Yeah I won’t lie this episode was weird to me like the way they just basically accepted being Yui’s temporary parents while agreeing that she probably had real ones was odd. Their reactions to the situation just seemed unnatural.

There are weird things in this series, there is worse to come but i recommend to just accept it. This series have great moments and is enjoyable despite that. It’s like fan service in one piece and Naruto, i had to learn to look over that and by doing that I earned great shows who i could easily miss if I couldn’t look past that.

Rewatching SAO and honestly, the pacing in the Aincrad arc is a mess. Not just fast or slow — it’s inconsistent. Episode 10 feels like it’s on 2x speed: Heathcliff duel, assassination attempt, Kuradeel drama, and Kirito proposing to Asuna — all crammed into one episode. Then episode 11 suddenly slows down to like 0.75x speed. It’s weirdly sluggish and stretched out. The story keeps moving, but the energy just drops. The hype goes up and down like a roller coaster, and because of that, big moments — like the Heathcliff duel or the Kuradeel betrayal — feel weirdly anticlimactic. There’s no time for anything to settle or hit emotionally. Honestly, the whole 9–10 episode block should’ve been stretched across 4 episodes. Something like: Ep 9: the boss fight + aftermath, cliffhanger on Starburst Stream with Asuna running to Kirito Ep 10: introduce Heathcliff properly, set up the duel, explore the tension, Kirito joins the guild Ep 11: build out the Knights of the Blood Oath stuff, give Godfrey a few scenes (even back in ep 10) so his death actually lands emotionally. End with the cliffhanger of his murder + Kirito getting tortured Ep 12: mid-season finale — resolve the Kuradeel arc and really frame him as the “main villain” of the first half. Let the conflict feel earned. Show reactions from the guild, maybe bring in Agil, Klein, Lisbeth too. End with the proposal. That way, Kuradeel could’ve actually felt like a legit antagonist rather than a random psycho who shows up and dies in 10 minutes. And the current ep 11 would work way better as ep 13 — the start of the second half of the season.

Actually, I wouldn’t recommend watching Progressive right after Season 1. Yes, it tries to recapture the style of the original Aincrad arc, but the difference in animation quality is pretty noticeable. Jumping from modern 2022 visuals back to Season 2 might feel jarring and hurt the overall experience. I think the best approach is to watch the Progressive movies after finishing Alicization

Imgn I quit SAO after S1 part 2 and even tho ppl have said it’s gotten better, I’ve never picked it up again, but nicks whole reaction and come back for some of these moments are borderline reminding me of the Abridged episode and I’m laughing me ass off all the time. Somehow his light comments make it a lot more enjoyable. #NicholasAbridged

I don't know if you know how SAO started. It was a short wrote by Kawahara as it was for a contest with a typing limit. Kawahara later on added side stories. The anime tried to put these later released side stories into a chronological order. Due to all this the Aincrad arc doesn't feel very fluid sadly. Everything afterwards was a planned and written out story so it doesn't have this issue anymore. Because the author liked to write a coherent and chronological Aincrad, he started the series "SAO: progressive" This story actually shows why Kirito and Asuna are so close to each other. They spent the first 11 floors together and only parted ways later. They already liked each other way earlier than what we have seen in the anime

Theres a story called sugary days from the LN that contains what they did on their honeymoon and its chapter 16.6-16.9 and although its not as explicit as chapter 16.5 of them having sex which for that chapter is canon cuz the author wrote it but non canon cuz its not in the book but in last episode they did have sex n in sugary days its heavilly implied they had sex alot on their honeymoon even tho they dont out right say it if u use ur brain n all the hints n descriptions on top of art panels of them being naked together drawn by the actually arts of the series n writen by the author theres 2 that i remeber one being kirito shirtless while asuna is layin on his chest without anything on covered by a blanket n the 2nd one that i remeber is them in the bath together

He was talking about in this episode that theyve been fckin but its not shown or implied that they have been doing that on their honeymoon in this episode when in reality there r chapters in the LN that tell u about what theyve been doing on their honeymoon and its heavilly implied but not explicitly stated that they r having sex n its not heavily described like it is in chapter 16.5 which is canon cuz the author wrote it but non canon at the same time cuz its not as detailed n described in the LN n in sugary days theres panels of them in the bath together n laying naked together
