteban Garcia maldonado

Bro u just finished the pain arc in twitch I got home late from work and I couldn’t see it bro just upload it to patreon bro don’t be lazy 🥲🥲🥲

Zweihander Montante

Bro… I can’t imagine how on earth he gonna handle another moment after Pain Arc (I’m sure you know what i’m talking about)

XI_A_Sourodip Roy

Every anime is in one side and the philosophy in Naruto is in other side the emotional rollercoaster has just started

XI_A_Sourodip Roy

This was the most painful death in anime history

Sin

So powerful ...my heart...

Chris Gama

I remember back before these episodes were out, my friend was reading the manga releases (the fan translations way before we got them in the US. Back then the US was a few years behind), and like when he told me that there was a guy named Pain, but he's SIX guys, that blew my damn mind. I couldn't wrap my head around it the way he was describing it. And then to see it animated... holy shit. It was just a few seconds, but that shoulder touch, Naruto looking up, and him turning... the animation on that was pure cinema. I believe they animated it at 24fps, instead of the 12fps that anime is normally made at. Simply beautiful. Sayonara, Jiraya-sensei. Pervy Sage.

Dendro

That’s awkward I’d rather have the episodes all release before or at least by the stream he continues.

Mookie

I also read the fan translations back in the day (been reading naruto since 2004) and it’s difficult to describe how destroyed the community was after jiraiyas death. People were legit depressed for a couple months

Carlos Andres

Jiraiya is, outside of Naruto, Sasuske and Guy, probably the strongest hidden leaf shinobi. He could 1v1 every akatsuki in a straight fight except maybe Pain w/o information on how he works and abilities. He could 1v1 every kage. He is incredibly well written w/o any sudden turns of character motive for plot sake. Favorite anime character of all time.

Celphan

I've waited sooo long for this day... For the day that Nicholas Light would tear up for real. RIP Jiraiya, may your tales be told for generations to come.

25redshark

This is why Naruto is my #1, and why a long running series like Naruto, One Piece, etc, will always be superior to a short one like JJK or Demon Slayer. You can only get this emotional and feel these things for Jiraiya because weve had so much time to spend with him in the story

Saleh_redfield

Bro I’ve never seen u like this i got so much respect for u now like HOLY SHIT 😭😭 that death was hard hitting and the shoulder touch made it worse for me.

oii

its been years and im still not over jiraiyas death

iNeedsleep

Heck, even his perviness was an important part of his message. No one in this world, regardless of how noble, intelligent or philosophical is without their faults and vices. Jiraiya is a very well written, very human character which makes you actually feel something for him regardless of his obvious vices.

iNeedsleep

I'd add OG trigun to the most emotional scenes list. Nicholas D Wolfwood, all I need to say without spoiling anything

PiGEPON

last time i wrote a comment like this i got pressed and had to delete it, good luck fighting people off if they do come

scwyd

Can’t wait to watch this when I’m home from work. Thx Nic

Kayso

One of the saddest deaths in anime. That shoulder touch on Naruto was so sad... There will only be one pervy sage. RIP to the goat Jiraiya

Kayso

Same here. Grew up on Naruto it'll always have a special place in my heart. I remember it coming on every Saturday on toonami at 9pm

Eloisa Estrada

Freaking crying 😢 every time I watch this. And it’s been close to 100s of times of me rewatching Naruto over and over. Thanks for the reaction Nick! 👍

Chase Hill

After all these years I didn't think it'd hit me as hard but I think I cried harder this time than any other, good lord man

Nikolay G.K.C.

gg than, back to back shits like this are gonna go crazy on him, at least in one piece we have like 50 eps till those moments

Trznk

Attack on titan can’t touch this. Long running series like Naruto and One piece do well at building up emotions. Also the world-building in OP and character developments that make the events leading up so impactful. It’s the depth that the story goes to

Mookie

I would say it’s more difficult to do but it is possible to get this emotional with shorter shows. The shows just have to be REALLY GOOD. Bebop and cyberpunk come to mind, those endings are brutal and you feel really attached to the characters

Paullen

Episode 12 of asking for Nicholas to not skip Power Arc

Ray Roy

Got a few examples me being more or at least same emotional like at Jiraiyas passing but in short Anime. Its just well made in Naruto and hes a great character.

