LESSGOOOO SO HYPE TO SEE THIS MUCH LOVE TO YOU AND LIV

Jamie

Perfect ending 👌 😍

Mismagius

Happy you enjoyed the ending, can't say the same for me though :/

Jayden

Perfect ending for a masterpiece🗣️

Filip

great anime, great ending 10/10, unique anime with complex and realistic story, there will never be an anime like this

DeAnthony Gary

leon

did you understand that mikasa married with jan?

jiwon330

Gaboo_GP

Good morning Nick

Asher Sanjan Abraham

Man. Isayama couldn't stick to his guns and really retconned a lot of 139 and 139.5.

Sabrina

The ending was weak, i think he tried to do a "Code Geass" hommage but failed, and its unfortunate cuz everything else was good!

Animeter

Anime was okay not the best but ok. It went downhill after time skip and the ending was weak. That's the reason it is no longer in my top 10. I would say a solid 8/10, (MY OPINION)

Ameth

I think the scene at the cabin with eren and mikasa happened. But it happened in the paths. Remember how when Gabi shot erens head off, him and zeke spent forever in the paths in the span of like 1 millisecond. I think that happened with Mikasas last headache on Falco, they lived some time in the paths and before they separated Eren told mikasa how to kill him and where he was, which is how she knew where to find him.

Animeter
>>121478229

I respect your opinion but for me: there are tons of animes like this and even better.

Ameth

Loved the ending, loved the show. I need therapy now

Manapp

No 1 anime of all time... Nick,i suggest you react to new op and ed aot

BigSaucesRecipe

Your reaction was awesome nick, being a manga reader I will say I believe the hate spurred with how the conversation between Armin and Eren wasn't fully fleshed out and the explanations were delivered poorly, but obviously this manga is being translated from Japanese to English the mistranslations is gonna make the fanbase confused on what Isayama was trying to portray. This anime extended the scene and made it made sense. And I love how they did it. Really happy you loved this ending nick as do I. Tatakae my man.

BigSaucesRecipe
>>121479428

I mean sure, but I think with lelouch and eren. Theyre both two different characters. They acted entirely differently. Eren definitely has way way more regret on what he was doing and was only thinking on the others and never himself mentally. I mean, who wouldn't? Seeing the past present and future being one is gonna screw with someones mind.

L.C.

Goodbye AOT. After the timeskip you were truly trash. The ending was absolute shit. How everything played out was shit. It was rushed at multiple points. A bunch of the new characters were annoying and worthless. You will always have your dickriding fans that are more than willing to deepthroat you anytime cause in their eyes this series that failed halfway through is still everything they have in life. A family? Nah. They have AOT. A dream? Nah they have a Japanese word called Tatakae which Americans have made into the most cringe Japanese word in existence.

markowen

I saw people complained a lot about the ending before, but damn, this ending was perfect! I was worried that this was gonna be the anime version of Game Of Thrones, thank God, a masterpiece after all, I don't know, maybe they did some adaptations in the anime. By the way, the baby scene, the salute and the bird...Can't handle anymore.

원 지

I think Nick didn't understand, but Ehren designed his mother to feed the Giant

What is wrong with you ? people have opinions plus no one talks like that , please look at yourself its still not too late you are probably a 13 yo that anime is all you know <3

Jordy_EMS

If anything that scene of eren breaking down just made the whole episode wait no fuck that THE WHOLE ANIME have a deeper meaning and it gave us as viewers a chance to empathise with what Erens had to endure his entire life

L.C.
>>121482004

Got one reply from someone who doesn't know English. The other one unironically telling me to meet a therapist. Yikes.

jestem nie wazny

at the very end it looked like the story was going to repeat itself because of the tree and if thats the case isnt that a plot hole? i mean eren should know the future because of attack titan memories and if founding titan were to recover eren should know this its weird isayama added the tree that looked exactly like the one ymir went in

ItsAKC
>>121482004

For not liking how AOT played out, you seem extremely invested in it lol. Go and touch grass dude, it’s not that important.

