They're not even jokes bud. It's just him saying that "x character is straight not gay". It's not changing it up or even a small group of people. Queer people are everywhere, including the anime you consume. If a group of people who've been historically and currently discriminated against have to be the butt of a joke then you're not really funny. IDC about the furry jokes, I don't think anyone does. Nicks comments? I've said before that it's disappointing that he's hypocritical regarding ships. He called bkdk people on Twitter pedos and acts disgusted and angry and insists on them being straight. But then he's okay with straight ships and finds some of them cute. I don't think there's any issue with straight or gay ships, but when you're constantly dogging on one type over the other that's some homophobia straight up. Unless a characters sexuality is canon- (I think toga is the only confirmed one as being bi) then you thinking a character is straight is also just a headcanon

Bro doesn't even have the balls to reply to me directly 💀 Nick himself has said that if you critique something or someone it's because you like them and want to see them improve. I still enjoy consuming his content cause he does say some pretty funny out of pocket things that make me bust out laughing. I enjoy some of his analysis on shows and how he can interpret things in a way I might not. I don't hate Nick for this. YOU'RE the sensitive one if seeing someone wanting growth for someone else triggers you into calling others names.

I don't know the dude personally so I'm not gonna pass judgement on whether or not he is homophobic, as for his comments I just assume they're jokes and move on. If you think they are in bad taste then you're entitled to your opinion, but if he does it as much as you say why are you still here watching his stuff on patreon? There are plenty of reactors out there. I've seen this type of comment few times over the past year or so I've been watching him, If the dude was gonna change how he operates he would have done it already.

God forbid I enjoy his analysis and other jokes. How dare I want to see a person I enjoy watching better themselves. Truly terrible. I don't think he means bad when he says some things, but that's not the point. Throwing comments out like dissing pride flags and asserting that deku and bakugo are straight and anything else would be disgusting shows a pattern of behavior. This didn't happen till he encountered the bkdk ship on Twitter and since then he's been making off comments every now and then. Nick isn't stupid and assuming people are static their entire lives and incapable of change is just incorrect. He's been way ahead in his pre-recording anyways, any change wouldn't be immediate. If you see this pattern of behavior as just jokes then congrats, you're not a marginalized person. Queer people have and will always exist and anime has always had queer representation, mha included. If he wants to distance himself from a chunk of his viewers that's his prerogative. He himself has stated that you wouldn't criticize something unless you liked and wanted better for or from that person.

I'm glad you're around here still spring deerling partly because queer voices really diversify a lot of discussions (not the only reason lol), and I totally hear you about enjoying Nick's analysis but at the same time feeling ostracized by some of his comments. It's totally possible to feel both of those things at the same time, so idk why people act like you can only either 100% love everything Nick says and does or hate him, which makes people even further ostracize you when you try to voice an opinion or give constructive feedback. I always appreciate your comments, so thank you for being part of this community! :)

I respect the admission that Aoyama is actually awesome lol. Nick is clearly caught up with the episodes, but I am SO beyond excited for the reaction to the backstory of AFO and Dabi. AFO is the epitome of a world-class puppeteer.
