This ark mostly shines in the nen development. Honestly it's probably one of the weakest of what's animated so far, yet the development of the skills and power system here is top tier. However, the next ark, my guy, prepare yourself for the most SS tier arc of the show

I also wasn't fond of this arc the first time I watched it (although the two main fights are amazing), but after rewatching it I love it too. Next arc is my favorite but let's try and not overhype it for nick lol

I think that's the best part of Gon. He really isn't good or evil, he's childish and naïve. He's capable of befriending assassins and murderers without having to talk down to them morally like a lot of other protagonists.

I know most people just see this as a lame training arc but, it’s my favorite because the thing I enjoy most about storytelling is the set up to a major payoff. It’s why Haikyuu and Attack on Titan are among some of my favorite anime along with Hunter x Hunter.

a lot of people don't like this arc because it's in-between two of the all-time greats in the genre but I really appeciate the downtime to train. The characters in this show don't get stronger by just willing it, they actually put in the work - and the shit Bisky teaches them now is going to pay dividends in the next arc

Speaking of different arcs in shows, it makes me think of how rewarding some can be to those who stick with the shows. Look at Thousand Year Blood War in Bleach. Problem with it is that you'd have to had watched all the non-filler up to that point to get the full feel of each episode that was just hit after hit! That's still like a 300 some episode journey to get there.