Xion
>>121485144

I think Eren mentioned that he wouldnt be able to stop the conflict completely. but it would be enough for his friends to have a normal and peaceful life. Eventually doing a full circle and repeating itself again

Nashop
>>121477854

Just curious, no hate. If you were Isayama, how would you have ended it? Like I just wanna know the ending plot that's in your mind

Keiza
>>121485144

the paths that eren was connected to , had to do with yumir . which died thus that path+power vanished if the story is going to repeat itself then it's gonna be a different power with different paths connected to different persons . eren can't see anything of that

Keiza
>>121479428

Lellouche did it for his people/friends unlike eren to begin with .. (that's what he thought first) but he said it , he did for him self . He wanted it , He wanted to make the world the way he saw it in armin's book (No humans outside)

Derlitter

I am going to start begging for Mushoku tensei

Nashop
>>121482004

God bless you, bro. You better pray to God every day cuz obviously, no one likes you including your family, but God might.

A1OpE

Yo Nick don’t forget they made a new op for this episode not included in the episode and it’s fucking amazing

Hippopi
>>121485144

The tree was more symbolic than anything. We see after centuries or a thousand years that humanity continues to do what it always does, which is a cycle of violence. It's not a plot hole at all - it's not even the same tree that Ymir found, it's Eren's tree.

jestem nie wazny
>>121485144

Xion eren said he won't be able to stop conflict completely and yet he also killed few of his friends and left paradise people lifes to luck, he could go with zeke's plan use few colossal titan to show of the power he had and paradise would be left alone for mikasa's lifetime but he for some weird reason chose to destroy everything while he didn't had to

Hippopi
>>121482004

Dude what are you even on about? Just because you didn't like season four doesn't mean it's trash. Do I wish Isayama had added a few more chapters to flesh some things out? Sure. But to say the new characters were annoying or worthless is to completely miss the point of the series. It seems like you had a set idea of how the series should end from seasons 1-3, and when it went in a different direction than you thought it should you never even gave it a chance.

Engine 25

Hippopi
>>121477854

When I first read the manga, there were a couple scenes that seemed rushed or poorly worded/translated, which made me semi-dislike the ending. However I think the anime did it far more justice and fleshed some of those scenes out a little/changed some dialogue so I think it's actually decent now. It's an extremely realistic ending that keeps to the various themes and messages the show has put forth throughout.

Hippopi
>>121479386

I'm glad it was tweaked - this ending doesn't seem so rushed or out of character.

donald cuck

the ending that nobody wanted but that AOT needed, it couldnt ended better than this honestly

Hippopi
>>121479428

It was for both reasons. In the end Eren is one of the most realistic, human characters in fiction. He's just some average person who had the weight of the world forced upon him, and gained a near incomprehensible amount of power. Add to that immense childhood trauma and never being able to truly talk about what he was going through, along with having lifetime's of memories running through his head to the point you can no longer truly tell what is past, future or present, and this is what you end up with. As Eren said, this was the only outcome that could happen. Personally I think he wanted his friends to live and be happy, and to wipe out everything. In order to actually go through with it he had to convince himself it was one way or the other. He knows his actions aren't sane or logical, they're driven by emotion - and he can hold those two heartfelt wishes at the same time.

The Battle Frontier - Pokemon Podcast

the ending is slightly different from the manga but not in a narrative changing way. most chances they're gonna do "before the fall" next although I don't know how much hype will be for this adaptation. all in all a masterpiece in story telling with a tragic yet so true message about war being eternal and world piece will never be achieved and that humans will keep fighting until the end of time. I know people wanted a "happy ending" for EREN and MIKASA but this is truly IMO the best outcome for the story. EREN being a bird, a true symbol of freedom, is just so beautiful.

