Sadly, this is where my Eminence journey ends. Not a fan of it. I gave my full thoughts and review at the end, if you wanna know.

I will replace Eminence with either a second episode of JoJo's, Boruto, or Made In Abyss

I respect the decision of dropping something you don't like, but sometimes it's a bit confusing since the way you react makes it seem like you are really into the series.

I honestly can't blame you on this. The anime dragged out scenes 4x longer than the manga, and even added unnecessary fan service that the manga didn't have(and this continues on in season 2). I'm not saying you should, but I definitely recommend(in your own time) just reading the manga instead.

I didn't liked the series because it has no concrete story. It has just stories which are connected to each other or not. The series dont tell it to you

cid isn't the character in this series your meant to take serious. saying you don't care about any character at all to me is just crazy. I'm just disappointed due to the excitement I had for you watching this show I thought you'd like it enough for season 2 plus future seasons. thank you for finishing s1 though.

Regarding GINTAMA, I really hope you'll watch it. I neglected it for years bc of prejudices - I only saw all those "funny" 'Out of Context' videos on YT and was like nah, not my cup of tea. Much much later I gave it a try and got blown away!! The show is not a full-comedy show. It has heart, it has depth and made me burst in tears, sometimes from laughter and sometimes from the sadness (I never expected to get my heart broken by this series). Then I understood why ppl always say it's the Big 3 + Gintama. Truly a Dark Horse 🐎

I mean, I understand this one, but slime I don't. I mean i get you get bored but i always tought to myself, don't you like wordbuilding? and slime story goes way deeper afterwards but in order to even enjoy the fights and future storytelling, you need those wordbuilding moments, and yeah it wasn't great with all the meetings and shit, but it couldnt have been that bad. every great show we`ve ever watched had those episodes where it just is a bit boring but nothing we cannot pass for the love of the show. not complaining, just im not understading the thought process

Honestly i donnt blame you, you make some good points and season 2 youd most likeley feel the same about. I think another great anime is Overlord a great anime with great music, plot and fights

It's ok , understandable , i'm also annoyed by Cid , I love Shadow , it's the point I think , like i said this show is way more enjoyable as a binge , and to react to it's better for a compilations stuff , was fun anyway , check S2 on your own if you want ! much more plot imo than goofy shit . I both like a dislike the horny , although here it's serving narrative in a way , i guess it depends , good entertainment with peak moment but not a life changing anime ! hopefully it's 2 ep of made in abyss that makes it !

2026-09-06 19:00 I definitely liked this conclusion of the show than the one you had on Twitter. You talked about what you liked and didn’t like. There are a lot of people that are not into this anime and this genre but I am glad you gave it a chance. And I could tell you were faking some of the reactions midway through the season. But despite that you finished the season. Yeah this anime has its moments of it being really good, but it also has its moments that can be boring. I don’t think you would enjoy most isekai anime’s due to a repetitive story line which is totally fine and acceptable. So thank you for watching eminence in shadow :>

it's just not for you, don't worry about it. to me, what makes it good is the way the story is told, everyone is SUPER serious about everything, waging their lives in each and every fight, meanwhile shadow is trying super hard to be able to say his corny lines, not taking anything seriously because he's just way too powerful for anyone else. if he really wanted to, he could just take over that entire world super easily, but his goal is literally just to have fun. to him, life is literally a video game, and in that video game, he plays as the corniest motherfucker known to man with an immortality cheat on

I dont think this anime should completely turn you away from comedy anime. Eminence of shadow is a very niche type of comedy that doesn't stick with everyone. Anime like Konosuba, Kaguya love is war or Saiki K are all great series that i hope you try out someday. It would be a shame you exclude them from polls just because you didn't like this specific comedy series

The show is a comedy. It's never serious even when it seems to be (which is part of the comedy). If you don't vibe with the comedy, you're not gonna like it. Period. It's cool that you gave it a chance and finished the first season though

The thing about Cid’s character, the reason he doesnt seem like hes taking anything serious is because everything he does is honestly made up, The cult of diablos he got it out of the book and coincidentally that was a actuall evil organization if you notice every line he says as shadow hes just playing a character and making things up and coincidentally they are actual things thats happening its like telling everyone your name is John Smith and you find out your real name has been John Smith

Not every show is for everyone and that's...kinda what makes them worth watching. A show that caters to everyone is a show that caters to no one, and anyone who disagrees with that is objectively wrong. The worth of a piece of entertainment is all an opinion piece no matter what, and whether it's good or not only matters based on what YOU think about it, not anybody else. In summary, shut the fuck up and let the dude watch what he wants to watch. Subbed for the show, glad I unsubbed a few days back. Dude didn’t even pay any attention to the show at all and doesn’t understand that it’s not supposed to be taken seriously. I’d have been fine if he was dropping it after actually watching it, but nope, he just has to make comments every single moment thinking he’s being funny or something, and this just keeps repeating. Same happened with TYBW. He just talks over everything and then says “it’s not a good show/episode”

The ecchi aspect is supposed to serve the comedy, yes, but unfortunately it's just very simple comedy and usually doesn't fit, like here. Don't throw comedy anime overboard. The good comedy animes are worth trying out. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, Konosuba, or Gintama. If you don't like any of those, then comedy animes aren't for you, because you can't get better comedy in anime. ^^

I do agree with Nick. Season 01 was not that captivating. I do think Season 02 does come into its own but I also do think that major appeal of this series is that it was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the over saturation of modern day isekai whereas Nick only started delving into Isekai. Its like watching a parody of something before watching what it is parodying.

I would have liked you to react to season 2 more than season 1 because i think its better but thats okay. Even so i cant really tell if you understood the story what is also maybe why you dont feel the characters. But over all i love your reactions to any show

This series put hidive on the map, so I’m really surprised by how good they were able to make season 1 with extremely small amounts of funding. Then season 2 came, and then we came, and it sucks that Nick didn’t but I can always watch it on other channels. It was nice while it lasted. 🤓
