Based! The sub is amazing for Dragon Ball but in my personal opinion I think the dub is just better and probably the best dub for any anime that I've ever seen still. Only issue with the dub is that in Super they replace Japanese vocals of an insert song into English vocals which don't nearly sound as good imo. I think people will know what I'm talking about.

Shit.... English dub 😭 But still W that you're trying. Early episodes of Dragon Ball are mostly road-adventure comedy. But the further you go, the better it gets. And fight choreography is still impressive to this day 🗿

Absolutely don't skip DB. It's not boring except for certain arcs like Red Ribbon. He could skip that entire arc imo, and probably another (isn't there some Emperor Pilaf arc that's nonsense?).

Ooo, so often people just skip straight to Z, because that's what's popular. It was all just one continuous story in the manga, so it's nice to see a reaction to the whole thing. Skipping to Z is like skipping over Naruto and straight to Shippuuden. It's rather silly if you ask me.

Nah it def ain't like skipping Naruto and going straight to Shippuden because of how big the genre switch is in DB to DBZ. Plus for DBZ you can skip and understand pretty much everything since there aren't any big things in DB that happened where u might need backstory when watching Z aside from maybe Piccolo.

The english dub does change lines but it's def not a disservice and he basically is a superhero especially when you read the manga. Plus English dub does a better job at voice acting imo. More effort plus they actually change VAs when he turns into adult which is much more realistic than sub.

I WILL be getting hate for this but please either skip GT or watch it after Super. Canonically, considering the timeline, it even makes a little more sense this way. dude yes. You wouldn't believe how many DBZ "super fans" haven't seen the OG. The pacing is pretty slow early like most shows at the time but it has some super sick (dark af) moments and makes you appreciate Goku in the later series more

I am one of the apparently few people that dont like dragon ball. I watched the og on tv as a kid, watched the entirety of z some time later and tried watching super a few years ago. It bores me now... action alone can only carry a show so far. The fights all look the same to me anyway and just splashing different colours on the attacks or the hair doesnt really help. BUT i will try to reset my opinion, watch the reaction and see if a fresh start can change my mind.

Late to this but hell yea! Personally I think I'm one of the few that enjoys the sub more. Idk why I just find a few voices in the dub annoying af and I can't stand them (thankfully not many of the MAIN characters tho) and I originally watched all of DB to Super in highschool in 1 go via the japanese version so I'm more used to that but I have watched quite a few scenes in dub too and don't HATE it. I just prefer the japanese in this one. I don't really like Goku's voice when he's getting angry in English too. The weird whimpers he makes are just kinda cringey. I'm honestly fine with female goku. Sure a legend anyways

Faulconer didn't even compose the music, it was 3 other people, he just took the credit. Also, that music is only available starting during the Namek Saga of a specific version of Z. You have to go out of your way to find it
