If you go back and see Nick's first reaction to episode 10 it's crazy how eerily similar his jokes were lol. He even made the he's not dead and didn't see a body joke both times, even paused in the same spots too lol. It's a trip. Edit: So for the two idiots that commented below. He did not rewatch his reactions to have a script. Also he did that original reaction 2 years ago, stop acting like you clowns could remember exactly what happened from a show you dropped 2 years ago. My comment was a statement on Nick's impressive ability to be consistent in his humour and entertaining his fans. Not a criticism on him intentionally reusing jokes because he doesn't.

FMA loves to build you up just to tear you down. It doesn't do it for shock value alone though. The series uses the low points to push the story forward while the high points let the viewer breath and rest. That's my opinion at least.

His daughter saying "But he won't be able to work anymore if they bury him.", not understanding the concept of death, is such a powerful line to me every time. It brings me to tears everytime I see it. Amazing dialogue. Not gonna lie, the "It's a bad day for rain."-line from Mustang is a bit cheesy but it fits perfectly with his stoic character and the fact that rain makes him weaker in combat. This show's dialogue is written with a lot of care.

I do feel early on this show has some slower episodes where the story doesn't progress so much but when shit hits the fan later on it really does well.

The way I'd always interpreted that moment, based on the manga pannel since I read it first, was that Mustang didn't even realize he was crying, he just felt the water running down his face and thought it was raining
