HOLY SHIT i gotta say this because no one else is, the Sequel is fucking amazing IF you like the monster/action side of Pacific Rim. back when i had no taste in writing, i was busting all over Uprising the sequel, it's genuinely so fucking cool for the kaiju battles. The writing is ass, ill admit, but i don't get why it's shunned to this degree. if you don't mind a few dumb writing choices and just try it out, i think it's more than worth the watch, simply for the little kid in all of us wanting an actually good looking monster movie (with A LOT of monsters), which this sequel does very well.

also i know we're all joking about the absence of a sequel, but i fucking beg you watch it. it's a 6/10 movie if you're unbiased, but a fucking feast for the eyes. Because the first movie was a 9.5/10, it makes the "mid" sequel look horrible, even though it's still so fucking cool. (tbh you could hate watch it, lol)

Damn... I went to see Pacific Rim in the theater like six times, blowing all the money I was supposed to get for my birthday. Still, it was totally worth it. In IMAX, that movie was an absolute blast 🗿

Uprising is not as fun of a watch compared to 1 imo because they took out most of the weightiness in the fights. It was badass because every time these giant mechs moved it was slow and methodical with maybe only the red chinese jaeger being “quick” and even then it still felt like a big cumbersome robot. 2 felt like it was trying to make them too slick and too sleek and it took away from that soul from the 1st movie. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I can’t help but say this is one of my favorite movies. It was one of those new movies you threw on in the background but ended up watching every minute! Of course it was back in 2013. Looks great for 13 years old.
