That isn’t a spoiler, you can make the connections if you remember the zombies. And we were already told his name twice. Maybe nick wouldn’t have put it together but what I said isn’t a spoiler or something that might be revealed later, it’s a speculation. Just type captain john zombie on google and you will see what I mean. Thriller Bark teased this all before.

I hope the crunchyroll awards have showed you how a majority of how anime fans think. Anime with depth are not going to reach a majority when all they're looking for is spectacular animation. Even within the One Piece community how many really care about the story? They'd rather want to see more of the God Valley Incident than sit through Kuma's backstory which is filled with emotion. If the scene has no aura then it's probably skipped. Honestly don't know if these kind of people have empathy.

I agree for the most part but I am someone who loves one piece for the story and writing but I would have preferred to have seen the whole god valley incident over the Kuma backstory. There’s a lot of thick juicy narrative elements in that GV incident and oda is cutting away from it for a reason. And this is to also say that I was always wanting to know what the deal was with kuma, I just would rather an awesome world history/lore filled battle epic with good character writing rather than the tragedy oda gave us with kuma😭

i googled it and went on the wiki and for the life of me, i cannot make a connection between the two unless we're talking about THE VAGUE APPEARANCE. did someone in thriller bark refer to him by his name or something? just appearance can be deceiving, to be honest...

There’s been plenty of women with the same hair colour as gloriosa and the Nami face is the standard pretty young one piece woman face, definitely not enough of a similarity to believe so strongly in such a theory Also there’s nothing saying that all kuja are genetically stronger than other women, they all train as warriors out of necessity to protect their small country.
