Takopi's Original Sin - Episode 1 and 2 (UNCUT REACTION)

Comments

jax lol

was waiting for the uncut version just came from yt

Josh

I’m watching it on YouTube rn. And I can just feel the people who are gonna come for you. They’re so weird abt how people react to the show. EDanime got jumped in his comments

mathgofast

i cant watch this one if u said she does that to her dog xD ima get so pissed

Wiggly Gecko

Genuinely one of my fav reactions from you

WrathInfused

I’m pausing the video to say I’m so happy you want to homeschool, that would be sick. as a homeschooled guy myself, I grew up happy, able to mature and understand life before I met conflict in co-ops and college. As a shy kid who would let anyone do anything to me, pause, I would have been a prime picking for bullies, and as a Christian, I would probably not fight back and just be miserable with no friends. Homeschooling was sweet and I’m currently living comfortably with a decent income. Everyone I’ve met who was homeschooled are great people too, super nice and welcoming. Also, can’t wait to cry again when I continue this reaction😂

Armavel

Its not about morality. But, Nick, if you wish all bad and death to 'bad people'(like evil is justified against another evil), are you really better than Marina? Just something to think about

Mike

This is the outcome of parents who have failed their children ofc it isn’t and excuse for it but it’s an explanation we can’t blame 4th graders for something their parents have failed to do not everyone can be a parent and support another life all the adults in this anime are shit

Thinkace

fuck yh fk that bitch !!!!! LESS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE WINNING

moltmolt

yeah at the end of the day good parenting is key

Vlad

Real villains in this show are adults(parents and teachers) . Bully girl is wrong and should be punished but she just product of her environment. Hurt people hurt people.

stephanie johnson

yea i blame the adults more then the girl. I hate marina but i don't think she's at the age to where she deserves death

xExelx

I'm honest, I was bullied a lot in school (elementary because we hadnt much money for new clothes and stuff) and In middle school, too. I can understand every person wanting those ppl fucking dead, because you only think about "Please let it stop, no matter HOW" I understand everyone, who had to suffer from this, wanting only bad for such ppl. Loved the reaction, raw and honest emotions. But yes, parents and adults are a lot to blame in this story, too

Giorno Giovanna

I would be happy if Planet Happy invades Earth right now.

Christo Badenhorst

Reaction was everything I wanted. great reaction. I feel the same way, at this point burn this fucking village to the Ground, Teachers , her parents. the dead bitch parents. - so far that boy with glasses is the only exception in my books. the rest can burn,

i totally agree with everything you said and i just wanna add something onto this, cause I was thinking the *exact* same thing as you until I gave it a lot more thought. I wanna offer a different perspective that you might not have considered, and you can take it however you please :) Firstly, I'm not about to justify marina's evil actions. The fact is, marina is committing wrongs on so many levels to a good person. None of that is justifiable, and the anime helps in making her so insanely unlikeable, that it's difficult to consider anything EXCEPT murder. However, hear me out This intense reaction that we as the audience have is actually quite similar to marina's thought process. The fact that we as an audience collectively want marina to die for hurting shizuka just goes to show how realistic of a thought process it is. For example, Marina thinks "shizuka is the reason my life is hell, shizuka is the reason my mom beats me, i should teach her a lesson" and we as the audience are thinking "marina is the reason shizuka is hurting, marina needs to die". If our thought processes are so similar to marina, and marina's twisted sense of justice is to take your pain out violently on the next weakest person thanks to her upbringing, it's a believable and tragic situation I wanna say that I agree marina is fucking awful and nothing she does is excusable. But at the same time, reducing a complex situation to a simple "right or wrong" is silly, cause it's a nuanced situation that doesn't have such a simple answer. There are many people at fault, not just marina. Marina's parents, shizuka's mom, the teacher and the classroom around her, and shizuka herself is twisted after feeling nothing when marina is killed. it shows how the situations a child is brought up in can TWIST the mind of children to do some awful things. This isn't at all an excuse, because marina is one of the most evil, awful bullies I've seen in media, and she is utter trash personified in my opinion. Even still, realistically speaking, the only people REALLY to blame here in my opinion are the adults, and it's an awful situation through and through. Children will always be a product of their environment, and bullying is unfortunately a learned behaviour :(

JevCor

I can understand those who want to feel empathy for the blonde girl, youre not wrong there is nuance there, unfortunately I ran out of empathy years ago. I'm in my mid 20s and my life was ruined because of this shit, I can't work, I can't socialize, I can't be around people anymore I just rot in my bedroom waiting to die because of the shit people put me through. The abuse mixed with existing mental health issues that were ignored led me to multiple suicide attempts, one actually did brain altering damage. I still don't wish death on them but I do wish a horrible fucking life.

Orieng

I cant watch this, its too much, sorry Nick

Rem Natsuki

I gotta be honest. I started watching this anime cause of the hype people were giving it even though the theme of the anime is dark. I’ve watched and read too many dark stories and shows that I realized while watching the first episode, her committing suicide didn’t make me feel anything nor the beating the the blonde girl did. Everyone has their own level of trauma so of course everyone will feel differently towards the dark themes. Still a pretty good anime so far though lol

Blake Chestnut

i also think marina's mother is manipulating her to make her feel like shizuka is the problem again no excuse for marina but shitty fucking parenting takes smalls embers of hate and maginfies them, creating a monster.