Keiza
>>121485144

it's not . titans were created cause yumir wanted to be stronger . and path got created cause she wanted to be immortal . it always had to do with what the host (Yumir) wanted . parasite just made it possible since it's goal is survival (Life) too (It was said in the episode btw)

25redshark

Did you see? He turned himself into a bird! Funniest shit ive ever seen. TataKAW

lolo Chan

Nick, i think you misunderstood why we were mad about the ending, it wasnt the ending that eren wanted mikasa to love him only, because we all wanted that, but instead in the credits where u see the people under the tree, they are mikasa and jean's kids and grand children, which means mikasa fucked jean with her flippin scarf on her and also the kid at the final scene is one of mikasa's grand children or something, or problably just a random kid, that ending scene show everything eren did was pointless since titans are coming back to the world. And also, you are kinda far off the story because eren was the father of historia, he did it so historia will be protected from the curse of Ymir.

Idris Naama

I love the ending credit scenes because Attack on Titan is depicted as not a perfect world. Of course, stopping Eren wouldn't change that all of a sudden, as many people expected for some reason. The whole point is that they got their freedom and peace in the end. Just like anything in this world, it can't last forever; there is a threshold to everything. So it doesn't make sense to me when people say that what Eren did was completely pointless because Eldia got attacked and nuked to hell anyway. That's like saying that every person who has ever fought for peace and freedom in our world fought for no reason in vain because another conflict or war was going to happen again anyway. In my opinion, it's pretty stupid to think that because as imperfect humans, we're inevitably going to fight, whether it's for land/resources, money/power, religion, freedom, etc. What Eren was trying to achieve was impossible to begin with because even if he were to kill all of humanity except for the Eldians, do people seriously not think that they will not eventually have their own conflicts? They literally fought and killed each other for having different views. It's extremely ignorant and childish, in my opinion, to think that Attack on Titan would have such a Disney-like ending, and people hate the fact that reality slapped them in the face with how grim it is. The truth isn't always sunshine and rainbows, and there are people who just can't accept that.

Daemon TLH
>>121491202

exactly. if you dont like the ending, cool. but to shit on others who ACTUALLY enjoyed it, shows that they really didnt understand nothing about the show at all.

Adam

I don’t get why Nick and other anime onlys say that everyone who read the manga and thought that the ending was bad is in the wrong. Isayama and mappa literally removed the bad things and added extra dialogues and scenes to make it more fledged out. The manga ending was mediocre at best but the anime ending is a solid ending, no where near perfection but far away from the mid that was the manga

Adam
>>121492457

Like this is the equivalent of FMAB fans shitting on FMA fans because FMA fans said that their ending was ass and FMAB fans thought that their ending also would be trash. Like no they removed the bad parts and filled the gaps that was missing for a reason

Lusanagi17
>>121491168

I mean, people were still mad way before the extra pages came out depicting what happened with Mikasa... Also there is no strong evidence for Eren being the father at all. You can argue Historia got pregnant to be protected, but it definitely was with the farmer.

Lusanagi17
>>121492457

I feel like even if the reception would be better if this is how the manga was, it wasn't different enough that a lot of people wouldn't dislike it. Obviously this was better, but most angry people weren't angry because of a few lines or a bit worse execution.

Matthis

The transitions between the face of the titan with no emotions looking down there, just here to destroy everything at his feets and the chaos happening around is insane, same with the feather for Armin and the ball for Zeke, that was fucking beautiful. I cried a lot toward the end when everyone was fighting tears up after the parasite transformed their family and Jean Conny in titans.. Mikasa kissing the head of Eren was a bit weird, I would have prefered that she rushed him for a kiss, Eren surprised, Mikasa crying, and insane animation on the arm cutting his head, but that was good too with the sun and Ymir. And the discussion between Armin and Eren was amazing, I wasn't expecting those first lines of Armin so I was laughing while crying lmao the chaos was not just in that episode but in all parts of me, it's finally over, in the most sad way that could happen, Eren lost it.. I first watched this shit when I was 13, now I'm 22. Love to Shingeki no Kyojin for ever, it made me feels so much things <3

MIce1987

shouldnt we get code geass reaction today? just asking

Cristian Flores

I’m glad it ended but tbh, I never like the Eren crying after saying “I don’t want Mikasa to be someone else”. Also I’ve never like they showed the secret chapter during the credits scene when Mikasa visiting the grave with someone (possibly Jean) till her death. Other than that, it’s a bad way to end. Overall, I’m sad to see Attack On Titan finally come to end and I’m glad I get to ride along the whole way!

