The school arc of this season had a lot of important stuff cut out, then the studio realized their mistake and made OVAs 3-5 and the first 6 episodes of Season 2 after the spirits but before the final parting. It's confusing if you don't know that ahead of time, and many make the mistake of skipping the canon OVAs since the first 2 are just filler fan-service. Also there's Slime Diaries which are just miscellaneous moe Slice of Life episodes that introduce characters that won't be relevant until at least season 4 or 5 (we're on 3 now). And the Veldora episode may be good paired with the extra since it's an episode dedicated to him and seeing what he's been up to this whole time

I know he is already in the middle of season 2 right now in terms of recording but I hope he goes back and watches the canon OVAs that take place before season 2 just to see the content that was skipped in the middle of this season

honestly s2 was close or such as amazing to me as s1. S3 yes it was slow but everyone knows its a buildup to the next season which is apparently crazy(i havent read the manga)

Season 4 probably has some good episode, but the there's also lot more meeting room world building. People over hype the story way too much

This has nothing to do with no action. I like good story telling and world building better than action. But season 3 unfortunately had nothing of it. The world building was done in one room and straight up talking for 4-5 episodes in a row. Even many fans of the LN didn't like it, because you can read the LN in your own pace. But you have to watch each episode with 20 minutes of very slow pacing and in most episodes absolutely nothing happened.

Rimuru never heard an "I love you" apparently and he though "man I wish it was a grown Chloe who said that to me not a child" , and to have hear that in is previous life, so basically he wished a grown woman said that to him once . (Rimuru isn't a perv like Rudy but he's had a dog in him xD (well now he is asexual being and doesn't feel arousal) . Now while maybe strange it's mostly innocent and maybe foreshadowing ? Still no clue to this day what was that spirit btw

Yeah but that's still preditory even though that's obv not what Rimuru meant when he said that. Imagine looking at a kid and saying "I can't wait till they grow up" MASSIVE creep vibes but Rimuru meant more like he wishes she was older at that moment or he heard "I love you" from someone of age in his old life. Basically it was more of a "damn someone finally said I love you to me and its a damn child".

hey nick , I really recommend you watch the OAD 3-5 since they include some important stuff, plus watch the Visions of Coleous after the first cour of the 2nd season since if you watch it in between you might get spoiled.

A lot of people dont like S3 is probably bcause theres very few fight scene and lots of talking. But for me, it's necessary to introduce certain things. It's a world building anime, after all. It's also a build up for future seasons, so without those talkings, things won't proceed naturally.. just my thoughts on that.

I agree the fights aren't that good visually in Season 3. To me it isn't the technical production details, but how they present the fights and what they choose to show. However, one of the few flaws with Slime imo is that many of the fights throughout the series don't really go into what's going on in Rimuru's mind, which make the fights look easier for him than they actually are. The plot follows the light novels closely, which pleases the light novel readers. I'm not sure they executed the plot that well, but overall I think "hate" is too strong a word for what it deserves, although the quality isn't up to that of Seasons 1 or 2. But the quality isn't too far from that. It's just that the point of the story isn't what people want it to be in Season 3.