Kirin

I totally agree with Nicholas, so happy he feel this way

Otiss

This blonde hair girl deserves in Diddy’s party

Fola Olojo

FUCK MARINA. YEAHHHHHHH!!!! Probably top 5 worst villains in anime

Samuel Solis

I like your reaction nick, pretty unique and fresh. Im with u in the opinion that we just let “everything” slide just cause they’re kids. Some justice finally

WrathInfused

At a base level, that’s true, but everything has its context, so I agree/disagree😂. The world is messed up, we need frickin Jesus😁

Mike

Great analogy

WrathInfused

Never seen a more real reaction, I saw the thumbnail on YouTube and though it might be bait, didn’t take Nick for a bullied kid, I was blindsided by how cool he is now😂

WrathInfused

Bro😂😂😂. That’s hilarious

Popcorn

Wow, I see that my opinion on this story is quite different compared to the most of people here(And on the internet) I can already imagine many people saying "I hate the ending", I personally loved the last "arc" and cried a little at the ending itself. Well, I'd like to know Nick's, and your people's opinions on the last 2 or 3 episodes(but I think I can already imagine how most of them are gonna be😅)

Chosen_Undead

i did watch this in my own time, but im not gonna watch it again because of my bad mental health, thanks for the reaction.

linked winters

Yeah. Children do awful things, but it's never because a child is inherently evil. Unless you believe in possession or the devil, a child has to learn that behaviour from somewhere. This show is doing an awesome job at providing reasoning for marina's evilness, whilst not justifying it

Popcorn

I agree with you on many things a lot. If you're an anime only, and that's your perspective going forward you're gonna love this story, and the last "arc" and the ending is gonna hit hard. My comment on youtube I made was: "Excuses" and "understanding" are two very different things. (28:24, nobody said it's justified. They're just showing you the cause, not that it’s justified.) Marina does deserve punishment equivalent to what she did, no matter what happened to her. But seeing her perspective gives you a sense of: “Oh, so there really is no happiness in this world?” Then you see Shizuka "happy" at the end of Episode 2, but here's the real question: “Does that solve anything?” or “What comes next?” That’s only a temporary happiness. Life isn’t as simple as “kill all your problems,” and kindness isn’t always repaid. That’s why kids can be very, VERY cruel, not because they’re evil, but because they’re innocent. (Innocent doesn’t mean good.) But they can also learn, and they can understand. The biggest message of the story, and the key to that understanding is (you'll see in Episode 6😊) P.S. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate your reaction. I just think we have different perspectives on the situation, the characters, and the themes. And honestly, that just shows how amazing this story is. My final words on this story: There are no angels in the real world. There are no devils in the real world. Only people. (Which might be even worse, or maybe better.)

Hans Henrik Hansen

I 100% understand you nick. In highschool we had this guy who lost his father to cancer at age 14. But insted of being kind to others he made it his mission to make everyone elses life a living hell. He would beat the shit out of ppl, badmouth them, tell them to kys throw backpacks in muddy water or over fences so you'd spend hours searching for it. I remember I bought like 20 waterbottles over the time I was playing football. Teachers and football coaches overlooked his behavior because of his family situation. Yet he probably made over 10 kids feel just as bad all by himself. I remember I hated him so much. Mostly because of what he did to others even though I allso was a victim. But atleast I had some friends so I was ok. One time after football practice we got into a fight and I humiliated him infront of all the boys. He was bigger and more agressive but I locked him in place. I coulda hurt him a lot but insted I restrained him. Yet the moment i let go he dug his nails into my arms and bit me like crazy. To me he didn't even behave like a human, and I couldn't stand the guy. After that I had to watch my back for over 8months because he allways waited for a chance to jump me when I wasn't looking. Some people don't deserve a life in this world.

Mohtaj Singh

Imagine playing a video game where you finally defeat the final boss after 100s of tries and the amount of joy you get from that I got while watching that scene. You are not alone Nick, i also jumped out off my bed saying ‘yathhaa’😂. One more thing, in episode 2, when takopi decided to take a different route for walk, I read somewhere she did 105 do-overs, in anime they showed only 2-3. Imagine the helplessness of takopi. Yathaaaa!!

PubicLice

I'm with you. They're just going to look back at these two episodes and not understand what the author is trying to convey

Popcorn

Yeah, but that's just how people are. People don't want to understand, they want to judge because it's easier. And it's quite understandable, but also quite sad. People would read Crime And Punishment and say "he's a murderer, he's evil. But he killed the "bad" lady, so he's good?"

Armavel

Its always been like that. Actually, with the development of humanism, humanity took a significant step forward. I am not very religious person, but if we use terms in more philosophical meaning - Everyone has god in them, but, unfortunately, everyone has a lot inner demons too. We just need to accept this and face them, even if you fell like a shit after this.

Christian Clark

turning that comment into jokes says a lot for you

TheEcno

never felt better for someone dying.

Cursed HellSpawn

I think the Vimeo link is broken, it just leads to the front page

Hans Henrik Hansen

Stay strong, it's a though road and even if things don't get to be the best. It will atleast be better at times. Push on for those moments!

Armavel

It doesnt work this way)

Yuan

Can't lie, when Marina got beat the fuck up I was hyped—but damn, I really thought she just passed out. Nahhh, Takopi straight up caught a body 💀 This is not a good look for Shizuka... But on a serious note, the fact that this kind of stuff happens in real life genuinely makes me sad. I'm 23 now, and bullying was never something I experienced. I'm really grateful for that. Still, watching this makes me think—if I were one of Shizuka’s classmates, I’d definitely have done something like CMON

kngKris

Gotta disagree here, Marina’s hatred for Shizuka is misdirected, selfish, and rooted in envy — she attacks someone innocent out of twisted projection. My hatred? It’s a reaction to witnessing real cruelty, not the same thing at all. We’re not abusing a child — we’re responding to a character who chose to bully, manipulate, and traumatize someone kind and defenseless. Understanding Marina’s trauma isn’t the same as excusing her. Trying to equate our anger with her abuse is not “nuance” — it’s a false equivalence that downplays her evil. Tragic backstory doesn’t erase moral agency. She became a monster. We’re just calling it what it is.

