Wesley Lambert

I haven’t seen this movie yet. Do any of you guys think it’s better than Your Name?

Ry

🦖

SomeRandomHobo0

My hero was👌 this close to winning mabye another week 😂😂

Azir

Your name is better , but this one is in no means bad ... it's a good one too , definitely worth the watch :)

Edu MP

Did he watch Your Name already?

Bryce Alexander

I do, both are beautiful movies but I give this one the edge. Suzume is best of all though

Shucks

garden of words next, surely

xExelx

You can't do wrong with a Shinkai movie. All of them are awesome! I think "the best" depends on personal liking

RadzioxxD

Mr. Stark... We won

Sora

appreciate that you approach movies like this differently then you would other more action centric movies. glad you enjoyed this movie so much

Wesley Lambert

Guess I’ll have to watch it with nick then! Had to force me!

Hxlo

I know all the ones u will definitely love and never forget

Acropls

I was excited for mha but it's Makoto Shinkai.. the man is goated!

William

People really voting for “MHA” “Naruto” “One Piece” “Bleach” over stuff like this. Insanity. Seriously tho, Shinkai has plans to announce a new movie soon. As someone whos watched weathering with you and Suzume (suzume during the initial release in japan) in theatres before, I STRONGLY encourage you to watch them in theatres man. Just an incredible experience.

Khada

Nick! It seemed like you noticed the characters from Your Name. But just to be sure, Taki is the male lead with the grandma. Mitsuha is the girl who sold the MC the ring.

Hxlo

Now I need to see “josee the tiger and the fish” my favorite anime movie

Jacky

Peak

Popcorn

Garden of Words is the most beautifuly animated piece of fiction I have ever seen. Just wanted to say this😊

Shucks

HE DIDNT NOTICE AT 52:04 NOOOOOO

Acropls

I don't remember if you watched your name just yet but the two main characters are actually in this film! The girl is the clerk that sold Hodaka his gift for Hina and the boy is the older guy in the grandma's house scene

Nathan Wood

I loved this movie so much, was one of my first ever Anime movies. Suzame should be a good watch too, as it actually based around real events (If you haven't seen it already)

perkweakass

just because you think its “good” doesn’t mean everyone has the same taste

Nir

Wwwww

지원

Thank you. This is my fav

ORORA06

Nick, what I recommend is, don't put the mainstream shonen anime movies in the votes with these ones, at least alternate the votes (One week with and one without the former) maybe, or you may miss out on stuff like this for a long time.

Jay

Josee the tiger and the fish is a must watch if you like these kinds of movies

Asuna

We definitely need him to watch "Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms" at some point. The movie is severely underrated and everyone I know broke down watching it due to it being so emotional. Absolute gem of a movie 🙌

linked winters

wolf children next!! ^^ It's the same emotional tone with a completely unique premise.

Azariel 竜月

LOL WHAT , I got mistaken and voted for this one , I actually never saw that one , thought about Typhoon Noruda ! lol well i guess i'll watch this one

I am Here

My favorite movie ever so far

Meunji

Some of this days he need to react on a living room with his wife and just enjoy the movies

yasmina C

omg not the same tone..wayyyyyyy more tragic lol I still can't rewatch it since the first time

yasmina C

i was bawling watching it too T_T

linked winters

ahh, I meant same tone as in emotional over shounen. I certainly agree, I cried like 6 times watching it

BLACK DESANTOS

First time watching this. This is a very beautiful show, art style and the vibe. Love it! But I really hate it when an anime had a young girl as MC and prostituting for money 😭. But thanks goodness, it didn’t really happen. Same with Domestic Girlfriends, it’s a different scenario but I hated the world for a whole month after watching DG because that stuffs happen a lot in real life.

Idris Naama

You definitely can go wrong with a Makoto Shinkai movie and I'm talking about "5 Centimetres Per Second" that movie was so ass because of how it ended. It didn't deserve the amazing animation.

Derxi

yep

지원

He did!

지원

So good

PeakZero

You should do a movie tier list Nick

Simar

Thank God this one won Next Suzume please

ellis✦online

Currently in Tokyo. Raining the whole time I've been here lol.

Simar

bro no way you missed your name camio

Sinbad_Deity

A lot of people work at the age of 16, me included

xExelx

The band you heared is RADWIMPS, they did the soundtrack for Your Name, too! The band and Makoto Shinkai work together for the movies! :) I love Takis and Mitsuhas (Your Name) cameo! Even their friends were in the elevator at one scene. But NICK! I really appreciate the way you reacted to this movie. Your expressions whenever you live in the moment of the art, the music or the story is just pure cinema. I really LOVE your excited screaming, but this reaction was something else. The serious tone from you, complaining about the cruel real life showing in animated pictures. Thanks for your reaction and thoughts! Cant wait for the next Shinkai Movie, if you ever gonna watch it (f.e. Suzume)

yan

the nest movie you should watch is suzume

Kekerek

I want to eat your pancreas (a movie name), and Jose, the tiger and the fish (a movie name) are movies of similair quality I would say.

Asaphior

Day 1 of asking to add 1 more day for TYBW

Avis Pakaya

Makoto Shinkai is so good man. If you are interested in his works then you should also check out "Suzume", "Garden of Words", and "5cm per Second" Outside of those "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas", "Hello World", and "Josee, the Tiger and the Fish" is also a great movie from the same genre

Avis Pakaya

I'm interested on what is the next natural disasters he'll picked next time 😂

Avis Pakaya

I mean it's been 1 and a half years since he saw Your Name. And unlike us who watch Weathering With You because we know it's from Makoto Shinkai, he watches WWY because we choose it for him, so I don't really blame him

Master

So Suzame Next?

