i love how in this episode you can see that asuna tries to approach kirito, she likes him and doesnt want him to be solo all the time but she knows hell never aproach anyone because hes such a loner. thats why she went to look for him in the beginning instead of writing him a message and why she ran to and hid behind him after kuradeel stalked her. Shes his superior and stronger than him, she could have dealt with it herself in episode 6 she sent him the friend request because she realized it even then in episode 7 in the part you skipped before the opening, we saw that they went on dates and kirito gave her earrings

BANGER EPISODE I'm glad you appreciate the world building in this anime. They go into so much detail about the game's mechanics and systems that I feel immersed in the world like I was really living there. Next episode is one of the best ones in my opinion I'm excited for it

One of the best things about SAO is the relationship between Kirito and Asuna (i say this a lot). Most people when getting into SAO just expect there to be a whole lot of fighting and game mechanics, but there is so many well done character interactions and world building that don't leave you bored like how Nick got tired of Slime season 3. Apart from some small fan service moments like the boob grab, Kirito and Asuna's relationship is so natural. Most of the time they are both incredibly mature and confident, but they can also be cute and silly together. SAO is mainly a shounen, but the romance genre is very apparent. Next episode will go crazy 🥵

Also for the record clearly the pacing is extremely fast and they skipped many floors, so they made these movies, which are still releasing showing a more in depth depiction of their time in Aincrad. The writing is great and it’s honestly my favorite part of the SAO franchise probably

there nothing wrong with season 2 but i couldnt see two full seasons just in aincrad. i will always say if they did that sao would have never got as big as it did. So i like that were getting movies of it not but i'd really prefer a new season too continue the story.

Aincrad arc had the most potential. It had the best world building of any season but it was kind of wasted being only 14-15 episodes. Imo if it was like 50 episodes everyone would love sao

Many people don't know that SAO was written for a contest which had a typing limit, which is why Kawahara extended the Aincrad arc afterwards and also started the progressive series

I love how each episode we can see Kirito gradually heal from his trauma of losing sachi. Then this episode Asuna broke that down by essentially reassuring him that she is someone equal to him. That she is the one person he doesn't have to feel an obligation to "protect"