Van Meurs

You're going down a dark path of ignorant arrogance thinking that anyone who has a problem with or disagree with a take of yours can go fuck themselves. To me it just sounds like your being incredibly insecure and defensive about your position without accepting any opposition. Disappointing and pathetic

ita

stood up and applauded when she died

Azariel 竜月

bro that thing had me shaking , I could have broke my hand on my desk at some point ! the blonde kid is garbage , kinda deserve but kinda not , in the sense that she is a kid , she deserve to be taught , to get fcking blasted with a tornado slap, but one that's fair , that's in order to correct her for a good reason, she deserve the BELT of wisdom but not death + FCK now CHAPPY is fcking DEAD TOO !! fck no ! Too great a cost !! Chappy :c .. the adults are the true villain here , specially the one that didn't act , idgaf what you have going you are a teacher , more that that a adult human being , if you she suffering or have even the slightest doubt , do some shit , there's a way .

ita

why is you so emotional calm down brodie

PubicLice

Also to go and downplay sexual abuse/harassment at home as an "excuse" I understand he is a victim of bullying and hopefully it was just his emotions being high due to the video. But that wasn't right to say

Azariel 竜月

it's not about justification or excuses , but explanation on why it and how it happen and what it leads to , to focus on the real problem and the whimsical adventure of an happy man-slaughtering alien ! :D

kngKris

When people like me — and Nicholas, and countless others — say Marina deserves death, it’s not because we’re emotional, unstable, or incapable of “nuance.” It’s because we watched a child get systematically broken by another child who enjoyed it. Marina didn’t lash out once — she relentlessly, maliciously, and personally destroyed Shizuka for existing. Her actions were intentional, brutal, and fueled by envy and hate. And now we’ve got people online trying to blur that line and say things like: “Well, Marina was also a victim.” “Shizuka not reacting to Marina’s death is twisted too.” “Maybe the audience is just as bad as her.” No. Absolutely not. Shizuka is not twisted — she’s traumatized. The audience isn’t evil — they’re outraged. And Marina’s past may explain her behavior, but it sure as hell doesn’t absolve her. Because when you watch a villain torment someone who never deserved it — and then you see others defend that villain or try to equate her with her victim — it feels like a second injustice. It feels like watching Shizuka get slapped again, but this time by the fandom. So yeah, I’m gonna stand firm. Marina doesn’t just deserve to be punished — she deserved the consequences she got. That isn’t being “dark,” or “emotional,” or “pathetic.” That’s being human.

Azariel 竜月

nap she blonde fck didn't deserve how her mom treats her , nor the Takopi reckoning i mean I said it already in my more extended comment i'm just blabbing , she deserved a proper , fair and "good" intended beating , or massive slap , instead she is abused by psychotic manipulative mother cause dad fck around ... sad sad sad

Andrew Tang

There is no excuse for someone to attack another to this extent. None. I can understand Mari hating Shizuka’s dad. I can understand her wanting to kill or hurt or something to Shizuka’s dad. But to extend it to Shizuka and her dog… wow. I see a lot of comments backing Mari… you never went through bullying like this. I 100% back and agree with Nicholas on this. Now I personally don’t want to say I want to kill evil people like this but I’m as hell not going to feel bad for her death. If the story goes on and Shizuka turns out to be evil as well, again I don’t wish for their death but I won’t feel bad about it. This isn’t about being a product of one’s environment, people do have a level of free will, they can choose their destiny and who they want to be. There are ways of causing pain without getting to this level, this is beyond what any good soul would do after going through the worst in life. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR WHAT MARI DOES. I can’t wait to see what happens next… thank you for these reactions Nick

Azariel 竜月

I know I'm yapping but bro nah she didn't deserve that . and I know I understand she is very fucking psycho for doing all that and getting the dog dead so I get it I get the hate , I was bullied too , but what did they do to you bro ? I mean I had it bad , but not that bad , i was a bit "lucky" since i was scared of dying so suicide wasn't an option , so I was like trapped and then I was lucky to not be an American so I didn't have access to guns in the supermarket lol , but bro what they did ? because i feels like they ripped quite a bit of your kindness , I refused to be transformed for the worse because of these shits , don't get be wrong I'd gladly beat them and I kinda did actually ! but that child Marina , even tho she fcked up , she didn't deserve Death , some might truly do deserve it , she deserved many many things and to wear the weight of expurgating but not Death .. but I feel it's in the heat of reaction , and with a cooler head u'd think the same , i mean I hope , over wise they did make a number on your kindness , not that i believe you aren't but it got worn and you let go when it about drawing ! and it's OK ig . and to end , I'd have beaten your bullies bro .

Mike

Ya she deserves some consequences but she doesn’t deserve death you have to put into account that she is a 4th grader her mind is far from fully developed and she is far from making a rational decision. Ya it doesn’t excuse her actions but it sure doesn’t mean she deserves to die. you can’t pin the wrong doing of the adults In this story on the children

Joel

but shes objectively wrong for blaming shizuku, while its clear whos at fault for shizukus suicide

kngKris

She wasn’t confused. She enjoyed breaking Shizuka down. Saying “she didn’t deserve to die” minimizes What she took from Shizuka, How much harm she chose to do, The fact that death wasn’t handed to her — it was a direct result of her own violence spiraling out of control Yes, her environment was toxic. But many kids grow up in broken households and don’t become tormentors. Victimhood explains behavior. It doesn’t erase responsibility. Especially when that behavior ruins someone else’s life.

kngKris

In a story this dark, sometimes the consequence is death. Not because it’s “justified,” but because that’s the cost of evil, even in youth.

Orcward

She deserves pain not death, death is too easy

Van Meurs

@ita expressing opinion equals being emotional, you got me buddy, take a medal

Sumisu_Senpai _

Fuck that teacher as well for doing absolutely nothing. You're really telling me she didn't see the graffiti on the desk? When I was getting bullied my teacher taught me how to put people in arm locks lol

A

On Patreon stop the video, then click on the title on the top. It will lead you to the episode on vimeo

PubicLice

Now im not defending marina's actions. But it's one thing if she deserves death or not, but to cheer and scream happily about a child dying or getting killed is borderline psychotic.