Cirqque
>>121504410

I don't know what some people were thinking, tbh. I read the manga, and I absolutely loved the ending. Sure, it would have been sweet if Eren and Mikasa got a happy ending, but that's not Attack on Titan. The ending hit me in the feels so hard, and brought an intense, deep, impactful ending to an intense, deep, impactful, epic anime.

Devin e

Its actually so perfect. Had me crying multiple times. Aside from very minor things, I don't see how you can genuinely think this episode was bad. Truly 10/10

Cirqque
>>121485144

Something to remember is that Eren's head was buried there, NOT THE PARASITE. The parasite died on its own across the ocean far away. My personal interpretation is that while the implication of history repeating itself is very strong, we didn't see the child actually make contact with Eren or something supernatural. Yes, human nature will stay the same, and there is a big chance that the same mistakes will be made, but a single different choice can change everything. We can't say for sure that the child will take the same path Ymir did, we can only guess, and hope that this time, a smarter choice will be made.

George

i remember watching your first ever attack on titan song reactions and then your reactions to the anime :)

Cirqque
>>121481227

I agree. I've noticed that so much deeper meaning and double meanings get lost in translation, as Japanese is a very complex language with a dozen possible meanings for a single word. My guess is that the Japanese manga had a lot more depth and oomph to it, and the translations got the bare bones that could be fit onto the page, since you can't just randomly add extra panels or disembodied speech bubbles on a blank page to increase the dialogue.

Andrej Simic

After this you need to react to the ova lost in the cruel World PLZ Its about mikasa

IllestBon

I really don't get how people don't enjoy this ending. I don't know how it could've been written better. Ymir and Mikasa were both slaves to their love. Mikasa broke the titan cycle by killing Eren(doing what Ymir never could).

Cirqque
>>121479428

I cried when I read the manga. I cried when I watched the final episode this morning. I cried when I watched the reaction. I can understand why some people didn't like the ending, but I personally loved it

Adam
>>121492457

I do agree that the overall premise of the ending is still the same but they removed the stuff that were out of character and out of place. The entire dialogue between Eren and Armin poorly executed in the manga but the anime learnt from that and created something incredible instead. Same with the packing, it was kinda rushed in the manga but in the anime they took their time and delivered a good ending. Of course there are always going to be some people who’ll dislike it, but the main reason fans disliked it was due to the reason I stated

George
>>121489450

what was different? I read the manga like 2 years ago so I didn’t notice any differences

Aziz Mouakhar

In the scene of Ymir among the pigs, if you notice well you will understand that she has, indeed, freed the pigs. Remember, she was blamed for that, and that is why the King Fritz tried to kill her (when every slave snitched on her). We thought that she was innocent but she is trully responsible for this act. Actually, I see two explications to that. Whether she wanted provoke the future, like Eren, knowing everything that would happen (but I doubt this explication). Or maybe she wanted to free the pigs who were slaves, the same way she was a slave for King Fritz love. She was then awaiting for Mikasa to free her bc she had to free herself from loving a monster, which Ymir couldn't do in 2000 years. This act could bring an end to Ymir's sufferings and sin. Hence, at the end we understand that Mikasa's migraines were Ymir's interfering with her mind, not bc she was an Ackerman slave of Eren as he said. Ymir has been showing the path to Mikasa this whole time (Mikasa's dream was reality, but in the path, and you will notice it in the OVA that Andrej Simic, aka lost in cruel World, mentionned).

ive always loved the ending. I read it when 139 originally dropped and have always thought the haters just dont understand what AoT truly is and have low reading comprehension lmao

Ch Ng

Bro missed the controversial part its just the end credit scene that theyre mad about

Gabriel

I think the ending was alright. AoT would have been a 9/10 for me if it wasn't for them stretching and milking the last 4 years of the anime for no reasons. Was one of the most hyped anime at the time and for a while before Demon slayer and MHA showed up. The only reason I give a 9/10 to this anime is because of how they had horrible CGI in the 3rd season. The CGI in those last 3 chapters were amazingly good in comparison.

