So now we see why a lot of people have a problem with Amber. She was fine when she was hurt by Mark's behavior until she revealed that she knew he was a hero for weeks now. This makes her come off as a manipulator rather than a victim. I think this could have been written better, but later writing for her helps a lot. Knowing she has 'only' knows for 2 weeks while they've been dating for almost 8 months though, I can understand her frustration before she knew. However, I personally don't think a super hero with a hidden identity should be required to reveal his biggest secret to someone who he hasn't even been dating a year, but that's just my opinion. I don't hate Amber, I think she just suffered from a poor writing decision. Clearly her character wasn't intended to be the manipulator she comes off as here

exactly, in the comics she had no idea so the reaction made more sense and it wasnt as extreme as here lol that's why a lot of us were so disappointed with what they did to her character

Yeah I'm one of the people who thinks her hate is WAY too overblown, especially with how she's handled later in season 2. She said it at the beginning of the relationship that she loves an honest man, and for her to find out Mark's been lying to her for 8 months was her final straw. I think it's also shown explicitly when she only gets mad at Mark when he says he went to call the cops in episode 6. She didn't get mad he left, she was mad he still used another excuse on her.

she didn't flame him for going missing, she flamed him for creating another excuse of "calling the cops". Notice how she didn't snap until after Mark said that? It all ties in to the first time she flirted with Mark where she said she likes an "honest man". Mark wasn't honest with her 8 months into their relationship, so she felt lied to. Was the moment her saying she's known slightly questionable in terms of writing? Yes, but at the same time, she isn't as bad as people make her out to be.