A

Marina got away too easily. She deserved the AM treatment (I have no mouth and I must scream). Look it up. From a bully victim from middle school to high school. Nothing to the level of the protagonist obviously but considering I never had any real friend at school I relate so much to this. Now these times are gone, but fuck you for ruining my school life more than it already was and my life is. Also being twisted in the head like Marina isn't just by things inflicted upon you, sometimes it's just how you are. So fuck her, don't care about her death. She deserved it

Armavel

No ones denying Marina hurt Shizuka — intentionally, cruelly. Thats undeniable. But, cmon, when you say she “deserved to die,” youre not just calling out harm — youre mirroring it. And here your version of compassion has turned into moral violence. Deciding someone is beyond humanity isnt justice. Its erasure. And its the same logic Marina followed when she chose to crush someone she couldnt process.Justice — real justice — isnt about choosing sides and punishing hard enough. Its about destructing logic of harm itself. Marina broke Shizuka. But if your answer is to kill Marina in return, nothing changes. The cycle just keeps spinning — with new hands on the hammer.

kngKris

It’s not erasure to say she deserved the consequences of her actions. It’s accountability. Erasure is pretending her victims don’t matter just because her story is sad too. Marina didn’t snap once. She chose, again and again, to be cruel. And when you become someone else’s trauma, your own stops being the only thing that matters. Plenty of kids grow up hurt and don’t become sadists. Marina did. She was a victim who became the villain. And she paid the price. That’s not injustice. That’s reality.

yulian

having watched this on my own and now with your reaction, this anime has my mind running. We all are our own person. We have unique thoughts, experiences and behaviors. You could share close similarities with a lot of other people, but it will never be the exact same. What we all go through though, is pain. And not pain as in you stub your toe, but suffering and hatred. Each and every person has suffered, some still are and others more to come. Shizuka is suffering because of Marina, Marina is suffering because of her parents. Marina became who she is because of her parents and now spreads her suffering to Shizuka. To spread suffering, you need to suffer. So then, Marina's parents have went through suffering too to end up the way they are, making Marina suffer. Who made them suffer? Their parents? Their bullies? You can go on and on and on. The point is, humans spread a cycle of hatred. It is the main theme in Attack on Titan, and it's ending showed that that will never stop no matter how badly you want it to. Our intelligence comes at a price, the human race will fall by the human race.

matteo nindido

Respectfully, I'm astonished at how ignorant Nick is.. Also, it scares me that he genuinely thinks the death of a child is okay because they are a piece of shit. I can't imagine he'd use that logic in real life.. But the way he is talking, makes me think otherwise.

Galars

IDK how people defend Marina. Yes, she was beat by her crazy mother but that doesn't give her the right to torture another girl and systematically take everything from her. She made Shizuka's every living moment hell. She got Shizuka's dog killed on purpose and taunted her with that, calling her a leech and rubbing it in her face that she has nothing. She is actively pushing Shizuka to die. IDGAF if she was a 4th grader, she died because Takopi defended Shizuka from that violent little monster who was attacking her. Any child that could hurt an innocent animal is pure evil, but more than that she did it to deprive another of their only source of happiness. Fuck Marina, I felt the same way Nic did when she got her head bashed by that camera. If she didn't want to get her hurt she shouldn't have hurt others

matteo nindido

so like.. if this was real life, you'd genuinely be okay for a little girl dying for being a bully? you sick fuck. these kids need therapy, not murder.

Galars

He's not okay with the death a girl who was just "a piece of shit". He was happy about her death because she was a psychopath who was getting more and more vicious. It was already shown that if Takopi had not intervened then Shizuka would kill herself due to Marina's Actions.

matteo nindido

buddy, i've only seen the first episode part but he literally continuously said how he'd want the girl to be killed, and he'd do it himself, and if you say anything against that you are a piece of shit and a horrible parent. im not defending the girl, i'm saying that its retarded to say that a little girl should be murdered for being a bully. she needs therapy, and she had a fucked up life, killing kids is not the answer.

Mike

Yes what she did is bad nobody is excusing that fact but that doesn’t mean she deserved death and being happy that a 4th grader who’s brain is nowhere near fully developed died is crazy she thought with shizuka gone maybe her father will come back and that’s what her 4th grade mind thinks we shouldn’t be blaming these kids we should be mad that the adults in this story and how bad of a job they have done

kngKris

No. She didn't die for 'being a bully.' She died because she systematically dismantled another human being. Stalked, cornered, isolated Shizuka, killed her dog and crush EVERY drop of hope she had left. But you want to chalk to up to just bullying? Yet I'm the 'sick fuck'. If this was real life Shizuka would have been a rotting corpse long forgotten. No reset, no second chances, just another little girl in a grave. Meanwhile you'd be preaching kids need therapy at her funeral. Marina didn't need help she needed to be stopped and yes death was the answer in the ending of episode 2. So, if watching the torment for Shizuka end meant the death of a sadist little girl, then yes IM FINE WITH HER DEATH. If that makes me sick in your eyes, and clearly people agree with the safest pr take, okay say all you want in a sadistic human being's defense. At least I'm not the one defending a 4ft tall devil. Not single sign of redemption or remorse for her actions.

rizqiefajar

Takopi the GOAT. Damn, did you skip the introduction of Takopi and his home planet in the beginning by accident? Glad you still understand though. What a ride that was. Can't blame your reactions at all nick, love to see you being honest as usual. Bullying is such a complex thing. The parents, the environment, the circumstances, the bully... So many variables. In the end, the one who decides to not bully even when the whole world is crushing them is the one who is truly strong.

Mae Gonzales

I guess you've never been severely bullied or don't have a child who might get bullied. Hope you and/or your child gets the same treatment so you'd understand. Have a great day 😀

loLo

Its lowkey fucked tho, when ur classmate's mother has an affair with ur dad, this proves that having toxic family relationship can really lead you to go crazy and literally unhumanize you. If i am raised like Marina chan, I would probably have similar actions as her. (im not defending marina chan btw)

Saleh_redfield

Dude that little bitch deserved more than a camera to the face holy shit😒😭

matteo nindido

i definitely have lol, i almost killed myself in 5th grade from bullying.

Ash

This is a very polarising comments section eh?

Armavel

Stop this bs with 'I dont care about her story, her evil actions > conditions and environment what lead to this'. Its completely ignorant and its used just as excuse for you twisted justice concept. Now point by point. Marina is not a good person — no one’s arguing. She did awful things, and yeah, you could call what happened to her a kind of payback. Fine. Yes, kids grow up, they start to understand world better, they develop empathy and they even reflect and regret their actions. That there is no path from cruelty to remorse — only a one-way ticket to oblivion? Apparently, yes. Because in your world, Marina is a monster with no return. No future. No arc. No chance. Just a villain who doesnt deserve to exist. Easier that way, right? But maybe, just maybe, she saw Shizuka in some similar way - weird, daughter of whore who tore her family apart. And lets be real — deciding a kid deserves to die because it fits your sense of justice isnt moral strength. Its just a way to feel right about your inner darkness. You’re not fixing anything. You’re just getting comfortable with cruelty, as long as it feels earned. That is not justice. That is something you should probably sit with.

