Gurren Lagann - Episode 3 "Who Do You Think You Are, Having Two Faces!?" (UNCUT REACTION)

Comments

Yaros

One day he’ll realize that the quality of 2D animation has nothing to do with the release date XD /j

Hank Kleinberg

Any reason the video quality is a little grainy?

Able Kwok

Yes, it is blurry. Perhaps he watches it on some unusual website?

Able Kwok

Those old animes, they definitely look better than Blue Lock 🤣 Trigun (1998), Ghost in the Shell (1995), Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995), Black Lagoon (2006)

Fabien

Don't mistakingly think it's normal for things to "combine" randomly in this anime, there's a reason for most things in TTGL. Kamina is just very lucky that his absolutely stupid idea, actually worked.

Yaros

I mean, Snow White from 1937 has better animation than most anime today. It’s all about the time they put into it — and how working with limitations can spark creativity

Condoriano

I don't know if I'm just drunk but I just finished watching this show right now and I can't stop crying 😭 😭. So peak!!

Ichigo Fanboy

Yoko is like 14-16 here 😭💔 watch out bro bro

Mobi_fiufiu

she looks like 22-25 imo

A

Nick. On episode 6 be sure to watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Mitee Mono wa Miteen da!!" Special. Instead of the normal one because it seems it is usually a censored version of the episode with recaps instead of the original content

Yaros

Yeah, by the way, I agree with the other comment, the anime looks kinda blurry in your player, and it’s not supposed to be like that.

Marvinios

man its so blurry and just not hd, the anime is not supposed to be that way. Im also watching it atm and its full hd.

FiH Priime

I got it fhd on the vod

Swift_Ninja

Yeah idk why they do this imo. Just make her an adult there’s no reason to make her a kid.

NikoCat11

Oh boy, next episode is the one lmao Prepare yourself for an interesting... direction, to say the least lmao This show is so fire

NikoCat11

It looked good to me here, but perhaps it's cause I'm watching it on mobile and couldn't tell the difference

NikoCat11

It doesn't matter, it's Anime, everybody is supposed to look / be young, not only in order to better resonate with younger audiences, but because Japan (Asia, tbf) correlate beauty to younger appearances. You can pretty much insert any age on them, doesn't matter. If you find Yoko hot, it's because she was made to look hot for adults, make no mistake. And it's fine, no need to overthink, just have fun.

NikoCat11

It is SO peak, isn't it? Pure gold

Condoriano

I've only rated 6 anime shows a 10/10 in my anime list and gurren lagann has the honour to be one of them

NikoCat11

Not only movies, even some weekly series can win in this department. Card Captor Sakura, Rurouni Kenshin, Yuyu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, etc. They may have less sakuga / framed choreography than nowadays due to technology, but they have that FEEL, that special feel. Everything was analog, so every BG was handpainted, much more detailed, had more direction and purpose. Ita hard to explain in one post, but just compare one good episode of Inuyasha to nowadays Anime. Not all of them ofc, it's not about one better than the other, there are strengths and weaknesses to them, hopefully I was capable of expressing myself I'm having issues lol

For those wondering about the quality: On Crunchyroll, Gurren Lagann is capped at 480p. The Netflix version can be streamed in 720-1080p depending on the plan. Not sure about Hulu or any others, I just used a site that had full HD.

kazu_art_park

Which do you like better, KAMINA or SHIMON?🌀🔥

MIce1987

Does Netflix have the uncensored version? Or Crunchyroll?

A

No streaming platform has the uncut version, so he should search on the web the name of the special and watch it there

ryejett

There’s a movie done by the same people called Promare too, btw! Hopefully you can get a chance to watch it one of these days ☺️

Hélio Mothci

hey Nick, please watch the intro. The speech that comes after the intro song. It is super important to the story and super cool too.

Hélio Mothci

Now I'm not even sure if I have ever watched the original one.. Is the original uncut the one with all the bathhouse scenes?

A

Yes, the one with no recaps

Hélio Mothci

it does because both simon and kmaina are also underage and TTGL is a coming of age story, it's important to show the characters maturing from kids, to teenagers to adults. We all know teenagers are horny and since we are seeing it all through the eys of Simon it makes sense for us to see her as "super hot" because that's how Simon sees her. SPOILER BELLOW You'll see how she Simon sees her less and less through the horny lens

Hélio Mothci

He should "get" the Blu-Ray versions in HD/4K He can find it by searching internet "mugiwara style" if you know what I mean

Hélio Mothci

now I'll have to wait 1 week for each episode? NOOOOOOO i'll end up rewatching it all by myself because I can't wait to see PEAK

Hélio Mothci

In torrent a person can find it in 4k =]
