The openings in monogatari focus on the character the arc is about, thats why each opening has a song and visuals so different from the others

Just so you know Nick, all the openings are done by the voice actors. So whichever character is in the opening, they are singing for their respective arcs

If you truly are interested start with the movies, they are a prequel to the whole series. The animation is impeccable you'll not regret watching them and then if you think the story is too complicated, you can stop there.

The openings are sung by the voice actors of the character featured in the opening visuals, which is why the 2nd opening is very goo goo gaa gaa. The arc was focusing on that little girl. Oh, also the girls are associated with certain animals. The little girl is associated with snail. I think you missed it, but there were several snails in her op. The bee one (Karen) is more on the nose. Btw, the term you're looking for to refer to that kind of song is "Denpa". Cute Japanese songs will not always necessarily be Denpa though.

Yeah, the Math one, which is geniuenly a great song. The ones from the newest season are kinda just alright. Obviously the ending song by YOASOBI is the standing out one.

Geniuenly never heard about it, but I suppose I don't listen to that kind of music, so not exactly suprised. I just looked it up and it indeed is a thing. Apparently aside from just being cute, the other common factor among then is a lot of weird electrical sounds, or something, I guess.

If you ever start the show, you should start with kizumonogatari. It will make you less confused since that's chronological start of the series not Bakemonogatari The show is told in non-chronological order I would recommend for you to start from the beginning though

Monogatari is my favorite series, though I'm not sure it is for you. However, I would recommend the at least the three Kizumonogatari movies to watch (they are short). I think you might like those.

I am sorry Nick! But you are not watching this ever. You have the attention spam of a toddler and reading speed of a grandma. This anime will fuck you up if you don't pay attention 24/7. Also there are tons of Japanese puns that a normal like you wouldn't get. I get maybe half of the puns and I've watched around 700 anime. Also the plot is about fighting curses and other supernatural creatures like: vampires, undead,mythical creatures and gods.

Hot take, the monogatari EDs blow the OPs out of the water in terms of music and artstyle. If you liked the openings with the strange artstyle, check out the endings because all of them use that artstyle.

I strongly believe novel order is the best viewing experience, but if you started Bake and couldn't get into it, I doubt many people would be upset if you tried again with Kizu (the three movies) instead. I believe Nisioisin himself said that Kizu could be a totally fine starting point.