Erixzzz

Look, I'm ashamed to admit, but I grew up in a relatively similar situation (a mix of both of the girls' circumstances), yet I never treated anyone else like trash. Instead, I was the one getting bullied. My life was literal hell (as in I was living in poverty and filth), but I never put another person through the same hell I was living through at that moment. It's not a matter of circumstances. Now, I'm 17. I'm about to move out of my mom's apartment and I'm going to live on my own. I haven't forgiven my parents for what they put me through. Best I can do is move on and promise myself to NEVER put someone through the same hell I did.

kngKris

Where was the flicker of hesitation before she stabbed a literal alien thinking it was Shizuku? There wasn’t one. You keep saying ‘she could’ve grown .’ But how many kids have to die waiting on that growth? Because Shizuku was done. She was seconds away from being gone in the ending of ep 2. You don’t get to preach about justice while handwaving an innocent girl’s death just to defend your dream of universal redemption. Not every monster gets a comeback arc. Not every story is clean. And when someone’s entire existence becomes a weapon against another stopping them is mercy for the one they’re destroying.

kngKris

I really don’t what you’re trying to defend, she died so Shizuka could live. This isn’t a perfect world scenario, my position has been and will continue to be Marina deserved to die.

loLo

Nothing to be ashamed of man, we are literally the same age, which breaks my heart even more to see someone as old as i am suffered like this. Stay strong and wish you the best of luck in life :)

Erixzzz

Thanks, man. I'm trying. Good luck with whatever's going on in your life, you'll make it. :]

Armavel

“she didnt hesitate”? She is ten. kids dont hesitate — they snap. they dont know better yet. Thats what growing up is for. “she couldve killed someone.” Yeah — and so could a lot of broken kids. But most dont get executed before they even get a chance to become someone else. And about Shizuka. Its not like you should choice one. Situation is pretty fucked up in general. Shizuka have a shitty family, mother dont care about her, she is a broken girl. Marin death resolves basically nothing. Shizuka will not became beloved and popular girl in class without Marin. In real life examples most likely just some new bully will replace her. Lets kill them all? Same with Marin. Funny, but actually there is even more chances, what without Shizuka Marin could became a little bit better. At least guilt complex + she will lose her main trigger. Its not about choosing lesser evil to protect, you are just killing what scares you and calling it justice.

Lightning

I literally laughed out when she died. I didn't expect that at all. Takopi being so innocent and shizuka happy reaction with the cheerful music is some peak dark humor. If she was a real child then I would say she didn't deserve death and this would be tragic, but since this is an anime, her death was so satisfying and hilarious

Carter Schow

So growing up I actually had a similar yet very different life to shizuka. My dad abandoned me and my mom at the age of 3 and when I was in 6th grade so probably about 11 or 12 my depression was at its worst and the only thing that made me happy was my dog. My depression got so bad that one day I wrote down on a paper about how I'm sorry for what I did and that I didn't want to be alone and I'm sorry to everyone I hurt I can't take it anymore and that was essentially my note to the police about why I if I had not gotten help would've killed my family then myself. So I can't imagine what shizuka was feeling for so long. I did get bullied in middle school but I didn't experience anything near what mari was doing or what others had gone through. I did eventually hit a braking point and beat up my bully but that did nothing for me and made me realize how bad the school system is because not only was i suspended but I was the one who got into the most amount of trouble and its not like the school didn't know what was happening they knew but refused to do anything until something bad happened. I see lots of people defending mari and it makes me sick bc no matter how you look at it mari had no right to do what she did and like everyone says karma is a bitch. I do feel bad for what mari had to go through but still didn't make what she did ok. I fully believe that mari would've eventually have killed shizuka because she was getting more and more violent. If you read all of this i hope you have a good day and if you or someone you know is struggling I strongly suggest talking to someone like a therapist it won't help you 100% but it helps it helped me and I think it could help you.

kngKris

You keep calling it justice when people don’t act. When people just stand by and let victims suffer because “kids snap” and “most don’t kill.” But Marina did. She was ready. And in that moment, it wasn’t a thought experiment. It was real. Shizuka was going to die. You can talk about trauma and growth and “what ifs” all day — but none of that changes what was happening: A girl was about to kill another girl in the woods. And your answer to that is: “Well, kids are broken. Let’s wait and see what happens.” Really? This is the opinion you people agree with? Thats fucking scary. Yes, you do choose one. In real life, when someone is moments away from killing another person, you choose who lives. And you protect the one who never raised a hand. You think Marina dying doesn’t solve anything? It solved the moment. It gave Shizuka one more day to breathe. One more chance to survive. And don’t twist it into “killing what scares you.” Marina wasn’t just scary, she was active, ongoing harm. Someone finally stopped it. You don’t like how it happened? Fine. But don’t pretend doing nothing was better. Because Shizuka’s life mattered more than Marina’s potential. You say you’re not defending Marina — but the moment you say “she didn’t deserve to die,” you’re putting her life above the one she was about to take. How does someone stalk, isolate, torment, and nearly kill a girl — and still not “deserve” death? If that’s not enough, then nothing ever will be. Honestly don’t bother on responding if all you’re gonna tell me are the maybes and what ifs of Marinas life that could have been. SHIZUKA WOULD NEED TO DIE FOR MARINA TO “GROW UP” - is all I’m getting. Because i’ve been understood the whole environment and upbringing dictating your life. Marina is no exception, she has friends shes, goes to school, SHE KNOWS RIGHT FROM WRONG. Stabbing another person, intending to take away Shizuka’s LIFE is inexcusable for a girl her age. Maybe write the story to have God come down from the heavens and give them a therapy session before Marina pushes Shizuka to either commit suicide or kill Shizuka herself.

