Imagine corporations trying to not having copyright infrindin content on their website that could cost them 7 digit up to 9 digit fines XD I never understood people getting mad about youtube videos of reaction channels getting taken down. It is not their content. And in most cases they add close to no value just letting the video play in the foreground. And idgaf how much you censor the visuals it is still just leeching of someone elses effort. If you really wanna do real content just post your reactions with a life timestamp and no audio or visual of the original footage. Easy problem solved.

You know, you’re right ! Copyright should not be taken lightly. Still, I feel like they could have just stopped the monetization of those videos instead of taking them down. The movie made just short of 800 million dollars with a budget of 20 million. They’ve had quite a big profit, to say the least. They put the movie two times in cinemas, and they’re gonna make two more to finish the story. How much are they gonna milk this ? That is in their right of course, but having YouTubers make videos of these movies is not going to affect their profits at all ! So, in the end the reason might just be because of copyright, but be sure that the real reason is money. It just shows how greedy they are, that’s it. I am not mad, in fact. I rather watch it on Patreon and support Nick. But I did watch it two times in theaters and will watch the other movies too before seeing this reaction. I just feel like they could « partner up » with the community. It actually helps them in the long run, making anime even more popular in western cultures and sharing their work with an even bigger audience. But that’s just my opinion.

i mean .. they are technically in the right, but its a super dumb business decision to strike anyone away. its basically free marketing - not only for the movie but for the whole series. but who am i to talk xD i watched this movie almost a year ago on a totally legal website *cough cough* - copyright striking over a year after the movie aired in japan is just dumb.
