With Full Metal ending this week, we’ll be starting PRISON SCHOOL next week!

I hear a lot of people saying to watch it in dub. So I’ll put this poll here and see what yall want more

I will try both sub and dub, since alot of are asking for dub.

My thing is if you speak Japanese then go ahead say sub is better but if you don’t stop one only my best friends does and can tell the accents and nuances apart there’s lots of subs that the subtitles aren’t picking up everything due to it being a untranslatable thing

Part of the reason Eminence was dropped was because the humor of it did not land, that is because it is Japanese and not targeted towards western audiences. Prison School is still funny in Japanese but won't hit the same as it does in English, which is targeted for western viewers and thus has western humor. Even though sub is getting more votes, there is no doubt you would enjoy dub more, Eminence is proof of that.

There are so many animes that deliver such incredible English voice acting. Attack on Titan. My Hero Academia. FMAB. Dragonball. Death Note. Solo Leveling. SAO. I could go on. I love sub in a lot of aspects, and I appreciate it very much... but when it comes to hitting certain vibes like comedy or emotion, dub can surprise you. I'd recommend dub for this just for the comedy aspect.

Unfortunately shonen makes up a larger and more substantial part of anime. I don't think you're right. Even SAO goes far beyond shonen into romance. JoJo also with its comedy. Nick has already watched various genres including seinen, isekai in addition to shonen and more. Dub is much diffrent than English sub. In dub they translated jokes for English people to understand. In sub they translated straight from japanese without changes. Im watching anime since 2011 so I got used to japanese comedy not to English. Man I've watched so much English comedy movies as a kid and adding that comedy into japanese for non english foreigner is not good mix

This is a tough choice. Normally, I'd absolutely recommend going with sub, and this time too. But fast-paced scenes of prison school might be hard to follow with sub. On the other hand, dub optimizes those funny scenes for English, making them easy for your ears to pick up.

Sao were really amazing when I was 16 and got me really hyped because i hadn't seen anything better back then. After years when I saw again one episode of sao I realized how average was it. Good show but nothing more. Jojo I didn't watch all of it but its clearly more shounen than anything else. I've watched about 15 episodes and gave up. Not for me. I don't think various genres. 80-90% of his content is shounens. New season = new shounen to watch weekly. Now is one punch man and month ago was gachiakuta, kaiju. Every pure comedy, romance, seinen are avoided. I've watched a lot series and shounens and for me series like that are a little bit boring. That is why prison school is a series which keeps me here on patreon. If nick is gonna watch with dub I will delete my subscryption and come back after some good series will upload here

Yeah. But to be fair towards the sub lovers, I didn't grow up with the English dub. Like everyone, I watched the classics/long-running anime in my native dub (German) at first, so nostalgia hits differently for me. Of course it's mostly sub now, but sometimes I also enjoy dubs, to binge through a show without paying too much attention to it. (including the above mentioned) On the other hand, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: I would never watch it in English or Japanese, because in MY opinion the German dub is superior! One example: when David steals the car and looks at the intro, in the English/Japanese dub he just said "Wow". Meanwhile in the Ger dub he said; "Wow, real frog-pu$$y leather"! 🤣