OpMan

lmao

Bob

I’m lucky I never had to deal with this to this extent, i respect and find it almost amazing some people can feel so much pain and continue fighting, even if it’s just a little. Humans are horrible but amazing at the same time. Ps. I’ll be honest I love shows that don’t hold back and show reality Ps, pt. 2 I mean no disrespect but, compared to older shows this stuff is like a walk in the park

Christian Clark

most of these comments are an echo chamber. but as a parent I'd be mortified if I found out my child killed another for bullying.

Mike

You’re right about one thing: that moment in the woods was real. It wasn’t theory, it wasn’t potential, it wasn’t “maybe someday.” It was right now, and Marina was going to kill her. And yes — if someone physically intervened to stop her in that exact instant, even violently, I wouldn’t call that murder. I’d call that protection. Stopping violence in the moment is not the same as deciding someone deserves to die. You’re not wrong to say Shizuka’s life matters. But you’re dead wrong to say Marina’s death was justice. Her death didn’t end the cycle. It didn’t protect Shizuka from her mom. It didn’t prevent the next bully. It didn’t heal anything. It solved a moment. Not a system. If we define what someone “deserves” by their worst act in their worst moment, then no one is redeemable. But justice — real justice — has to be bigger than that. It can’t be about fear. It can’t be about rage. And it definitely can’t be about deciding at age ten that someone’s life no longer matters. The scary part isn’t that someone’s defending Marina. It’s that people are getting so comfortable saying “this kid deserved to die” — like it’s some clean moral answer. It’s not. That’s not strength. That’s surrender. When we stop seeing kids — even violent ones — as possible people, we’re not defending victims. We’re just preparing ourselves to create more of them. You don’t stop a cycle of cruelty by choosing new people to give up on faster. And yeah, I do believe in the “what ifs.” Because if you don’t believe kids can change, what are we even fighting for? You said, “Maybe write the story to have God come down and give them a therapy session.” No — God doesn’t have to. I want adults to stop failing kids so hard that they have to kill or be killed by age ten. That’s not a writing problem. That’s a world problem.

Alec 21

Marina literally killed the mc in the first episode? One of them was going to die and you want the evil child to live out of the two?? room temperature IQ lol

Wasp_SK

I like that nick came to the conclusion that indeed this earth is a fallen place full of sinners. Not that doesn't mean you should not bring kids into this world. It means you should looks out for them and teach them how to look out for themselves and protect themselves instead of keeping them in an echo chamber or completely letting them off the loose

matteo nindido

?? ive been bullied at 5th grade to the point i ALMOST killed myself. bold of you to assume that. but, i never wished the murder of my bullies.. ESPECIALLY in hindsight, we were just kids, murder isnt okay.

Alec 21

Its clear the mc would have died if Marina didn't die... Did you even pay attention?

Alec 21

Great reaction Nick, Marina defenders act like the adults were ever going to do anything and there was another way. Marina is a psychopath even as a child if you don't see that you are very low iq

GOAT Watcherz ForLif3

The thing that I really find interesting about this show is how it has people divided on their own opinions on one hand you have to ones who say she deserved it on the other you have the ones who say she didn’t it really goes to show that we all are based differently from our own experiences. Which is something that this show does well which is make us question ourselves and test our own opinions and beliefs. Ultimately no matter which side you fall on who’s to say which side is right and which side is wrong because ultimately that’s only your belief of what’s wrong or right. The only for sure thing in this show is the adults thus far are shit lol. Love how this show is able to make me question my own moralities. Hope everyone in here whichever side you fall on can do one thing that often now is not possible in most of the world and that is respecting others for their opinion. That doesn’t equate to agreeing with them but it’s treating them with love and care. So no matter which side you believe don’t let that affect your ability to love someone else

My sister is a teacher here it secondaire 2 but for you it like 12 13year old . One of her student told my sister that she tried to kill herself cause of thing at sch9ol and my sis helped her,she did go to her theater show( her parent didnt go) and all .its would be super if all teacher do this

It’s clear both were fantasizing about the other death , one was just much more active about it , children aren’t humans they are forming humans , meaning they don’t realize , care about the preciousness of a life , or what’s right and wrong . I don’t denie Marina is a piece of shit. But when you are hurt you either seek help , seek vengeance or stay passive and take it . Marina was hurt , and as kid ingrained by her mother ( « you are on my side right ? » From the mom ) she took it out on Shizuka , witch is fcked up but she chose that . Shizuka already had it rough it was sole added shit she could « take » as long as she had Chappy , because she didn’t have it in her to act about it , or that nothing would change if she asked for help , she has a passive and armless reaction toward other . But herself after Chappy dead . Some kid do harm because they feel bad themselves without any external causes, or just because they are bored , these are proper fck that don’t deserve the gift of Life . But here it’s just a sad tragedy from all side , if you don’t see that wtf did people do to you ? And do you believe in adult accountability because you are one now and you should be responsible and act with intelligence and compassion.

cozo

i dont think the girl is in the right, but if you forgave ishida from a silent voice for bullying then what's so different with the girl 😭 and i do agree that just because something happened to someone it doesnt give them the right to harm others, but it definitely does make sense. humans aren't born good or bad so naturally, especially as a kid the kind of things that happen to you can bring you down a certain path whether you want it or not. just because that didn't happen to you doesn't mean it isn't a real thing.

Treat

I would say if he was taking the things marina did to shizuka personally then, he is right. Cause i would kill someone if i knew they could do the same for me.

cozo

it really is just two sides of the same coin, someone who goes through horrible things and ends up simply commiting su1cide or someone who tries to spread that pain to others, they aren't as different as you think. so to watch two people go through the same thing and act like one deserves 0 empathy is just insane to me. i don't think what she did was justified but even then i don't think that means she can't be forgiven

Azariel 竜月

The parents are adults that should have accountability and responsibility toward their children no matter what , if you don’t have the strength of character to take it for your child don’t make them or end yourself idk . My parents had a rough divorce but they always tried their best to not put me in the crossfire , and they never took it out on me. Insisting this was between them only. They loved me. My Dad made effort to stay in my life matter what. I was shit sometimes but they did their best and tried and they were there for me always .

