I think of episode 5 as the actual beginning of Sword Art Online simply because it's no longer one episode long stories and instead now progresses the same story episode by episode with barely any time skips. The whole sleep-PK and the mystery of the Golden Apple guild murders do a very good job at bringing more depth to the whole system of SAO. really shows that even though death in Sword Art Online is permanent, it is still just a game, not at all like real life. The upcoming episodes are certified bangers, very reaction worthy.

Then you would know without putting out any spoilers for Nick that Alicization outdoes everything else in the show. I personally prefer Gun Gale over Eincrad, I know that is not a popular opinion and that's all right. But alicization is untouchable up to the current point in the anime.

Why are you assuming this is a spoiler? If it was a spoiler by your definition, then that would mean I'm correct. But it's just an opinion. Additionally, since people are so conflicted about which arc is the best, then that would mean every arc is very close one another in terms of how good sao is. Lastly, the amount of people who love season 1 the most is massive. Why are you hating on me for thinking the first season is the best bro?

New Vibe? Reality games as a setting has been done in anime and anime films repeatedly since way before SOA. "A new vibe everyone likes?" Not everyone does like it, and it's not a new vibe. It's an interesting *spin* on an old tried and true concept with interesting directions and some original ideas for sure... Nothing wrong with loving it. But it's *barely* "a new vibe." *Maybe* it would be fair to say it found a gap in the market *at the time*. And that's ok. My favorite anime have far less originality than SOA, if I'm being honest. It's more accurate to say that SOA revitalized old concepts and brought them to a more modern age, but it absolutely treaded the ground that was laid before it. SOA did such a good job at re popularizing the video game Isekai that it's spawned a million clones...Which when compared to, might make SOA seem incredibly original by comparison, in all fairness.
