ABSOLUTE FUCKING CINEMA

Able Kwok

I bet Nick is going to cry on the second part of TTGL, just like me.

Cayn

Its TIIMMEE

Fuzecore

Man this was so peak

Gael

can you do 2 episodes the next week just to "skip" the 16 and see the 17? please just this time :"c

Fabien

The recap is actually very well-made (for once). But I understand that for a reaction you may prefer only new eps.

RawDuck

Damn I forgot how amazing quality this episode had, story, pacing, music and don't get me started on animation. It outstands most of the anime these days and that came out in 2007. This is so crazy.

David Garcia

11/10 episode. I will never get tired of re-watching this episode. You said it perfectly Nick. Its scene's and episodes like this one that are the reason I watch anime. Pure Cinema.

white_cap

i feel sorry for those who havent watched this anime

Alex

nah because they show some stuff about lordgenome's past that would reveal some spoilers of what is to come.

IfYouSaySo

In another reaction I think he said he was going to watch both movies anyways.

Hélio Mothci

had to pause at 15 minutes mark just to say: Nick you bastard! I always knew you'd LOVE this anime like no other before or after. This is PEAK ANIME, PEAK OF THE PEAK! Dude, I'm also screaming and I've already watched it at least 6 times. Let me tell you, it only gets better EDIT: I just wished I didn't have to wait 11 weeks until we reach its end. 2 eps a week would be perfection, but I'm glad, nonetheless. \o/

Hélio Mothci

"What does that mean? We're gonna have to drill through the moon?!" Nick, you have no fucking idea! hahahahhaa

Hélio Mothci

this was Earth's peak. Nick is not ready for what's to come, not at all. Amd I'm all ghere for it

Chortle

You should check out the dub of this ep. Spiral king english VA is actually so good

Marlon

PEAAAAAAAK

Marlon

You're right Nick, episodes like this are full of that anime essense that you can't get anywhere else. TTGL is absolute peak, Gainax was an unbelievably goated studio and I'd love for you to watch some of their other stuff like evangelion

coldpilled

actually peak. forgot how good this show was. one of the first anime i watched

SMastar

@19:11 That's because this anime is one of the GOATs. Only FMAB even compares to it but thats more because it is longer and has more story-telling. As far as just sit down and watching for fun, Gurren Lagann is one of a kind.

Fabien

Don't say too much guys. It's ok so far but remember that the best way to spoil an experience and ruin a surprise is to say people they should expect something at a moment or another.

Hélio Mothci

I agree completely! FMAB is more mature on the surface level and in its style and presentation, and it's also longer than TTGL. But for me TTGL is a representation of everything that makes me love anime as an art form. TTGL is my favorite work of fiction. Nothing ever moved me so much, made me tear up, laugh, scream of happiness and sadness, it thought me how to deal with the loss of my Kamina, how to find my self confidence and how to keep moving forward ALWAYS! If there's a wall in my way I'll breach through it everytime with my drill and my drill is my soul. I love this anime too much and I always knew Nick would love it too.

AnimeMugE

Ah yes timeskip time lets gooo

DaArk RaIn

please skip episode 16 ! can't wait to see you see the time skip !

DaArk RaIn

YEAH MAKE 2 EPISODES PLEASE !

Joshua Partridge

So happy you’re hype about this This anime is goated with the sauce

Phoenix

Definitely either skip the recap episode or watch both the recap and the episode after at once

Raz S

Oh.. memories.. ❤️✨

John Rudd

Yeah the reason that it reminds you of Cyberpunk Edgerunners is because that was Trigger and they're comprised of the animators that made this. I believe at least, and the thing about this is that it was done by gainax before they fell through and they're only known for doing tits/ass and mecha anime.

nokes

Gurren Lagann is the anime that got me addicted to anime. been chasing this high ever since.