LMPGames

On the whole, AOT is better than Naruto as a whole, but there are arcs where Naruto absolutely surpasses AOT and the Pain arc is one of them.

Jeremy Brooks

If your going by the streams yes he can watch it but if he was actually on episode 131-133 no he couldn't lol

Daniel Nguyen

Naruto and one piece have masterpiece moments and I love them to death, but AOT is a masterpiece overall. (imo of course)

RawDuck

The peak. It hurts everytime, but it is so good.

Atis

You should realy watch Grand Blue Dreamin. It's the funiest anime out there.

Trznk

I don’t think it’s insane, AOT as whole had the same downfall with the plot. I think the highs in Naruto are better than highs in attack on titan that are largely accredited to the anime adaptation. And with One piece- the lore and depth is on a completely different league with interconnecting subplots and well written characters. I’m more of a manga reader and attack on titan’s manga has incredible story but the world building and characters are just not of the same league

Trznk

Also as a “whole” when I started reading AOT - what I loved about it was the lore and mystery aspects of it, much of that was not lived up to with the later developments of the story and I was pretty disappointed with the direction it went after the time-skip. Erens character development and the revelations of titans and how everything came together in the end did not live up to the build up the story was cooking and felt very mediocre in the face of the events we saw prior in the story.

Trznk

I feel the same with much of what happened with Naruto later on in the story. With one piece it’s been the most consistent with story and satisfying revelations that live up to the hype. Oda is an unmatched author not many book series have been able to world build to the extent Oda has done with One piece- particularly with how masterfully they interconnect and seamlessly supplement the character’s individual storyline. Even if you take little portions of the story line namis arc or robins backstory, or Kuma and Laws backstories. These are all so well written with lots of intention in every detail supplementing the world it’s being told in. You could find hour long theory videos on YouTube because of the level of depth the story has.

GamersForTruth

The worst part, is that the more time goes on in this anime. The more you will miss him. Even 100's of episodes from now, you're gonna wish he could be resurrected somehow.

Martin Fink

Oh man that still hurts and more pain to come.

rizqiefajar

As someone who has only watched bits and pieces of Naruto, even I knew about this devastating moment. Truly one of the most important death in anime.

Nathan

this was around the time i caught up to the anime after id watched naruto as my first anime in dub and i couldnt wait for them to dub it. mad to think actually how much peak happens at this point like in a row man, time to watch the reaction lol

Ameth

I'm 30 now, as of this week, and I still bawled my eyes out watching this just now. Damn man, either I'm not growing up or this is just that good, I'm gonna choose the latter

Trznk

Ur right I think world building is a stretch for Naruto I was mainly referring to one piece with that one. With Naruto I would call it more country building. But it has great wisdom in the narrative

XI_A_Sourodip Roy

Same here bro but it's an universal truth OP deaths then MHA DEATHS HIT HARD BUT This story writing is above perfect

XI_A_Sourodip Roy

The plot twists bro in Naruto the plot twists are fuking amazing like you said AOT, MHA , DEMON SLAYER, OPM, FIRE FORCE..... THEY ALSO HAD MOMENTS LIKE SHASA'S DEATH BUT THOSE MADE ME EMOTIONAL ONCE BUT THIS MADE ME EMOTIONAL BUT I AM LIKE WATCHING IT FOR THE 50TH TIME......😂

kiddanizzz

i dont tho. i cant really figure out which one you’re talking about. there are so many. put a spoiler alert then type it

Todeey

at the time i caught up to this part of Jiraya dying i lost my brother IRL about two weeks prior i feel like it helped me get out my emotions and heal afterwards.. Naruto always has a special place in my heart because of these next few episodes

Zweihander Montante

Anything that happen in the show that your can figure out bro, sometime people keep told about Naruto series fell down after Pain Arc Well personally most of them I think it’s not if skip all out filler (I don’t try to spoil guy, but some moment like Fighting , Drama , Plot Reveal, something like that)

Daten

yeah no shit bud... how tf was that my point at all. Like yes exactly THIS is what a masterpiece is, I hate when reactors just go around saying it on everything like he does, cause when it actually happens, it dont mean anything

Mels

Oh god that hurt 😭😭 and goodness there's more to come...just watching Naruto's reaction now was tough, I'm not ready to see him suffer again when he finds out the truth 😭😭

kayla_san

Watched this with the stream and u bet ur ass imma watch this again on my day off 😅 … it’s that good W Naruto and W Nick

Johnny Fleehart

Absolute fire. This is definitely now my favorite reaction Nicholas has ever posted.

llB0JANGLESll

I love this show so much, this arc is truly a masterpiece. Thats my opinion and I'm still here waiting for someone to top it. I cry every time... every time

selena

i cry every time i watch that scene 😃

Maxakari

Thank you Nick!

