Nick, I started the Kingdom Hearts series on KH2. I got the whole idea of light and darkness, but they mentioned names of characters I didnt know. I believe Strange Fake is the same. You already know is a battle royal of people summoning past heroes, but you get lost whenever they mention certain names. And it's okay, if some day you decide to watch the series you'll catch on to what they were saying in here. Hopefully you keep watching Strange Fake because I really think this series is gonna deliver real good :D

Nick don't worry about ppl being mad at you for watching fate strange first , im pretty sure you will understand it in a few episodes, and i kinda understand why they being mad , you dont need to watch all fate series but you only need to watch fate zero to almost understand all of it , just in case you think you need to watch all of the fate series before fate strange fake anyway what a great reaction i love it !!

If they really wanted to create a good introduction to the Fate series, they should have adapted the Saber route from the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel into an anime. I do not count the DOG SHIT Studio Deen adaptation. Even better, and this is pure cope, adapting "Garden of Avalon" into either a movie or a full season would have been ideal. Since it serves as Saber’s complete backstory, it would be the best possible entry point into the Fate series in my opinion. Saber is the poster child of the franchise, which makes it even more baffling how poorly she has been treated by anime adaptations, or by the lack of them.

You can start with Strange Fake, but yea you’re not gonna understand much like at all; it’ll still be a fun watch, but you’re obviously gonna miss alot. This series in specifically is just full of references and connections to other material. Honestly anything Gigguk says about type-moon / fate you need to take with a grain of salt; good anime content, but he honestly doesnt really understand the franchise either imo as someone whos big in it. He knows just about as much as anyone who watches the anime series once or twice. The producers recommended it as a starting point, but they are just trying to get people to watch it imo LOL. Like I said earlier, still a fun watch, but for sure not the greatest of starting points. The original LN writer has said a bunch in the past to read the series after you’ve done the original works.

Nick if you only focus on character motives and ideals for Fate strange fake and block out all the references, you should be grounded and understanding with the show by ep 5 at least.

Wow, what a nice surprise. I was not expecting Hell Mode to get an anime. I read manga up to chapter about 50, and honestly this series was actually pretty good. Granted I like reincarnation stories, this one is rather on interesting side than bullshit side.

Nick for context....Strange Fake is a spin off of the original series which is 3 different timelines interwoven together. I believe strange fake follow the UBW timeline but could be wrong its not really clear. Anyway to make this even more complicated and another level of why recommending this as the first fate you should watch is retarded is because strange fake is a culmination of all type moons visual novels so the vampires and power systems from tsukihime are also in this which is basically another fate adjacent series none of these normies have ever watched. You're basically watching the combination of all of type-moons universes into one story line. its called Strange Fake because they are trying to summon 6 fake heroes and then also summon 7 legit heroes (for a proper war). The "arthur" you're seeing is not Arthur because Arthur is a women in Fate. Its King Richard the 1st AKA Richard the Lionheart (hence the lionroar). They fucked up the summoning and he got summoned instead as a fake King Arthur.
