OG dragon ball and Z in dub (sub has mono audio which sounds like a potato, even if the acting is better for some the mono audio ruins the experience). Also dub and its screaming is very good + american ost in Z is legendary DBS in sub, many VA's like F. Trunks, beerus, jiren, Black, Zamasu sound better in sub + the OST's are identical to dub expect for the singing part which is cringe in english anyways.

DBS Broly movie is the peak of dragon ball. Animation, voice acting, story and hype. If anything is gonna get someone into dragon ball, it's that movie. U should watch it, or at least gogeta vs broly.

Slightly better? dont joke around. The sub audio for db and dbz is awfully bad and a pain for the ears. And the faulconer ost is miles ahead of the japanese ost's overall.

I can see hes done a "reacting to the first and last episode" kinda thing which is absolutely fine honestly, nothing wrong at all. But I'd leave it there with the DB stuff, DB's community has to be the most bitter and nasty there is. Of course not up to me in the slightest, whatever nick decides I'll support, just don't want him going through unnecessary grief

Dragon ball is literally one of the few animes where you should watch Dub> sub. Sean Schemmel and Christopher Sabat are goated.

Subs will always provide a more authentic experience as you are watching the source material. Dubs regardless of how good they can be can never top the sub. A copy will always be inferior to the original. Imagine saying watching the Avengers in dub is superior to the english version.

The original Harry potter experience are the books written by the author J.K. Rowling, in english or whatever direct translation suits you best. If you want to watch the movies based on the books watch Harry Potter in any language you want idc for that matter.

If a dub is ok then I would prefer to watch that. I only watch sub if I have to or the dub is below average. Watching dub is a much better way to causally watch something. I really only watch anime when I am eating or working out and that would be impossible if I had to read the subtitles the whole time.

The only reason people like it is because of nostalgia.

It is different with anime, as the original creator works together to create the series... so Frank is right. A dub from any language will never be better than the original in an anime, it is only for convenience that someone may think otherwise. The original Japanese voice actors fit the characters' personalities well and make them more believable. The subbed version also keeps the cultural references and wordplay intact, which adds to the enjoyment of the series. Plus, the subtitles provide a more accurate translation and don't change the story like dubs sometimes do. The voice acting in the subbed version is also generally considered to be better because the Japanese voice actors are more experienced and skilled. And overall, the subbed version of DB is preferred by many more fans because it feels more authentic and true to the original intention of the creators.