JubbleBubble

I absolutely love both your name and this movie; weathering with you is an easy top 3 movie of all time for me. I was surprised you didnt notice the your name cameos, but it was relatively subtle since you saw it 2 ish years ago. If you want another movie thats somewhat like the vibes of this one, "The boy and the beast" from Mamoru Hosoda is another one of my favorite animated films. I think youd like that one a lot tbh

Thomas

The song is by Radwimps

Hxlo

Rewatching this after a very long time made me realize that these types of movies literally can’t be top no matter how many years pass I normally skip around with your reactions but this the first time I genuinely enjoyed your reaction plz do more of these types of movies and less shonen

Hxlo

I actually watched weathering with you first I was a little late on your name but i just realized when I watched this movie again

Hxlo

If there a anime film that will amaze u it would be “when marnie was there” very underrated ghibli movie

Shmeety

Has he watched your name if not he’s gotta watch that and then suzume

Ishkoten

He has watched Your Name couple years ago

S.

Love this one!

Joshua Vaughn

Love this movie same guy that created Your Name. Also it has the characters from your name in it. During the time after he saved her but before they met again at the end.

Joshua Vaughn

Yes please Suzame next. It has the same feel as this one with a great story and great characters. Same attention to detail.

HmoobV4j15

Nick does realize those are Taki and Mitsuha's cameos from Your Name right?

Animevibes

i don't know if you noticed but the jeweler and the relative to the old lady are the two main characters from your name. great reaction!

XI_A_Sourodip Roy

the fun part is your name and wethering with you is made by the same creator MAKATO SHIKNAI the goat

にな

FYI the white ghost is a doll we call teru teru bozu we traditional handmade doll we put up outside window or door in hope of sunny day here in Japan. Not sure if the western culture have something familliar like this or not but most of us believe during our young days.

Pam

Makoto Shinkai is an absolutely genius creating "Your Name" and "Weathering with You" and a few others. They are all like those ones. His last movie "Suzume" has the same amazing animation and music (why people write Suzame ? WTF?) but maybe lighter story. I recommend U the first short Makoto Shinkai's animation too. It's crazy that we live near genius like him.

fromtheconcrete_shoyo

It's been a while since I've watched this anime, and the feels is still there. The songs and plot never fail to amaze me. I haven't watched the third one, but I hope it's great like the two: Your Name and Weathering with You. I hope you'll watch more of this. Shinkai is really great T__T. Wishing for his health always. Oh, Radwimps are impressive too! It always hits the spot.

Pam

You should try every Makoto Shinkai's movies. But the big 3 : "Kimi no na wa", "Tenki no ko" and "Suzume" have easter eggs and you could watch in "Weathering with You" characters from "Your Name" ;) (grandson old lady and ring saleswoman - you know them!) 😌

Orange

If you love this movie you sure like Suzume and Bubble !

RemeQ

easily one of the best movies oat

YannickWega

Crazy that I didn't realize before that the two "Your Name" protagonists are in this movie as cameos 😅

kazu_art_park

This movie makes my heart warm...☔️

JustinP

Suzume next if you want more of this.

Salih Gonlutok

watch maquia when the flower blossoms

Elijah Brown

Was it good somebody tell me imma big sleeper on shit I don’t know

Rocked In

Miku, Aqua, and Godzilla easter eggs are dope

rizqiefajar

Man, I had no idea the movie is this good. I brushed it over back then since I wasn't a big fan of Your Name. This is way better imo. The realism aspect made it feel so impactful

Hxlo

Movies don’t get better then this

Daniel iacomi

51:30 is that her?????? OMG !!!!

Daniel iacomi

YES I 100% agree with you. Movies days should be without shounen. I like shounen, but these kind of movies are in a league of their own and can't even compare. We have 6 days out of 7 main stream anime and shounen. We should have at least 1 day dedicated to something special and beautiful like this movie.

Daniel iacomi

51:40 it's the jewelry girl 100%.

Olga F_i

Go watch Suzume as well,it has same vibe

Tyler Brasher

Nick not watching Your Name before this hurt me so

Asuwww

wdym? im pretty sure he has already watched Your Name last year or something

Rem Natsuki

Nah man it's all good. He's watched Your Name last year. You can find it here on patreon or youtube.

xExelx

He watched it december 2023. Not using the search function hurts me so

xExelx

Something about saving someone and saving/screwing a town/city for it 😂

xExelx

Son of the grandma who hired them is Taki. Jewelry seller is Mitsuha. And Mitsuhas friends are in the elevator scene

Neixz yy

He already saw Your Name

Roosterbärs

Now that we know he can enjoy something other than shonen... Violet evergarden? Anyone? :D

ecreif

Both MC in "Your name" is in this movie

PT

Suzume Next

Super Ryo Reacts

37:22 Love the Aqua cosplayer walking by the Godzilla back there haha! Fun fact: The director of this movie really, really loves McDonalds, so he always works it into his movies officially, or tries to at least. You'll also see it in Suzume as well! I think it was in Your Name too, I forget. He's also been theming his movies around the subject of natural disasters too, as he feels very strongly about that subject.

Arctic_Hokkyoku

Nick would love konosuba, funniest shii I ever seen

Ainz

I think this movie was really made for Nick bro. The decision making and effects from it just synchronize with what Nick wanted. That was hilarious cause I can relate to this too. Watching him reacting this way is really a breath of fresh air on this movie. Happy you like it bro.