FragenSteller

He needs to react to the Divide Music Jiraiya song ngl

yahya

blud where's mushoku no tensei episode reaction

Toff

pure pain

Its Hazard

Still to this day, One of the saddest deaths in all of anime

Bife

10/10

Theodor

Nicholas, I saw you experiencing the Pain Arc (sabaton), and I have to tell you, your quote, "It was like Star Wars, like the best things I watched as a kid," perfectly captures my feelings during this arc. My eyes couldn't believe what I was seeing—this was unbelievably great. The tension, the storytelling, the emotions, the fights, the OSTs... this was next-level stuff, and I was flabbergasted for a long time. Now, revisiting this with you, I remembered it all and felt those same emotions again. I can't put into words how godlike the storytelling in this arc is. The philosophy, the connections with "A Tale of the Gutsy Ninja," Jiraiya, and the way you defeat the main villain by changing his heart... it's so original, so unbelievably great, that I'm at a loss for words. Thank God for the creator of this anime. Thank God I caught up to this anime in my late twenties (same as you), because as a kid or teenager, I probably wouldn't have been able to appreciate the depth of the storytelling. And thank God I was able to watch it like you did — when the whole show was live. Watching this on a weekly basis must have been pure suffering. (Just imagine all those poor souls who started watching Naruto in 2002 and didn't make it until 2017, when Shippuden ended.) The amount of jaw-dropping moments in this arc is unbelievable, and I'm telling you — there's more to come. Looking back, I can easily place "Naruto" as a phenomenon, as the first anime for many, and as something that stands alongside LoTR, Star Wars, and all the greatest creations humanity has ever made.

DiamondBoiz

Nobody is seething to your comments bro, literally no one cares about you or your opinion👌 Both Naruto and One Piece are great shows with their own strengths and weaknesses

Laura Alonso

Jiraya is my favorite Naruto character. Grew up watching all Naruto episodes so I got to see more of his character.

GuGu

Did nick mentioned anything about Mushoku Tensei the last episode should be uploaded on father day

Raj Dhillon

Just cried my eyes out AGAIN bro this scene is so heart breaking especially to people that have lost a father or a father figure.

Kevin

Hahahhahahahhahah that would mean Nick cares that we paid money for early access So no.

Elbo69

He just watched it on stream, its probably up some time soon'ish

Miguel Salas

bro stop whining he specifically said he is going to a convention in a week he needs to make thumbnails, edit, and upload all of the videos while also streaming other animes/reactions. He is trying to spread the content out so we have something to watch in the long run not just to have it all at once and be asking for more immediately. This is more Naruto content than we got before anyways. Just chill out, sure u are paying for this but he is just a normal person like us, he isn't your puppet who can do everything you want him to do whenever you want him to. Just telling you the truth.

Derek Nam

God, this scene BROKE me. I don't think I've seen Nick get emotional like this before. What a reaction. I didn't actually expect Naruto to be in his top 5 when he first started. What a journey.

Jamed

Well after rewatching 133 with you.. I need to rethink about my life again...

Moiz Tahir

Nick please post more than 2-3 episodes at a time!

Wyatt Johnson

When i first saw episode 133 the first time it aired omg I had no words at all. It literally broke my heart and to this day its still one of the best episodes I've seen in anime.

Skyfire

The tap on the shoulder is Jiraya playing tag with Naruto. He literally passed it along. It's Naruto's time now.

CelestialDivineInstinct59

Jiraya's death moment probably was the hardest-hitting and most emotional gut-punch character death to me in Naruto. Absolute emotional cinematic peak masterpiece. Jiraya became one of my favorite characters.