SouldeLuna

Shizuka herself said that this only happened after her mom and the dad became closer. So it was because of the parents. You can feel however you like about it but that is the, supposed, fact of this story.

PennyQuill

it was HER decision to bully Shizuka. Now it is "just" bullying", later it could be something much worse. Fuck her. Some kids just deserve the beating.

cozo

okay sure but it wasn't her decision to end up how she is, we are all a result of our environment and she simply got a worse end of the stick. i don't think what she's doing is ok at all, but i don't think a lot of it is necessarily her fault. you didn't even reply to a single argument i made either 😭

PennyQuill

Boohoo, some kids have it worse and they don't become bullies. Like Nick said, if it was a "typical" bullying then yeah. But BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF HER and ACTIVELY TRYING TO UNALIVE HER DOG??? no, that's waaaaay too far. This bitch got lost in her own anger. These are the actions of a psychopath.

PennyQuill

Your arguments are so weak it's not even worth replying to any of these.

xrmy

God this is a tough watch, when I saw Shizuka's body hanging I swear I cried like never before, absolutely no kid should be treated like that to the point of thinking to end their life.

Christian Clark

it was the catalyst, not the cause. shifting blame even for children solves nothing

SoySauce

I won't go so far as Nick, saying she should die. But I definitely think shes a lost cause already. The way her mind works is psychotic. - sacrifices her hand to get the dog put down. Hurting/sacrificing yourself to deal more damage to your opposition. This is no longer the mentality of a sane child. - Her mother beats her up, her father left her, but at least she still has friends at school. But the things she says to Shizuka as if she won't be satisfied until she takes everything away from her. She knows whats it like to have a dysfunctional family, knows the feeling of having friends, but she actively chose to deprive someone else of everything they hold dear. Shes a lost cause. - Also the eye stabbing thing, wtf was that. If you guys seen the glory (korean drama), even teenagers don't go that far. No amount of rehab will fix her.

Erixzzz

I feel a sense of dread over the fact that YOU apologized for being in an environment or space of mind that you wanted to end your life. I hope things are better for you now.

Erixzzz

What do you mean?

Carter Schow

Things are way better now my mom kinda forced me to go to therapy which I didn't like but it helped way more than I could've ever imagined.

Pimp daddy chopper

Just something weird that I saw on TikTok or insta or whatever that I thought was strange they left out from the manga is that Takopi actually used the camera 101 times trying to save Chappy from getting taken away before realizing it’s inevitable. Just something small to add to the story not the biggest deal cause they get the point across but still kinda sad to know how many tries Takopi went through yet seeing the same result

gynozz

i read the manga. I don't know if I have the strengh to watch even the anime...

Daddy Wuking

i agree with u nick this is wild and we are humans we shouldnt hurt each other and idc about the age its hurts to see things like that irl .

Daniel iacomi

I 100% agree with Nick. Fuck that bitch. She deserves to rot in hell for eternity. There is nothing that can justify that amount of hate and pure evil in such a young child.

kngKris

No one is saying the issues that lead to the events aren’t bigger that just 2 children. Whats your argument, and stop using AI 😂

kngKris

Again, she deserved to die there, not once did I say the best solution to the problem is her death. Stop trying to go AI philosophical on me with these shit generated responses

kngKris

Mike isn’t even trying to argue reality anymore. Life doesn’t wait on people to become better. Shizuku didn’t have time to hope Marina might get better. She was done. Seconds away from becoming a corpse. Thats the truth, I want Shizuka to live and Marina to stop bullying her, what was the requirement for that you ask? TAKOPI ACCIDENTALLY KILLING MARINA.

Mike

You literally skipped over my whole point saying I’m using AI without actually reading what I said🥀😭

Mike

I already said: Yes — in the woods, the threat was real. Yes — if someone had intervened to stop Marina with force, including fatal force, I wouldn’t call that unjust. That’s not the part I’ve pushed back on. That was self-defense. That was Shizuka surviving. That’s not the debate. The debate is what comes after. Whether we call Marina’s death justice — like it was the correct end to her story. Like the system worked. Like her life was worth less because of what she became before she had the chance to become anything else. That’s not self-defense anymore. That’s moral judgment. And I refuse to sign off on the idea that a ten-year-old — however broken, however dangerous — deserved to die rather than be saved. Even if, in that moment, it wasn’t possible. Because yes, Shizuka deserved to live. But saying that doesn’t require saying Marina deserved to die. We can say: The moment was tragic./The outcome was necessary in that moment./But the whole situation was a failure of the adults, the system, and the world — not a righteous execution of one bad kid. If you only walk away from this story saying “Good. Marina’s gone,” you’ve missed the point. This isn’t about choosing villains. It’s about realizing children shouldn’t have to be sacrificed just to make the world temporarily safer.

kngKris

If you walk away pretending Marina’s death wasn’t justice, you missed the point. It’s not me feeling “good” it’s about recognizing what needed to happen for the victim to survive. You can’t have it both ways. If stopping Marina was necessary, and it saved Shizuku, and there was no other option, then yes it was justice. Im not saying all kids who mess up deserve death. Im saying this child, in this moment, went so far off the deep end that the only path left was to stop her permanently. even if the system failed first, that doesn’t erase Marina’s choices. She didn’t have to go that far. But she did. Repeatedly. Without pause. You admit the death was justified, but then refuses to call it deserved because you’re emotionally uncomfortable with the truth.

Mike

what your missing again is that justified ≠ deserved. Just because it had to happen doesn’t make it right. It makes it tragic. But I’m not. I’m saying both things are true at once:Yes, she had to be stopped./No, her death was not some righteous moral conclusion. That’s not emotional discomfort. That’s moral clarity. You want justice to be clean, sharp, and final — but when the person dying is a broken ten-year-old whose life spiraled because everyone failed her, there is no clean. If this were a real scenario, and someone looked at a literal 9-year-old lying dead in the woods and said “justice has been served,” they wouldn’t sound righteous — they’d sound broken. You don’t get to preach about justice while celebrating the death of a child. This wasn’t justice. It was a tragedy. For everyone involved. You keep accusing me of looking away from reality — but I’m the one refusing to pretend a child’s death is a moral victory.

kngKris

Holy shit news flash: justice and tragedy can COEXIST. You agree it was necessary, agree it saved Shizuku, but still refuse to call it deserved or justice. Im not saying celebrate Marina’s death. Im saying Shizuku deserved to live, and that the one who was seconds away from taking her life no longer had a moral claim to safety. Theres no soft kind of justice you keep wishing existed. Certain situations cause for justice to be messy, painful, and still necessary. It was tragic because Marina became a monster. It was justice because someone finally stopped her before she took another life. All i’m doing is standing up for the innocent life who was almost taken away for simply existing.

