Main movie needs to be next… especially if we have to wait a bit for you to fit it in the schedule. OVA’s a worth the watch, but seeing how the series concludes is MUST WATCH like asap IMO.

Fruits basket would be the closest emotional and deep as Violet Evergarden. Not really a romcom but more a drama with alot of trauma and life lessons together with a cast of characters u will atleast one of them relatable.

That’s your opinion. The OVA’s are good but don’t advance the plot at all. If we have to wait, I’d rather watch the movie first instead of waiting who knows how long until we get to the actual conclusion of the story.

Please don't skip out but if you must then at least watch the series finale.

A little explanation. It comes from source material and the anime never really went into detail about it so it’s not a spoiler. During the war gilberts brother was caught in a storm and his ship was wrecked. He and some of his men ended up on a deserted island where they found a little girl who could barely speak and acted very strangely (violet). Some of the soldiers tried to sexually assault her, so she killed them and then the rest of the group, leaving only gilberts brother alive. He didn’t understand why she spared him but later realized that she followed his orders especially when he told her to kill. Eventually, a rescue ship arrived and found only two of them. dietfried hated violet for killing his men, some of whom were his friends, but he was also terrified of her, he knew how dangerous she was and how incredibly skilled she was at killing. So when gilbert got promoted, dietfried gave violet to him as a gift both to get rid of someone he feared and to give his brother what he considered a perfect weapon for war Hope youll read it

Yes! Watch the OVA's. I made the mistake of watching those after and I really recommend you watch them before the movie. You've already technically missed where they're supposed to be watched in the series, so keep that in mind that some things haven't happened yet in each OVA that you've already seen. The final Movie is a must watch. That feeling you got at the end of this last episode, it will be resolved by watching the movie and I cannot wait for you to experience it 💖

That’s actually a fair point, but if he doesn’t want to watch the ova or the first movie, I think it’s fine too, the ova would make more sense to watch it between episode 4 and 5, but since he didn’t the ova isn’t that necessary the last movie though is the finale of the series so it’s a must watch

But the ova or even the first movie are just something you watch if you want to watch everything about the series, it’s not as necessary as the final movie
