I will be watching EVERY NEW Anime of 2026.

Very nice. Don't worry about the info dump in fate. All you need to know now is that we are in a battle royale of mages using heroes from the past to win the Grail. You will understand the other stuffs later in the main series (if u watch)

Fates going to be so painful for nick because its all based on historical character and folk tales and this dudes about as well read as an ape. still at least it'll be pretty sakuga to keep his monkey brain happy. Essentially what you watched at the end is two Demi Gods fight. Gilgamesh being humanities oldest heroic figure/folk tale who was the original king of mankind and Enkidu a clay monster sent down to kill him by the gods only for them to become best friends lol. Gilgamesh is the king of heroic spirits, so he literally has original copies of all of their noble phantasms in his treasure vault also has the ACTUAL Holy Grail in there which is why he keeps referencing everyone in the war as treasure thieves. The reason this is a bad starting place is because lot of this is just fan service to us who already know who these characters are. We understand all the references (they wont be explained btw) you wouldnt. The other Fate shows tell the same story 3xs so its easier to eventually grasp whats going on. This is just a spinoff of the original series with some reoccurring characters. Also they get referred to by their class becauses their names are important. Knowing who someone is can help you defeat them as they all died once right for example knowing you're fighting Achilles you would know then his weakness is his heel etc etc.

That Fate Strange Fake fight was nothing btw. You can treat that Gilgamesh Enkidu fights as 2 friends hanging out for the first time in years. They were just messing around. I've been in the type-moon fandom since I was like 10 years old (even was at the Fate 20th anni concerts in japan last year). The franchise/series as a whole is just so insanely interesting and mindboggling compared to anything else imo. I remember back in my first year of highschool I wrote about Gilgamesh/the overall time period back then of Uruk and such; outside of the required sources, much of my paper unironically was just knowledge I picked up about them from the fate franchise.

Sadly I think Nick should’ve watched Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night before Fate/Strange Fake for better understanding but at least he’s watching Fate and if this gets him into Fate then I’m happy for it.

I think the best way to watch Fate is to just continue consuming it. There's no watch order and you just gradually start to understand what's going on. The series is massively confusing for new fans because the exposition is dogshit lol

I kinda don’t agree with this since there are some series that do a really good job at explaining like Zero and UBW compared to the other Fate shows. U have ppl that understand Fate because of those shows because they do a pretty decent job at explaining the basics unlike Strange Fake. Obv best way to consume it is the VN but not many ppl wanna play a VN or have time for that.

Nick, no matter which Fate you will watch it always be confusing at first. The way Fate works is you just keep watching each one and you will gradually develop an understanding of what's going on. People recommend Fate/Zero and Fate Unlimited Bladeworks because they are connected and there's reoccurring characters from each one. I hope you pick it up because Fate is just peak sakuga the entire time.

No, people don't recommend those BECAUSE of the connection. While the connection is a good addition, the reason those are recommended are because they are the two Fate shows that explain everything the best,

Yeah, a lot of business and political shenanigans ruined OPM S3. J.C. Staff has always been a solid studio for a long time. Toaru Kagaku No Railgun is in my personal top 20, and it's made by them. Tamon's B-side shows what they're actually capable at.