Shucks

So while what this girl does, definitely isn't a normal reaction to her home situation, at least to this extent. You are right, there are kids who react differently to their situations according to their nature. But she was never fated to end up this way even if it was in her capacity to do so. Proper guidance from adults who do know better is the only way to insure all kids come out okay. Nothing shows up on the sidewalk out of nowhere, behaviors are learned replicated consistently, especially in young kids. They are blank slate, and rarely understand the meaning or weight behind their actions. This is NOT justification, but its important to know where these behaviors ACTUALLY derive from so it can be fixed or prevented entirely. The idea that someone is rotten to their core from birth is wrong and solves nothing.

Shucks

Ishida and this girl are fundamentally different in a couple ways. Ishidas actions initially derive from noticing others around him having a negative attitude towards Nishimiya, and wanting to conform to that. He notes how the one adult in the classroom feels as justification. To Shoya, he was playing a game that made him a hero to his classmates because he lacked empathy. This girl is plain angry, and takes it out on someone she chose herself so she can deflect blame that she doesn't deserve, but of course shizuku doesn't deserve it either. Shoya gets his logic from his surroundings, hers comes internally. While both of them root from the inability to understand the situation from multiple or even a realistic perpespective, one is clearly more malicious. Also, while Shoya absolutely participated in physical abuse, he never BEAT Shouko like this, even in their physical confrontation it was more of a scuffle. He also didn't hurt himself in order to rip away the lone companion of the bullied. Her actions run colder, even if theres clearly something upstream causing the behavior.

Shucks

So while theres clearly something wrong with the girl, and it shouldn't be justified. Nothing shows up on the sidewalk out of nowhere. It's not as though these people are born with a pre-disposition to do this. This behavior has always been and always will be derived from some form of influence. Even if there is something wrong in the head, this is NOT a natural reaction of that. It is crazy to think this little girl would act this way if not for her home life or other influence. It's also crazy to think everyone would react the same way, but thats why proper guidance for every kid is important. Kids CANNOT know better if they aren't taught, their environment is completely controlled by adults around them. Thats not justification, thats understanding where it comes from so it can be fixed and hopefully even prevented in the future. This is just an anime, so whatever. But remember that adults "not caring" is what causes this in the first place.

Mike

I’m not dodging the truth I’m literally staring straight at it, bro. What happened in that forest wasn’t justice. It was survival. Simple. Nobody said Shizuka didn’t deserve to live I’ve made that clear multiple times. You want to call the outcome justice because it preserved Shizuka’s life. I’m saying that justice requires more than a corpse and a temporary solution. The reality was: there was just a child — a broken, violent 9-year-old — who was never taught how to process her pain, and another child who barely made it out alive. That’s not justice. That’s a system collapsing on two kids and calling the wreckage “necessary.” You say Marina “lost her moral claim to safety.” But think about what you’re really saying: That a 9-year-old, raised in neglect, trauma, and silence, earned her death. That a kid who needed serious, immediate intervention didn’t deserve to live because no one got to her in time. And you call that justice? Really? You’re right that tragedy and justice can coexist — but you’re acting like they did here. And that’s the problem. Do we call this justice? Or do we call it what it really was — a tragedy caused by every adult who failed both of them? You’re not standing up for Shizuka by calling this justice. You’re just proving how quickly people are willing to write kids off when they become inconvenient. This wasn’t justice. It was a failure.

kngKris

I’ve heard this same take over and over again and its been mainly from you. I don’t fault you for standing in comfort with theory crafting, but I’d rather look at what the show is literally giving the audience. Shizuka’s life mattered now. Not in a future that might never come. If stopping Marina meant saving her, then that was justice. However sad, however bloody, however necessary. Nothing changes this fact.

Mike

The story gave us a dead 9-year-old. Not because she was evil. Not because justice prevailed. But because no one helped her in time. And that’s the part you keep skipping over. You keep saying Shizuka’s life mattered now. I never denied this. But protecting one child doesn’t require erasing the humanity of the other. Two broken children, left alone in a system that never protected either of them, until one died. That isn’t theory. That’s what the story literally showed us. So no Marina’s death wasn’t justice. It was what happens when justice never shows up at all. What was really deserved was for both of these kids to have adults who didn’t fail them.

Animequeen_xx

Takopi beat her with a camera was best thing ever 🤣🤣 so satisfying damn.

Madara Uchiha

People are born with evil, I don't care what you go through in life, i was beaten by my father into a pulp every other night, never was i once bad to someone, if you get treated badly you'll be better to others

Madara Uchiha

I agree man, having a bad family or childhood doesn't justify or gives a reason to being evil and leading another child to do the act, it's that one time where kids should be punished like adults

Shucks

Im sorry you experienced that, and I'm glad you were able not inflict that pain on others. But that doesn't discredit how people work as a whole. Some people would react differently to your situation, which is why proper parenting is needed for everyone. Even if you are born with the ability to be a terrible person, that does not mean you are fated to turn out that way. That is simply not how people work. Everything is derived from something else.

nah u sound like a victim that lost and gave in to evil now you arent any better than those bullies

Umarkuly Komekow

I don't agree to that. Every human has a free will. Even a child of a murderer or an addict can choose the right path, on the contrary, child being raised in peaceful environment doesn't guarantee you that he will raise as a good person. Life choices matter from the very beginning.

Yeah, the system is fucked. My bullies drove me to overdosing and the only outcome of that situation (except for mandatory hospotalization) was that I MYSEFL was expelled from the school dormatory, because they didn't want to have anything to do with it. None of my bullies ever had to face any issues regarding the bullying itself.