Damian

In my opinion, I thought the story was perfect. For the first two seasons I was completely confused at first but the way the story started connecting through season 3 and growing on season 4, there's just no way you can say that is not good story writing. The ending was perfect for Attack on Titan because from the start it was never happy. It is just a tragic story and will have a tragic ending. Even with the extended story showing us what happens through the years, in the end, the story will just repeat itself. 10 out of 10 story 10 out of 10 anime

David Salazar

I didnt have any issues with the ending. I get why people thought some parts were controversial but I thought it was a very good way to wrap up the story in a realistic way. It was 10/10 for me. idk why people made it sound like the ending was terrible I thought it was amazing.

Diavolo

first of all learn to use commas on the internet, second of all, none of the story mattered? you won't matter either to the generation 150 years from today so maybe when you'll use your little brain more you'll realize the ending meant that no matter what era there will always be conflict cause that's the human nature

Sam Cam

10/10 Ending For A 10/10 Anime

The Battle Frontier - Pokemon Podcast
>>121489450

nothing major, like the fight with the "worm" was after they defeated Eren and they managed to defeat it in oppose to the anime where Ymir is the one who saw Mikasa's love for Eren and made the titans power disappear. it doesn't change the narrative like I said but it does make a cleaner and more better looking end to the fight unlike the manga which was kinda messy

Chaz

nick I can't help but feel like you missed the part where eren basically admits with the founding titans power he could've saved his mom but he chose to let her die

ryejett

I’m so glad I watched this first with you, Nick. 100/10 made the experience so much more memorable. I loved the ending as well, I knew how it was going to end (I was spoiled years ago) but it never seemed like a bad ending to me either, honestly. I think what it was is that many people wanted was for either: a) Eren to be a completely unredeemable villain and for him to be stopped before he killed so many lives, or b) Eren to win because they think he’s right and run to off with Mikasa and friends and live happily ever after with his wife and kid. Basically, a lot of people were upset that the story wasn’t as black and white as they would have liked, because of that, it meant they couldn’t completely glorify or condemn one or another side. I’ve also seen some other reactors complain about the ‘cynicism’ of the overall plot, and not liking that whole “the world is cruel” concept at all (of course, completely forgetting the rest of the line “and also beautiful” because they only want to complain smh). It all comes down to it not being the ‘perfect’ ending really, which is really very silly and very sad when you think on it. This ending may not be the one where everyone gets what everyone wants but, I think it’s definitely the ending that the show needs to be complete. Would I have loved it if everyone survived and lived happily ever after? Sure! But that’s just what I want, and I think I needed this ending instead. I can always turn to fan fiction and day dreams for anything else lol.

D. Silva

trash ending, ruined the series for me. All that build up, mystery and char development only for Ymir to see "true love" in form of Mikasa french kissing a dead head. peak fiction lmao

Adam
>>121504410

people out here smoking CRACK if they think its a bad ending jeezzzzzz

Ray Roy

I love the end. It's a fantastic Anime. I cannot believe how good it was, is and always will be. I kinda feel empty now... but it's okay. I watched it yesterday alone and immediately after it once again with you, Nick. Addictive show. I only wished to see a final dialogue between Mikasa and Eren. I mean... that "fake future" when Mikasa and Eren escaped... was that a route Eren went to tell Mikasa a few things like he did with Armin? I does not feel like it. So I wished there were final words. But somehow... it is sadder this way. And funny... if Mikasa would have said at that one point something to Eren... Paradise would have got extinct. So it was like the only way. What a journey, will rewatch it eventually for sure. Thank you Nick for reacting to it. It was the reason why I started to join patreon. One last sasageyo, one last tatakae.

Damien

It's been 10 years since I've started watching this show, and I couldn't imagine a better ending to it. I don't understand how people don't like this ending. I don't understand how a single scene, which was not bad, was enough to ruin the story for people. I feel sorry for them because this has been one of the most incredible pieces of fiction I have experience. I haven't read the manga and I wonder if there was something weird with how it was done?

Damien
>>121479428

Lelouch was a lot more unrealistic than Eren, and that's alright. It feels a lot better to look up to real hero's. Sacrifice for creating a better world. That's not what Eren wanted to achieve. Humans like to think that if they were put in a situation, they would somehow come out on top. They would be above it and maintain their strong moral code. Every single human is capable of evil if put in the wrong situation, and we've seen this throughout history. I believe that is a major theme in this show. I think implying they tried to 'Code Geass' the ending shows that you didn't fully understand the show. That's not at all what was being done. You don't always get the princess and your fairy tale ending.

Damien
>>121482004

Damien
>>121491168

World War 2 was pointless because the Iraq war happened. What do you think his goal was and why do you think it was his goal. He very clearly wanted to created a world where the people he cared about could live. If that was his goal, would you say everything he did was pointless? There is nothing disturbing about Mikasa and Jean. He wanted her to eventually move on and live her life. That's what it's like when you really care about someone. You can both want them to remember their love for you and move on. There was nothing shady going on here.

bro did u skip the credit scene where everyone just started war all over again even in a world without titans? All eren did was remove titans from the world and he didn't remove the vengeance cycle of this world which cause more and more war, if he really wanted to free everyone from the world of vengeance, he could've easily trample the whole world without hesitation. And yes what eren did was pointless to the world, it didnt change anything at all.

Its been a shitshow ever since the timeskip. This is on par with everything else since that point. People too used to sucking AOT dick that they can't think clearly

I don't need to hear out people who suck dick all the time

Imagine thinking AOT is one of the greatest anime of all time. Imagine thinking this trash could compete with peak mushoku tensei

I agree it is great but so cringe to invalidate another's opinion because.it does not align with yours lmao

I’m going to rewatch Attack on Titan. I’ve rewatched Attack on Titan a lot of times but that was always before a new part came out but know I’m gonna rewatch it through to the end. Kinda sad.

He said that there isn't a real schedule anymore. Just that the amount of episodes per week would be (should be XD) consistant.

RoosterBärs

The ending song is called "To you 2000...or...20000 years from now" so one could assume that the final scene was somewhere between 2k and 20k years in the future. (My guess is 20k but who knows :D)

Yes it wasn't suggested but the way the story is told may make the readers and viewer believe that she was innocent. That a lots of slaves accused a little girl who is suffering from the same as them, just to save their ass. As she was the most fragile one it would be easier to get rid of her. At least, that is how a lot of people have understood it. Seeing that it was voluntary changes our perception of events. But yeah, I agree with you, it is still unfair and the king Fritz is trash.

Eren becoming a bird, finally reaching the freedom and relief he always desired so is beautiful. Thanks for the journey Nick

You one of the few reactors that gets the deep themes in anime, this masterpiece series, and this amazing ending. Really appreciate your channel (even your sometimes inappropriate humor), even AoT needed to add more humor this season because the material was soo heavy and deep

Nessa

Perfect ending. Perfect reaction vid. Cinema. Thanks so much for letting us go on this journey with you, Nic. My first anime too cuz of your vids.

People were mad about the fact that the cycle repeated

What I think is dope is that the worm bonded with ymir and it just has cool powers, I guess, but the Titans were a specific evolution that was done by chance. This next kid can get a totally weird fucking crazy power too who knows you could literally have a brand new show, and then at the end say it's from aot

RIP EREN 🕊️

Joey Zero

As an anime only, I had to go to the manga and see why people actually thought this was an awful ending. I did notice some differences in the dialogue, but overall, I think people really overreacted. It wasn't so different that it ruined the anime like some people claimed.

Kai Medel

The fact that Grisha & Eren both stepped in during the retaliation against the other past users is such a nice thing to see 🥹

tenshen

where are all reactions to aot?

I love your reaction THE most. It's the most sincere, idl love your ott reaction I really do. But above all, I think your interpretation has always been on point. Exactly how Isayama wanted us to feel. And I really appreciate that shared emotion you and the viewers (me!) were having. Thank you
