Chapter 1 - The Beginning After the End - Part 1

“Man, I’ll be honest, this blows,” a voice came throughout the large room, echoing as he was surrounded by large machinery, a tall monitor, and metal walls and floors at his feet.

He was a strange-dressed man, dressed in what appeared to be a large crimson spandex bodysuit—though in all actuality it was a very durable frictionless material that cost millions— that covered him head to toe. Wrapping around his figure to create less drag, making him as perfectly aerodynamic as he could get while maintaining his speed. The suit also had golden accents, namely his golden boots, as well as his belt and arm bracers, which resembled lightning bolts. Wearing a cowl that covered his face, preserving his identity, seeing as how the only part of his body being shown was his mouth, nose, and eyes. On his chest was a lightning symbol, the symbol of his superhero identity, which was a white circle with a lightning bolt emblem on his chest.

The symbol that rang throughout his home of Central City, denoting him as its protector. ‘The Fastest Man Alive’, or as he was also known, The Flash.

“Just quiet down and sit there, I mean, this is all just standard surveillance work, everyone has to do it, it just so happens that you and I got scheduled for today,” his ‘partner’ said.

He wore a form-fitting outfit that was primarily green and black, the black being mainly around his sleeves and pants. As he also wore a set of white gloves, green ‘shoes’, and a green domino-style mask that covered his face, though it did show his caucasian skin, and brown combed hair. On his chest was his own symbol, what appeared to be a white circle with a green hourglass.

The symbol of his core, The Green Lanterns. The intergalactic police unit to the farthest reaches of the known universe, peacekeepers with the use of their green lantern rings.

Flash just shrugged, “Yeah, I get that, but come on, I’m the fastest man alive, sitting here like this, it feels like an eternity. I mean, are you telling me you don’t want at least something interesting to happen? A bank robbery or something harmless, I mean, I at least want to get my blood pumping a little in the morning,” he mentioned, not wanting anyone to get hurt, but he was getting antsy, away from his home for so long.

But, unfortunately for him, the fastest man alive, it appeared that today was an utterly peaceful, normal day. Nothing was happening, and everything seemed serene.

Hal Jordan had to admit, Barry did have a point. He had spent his time patrolling the better parts of this sector, stopping interstellar crimes wherever they might have happened. Joining the Justice League to help with such an endeavor. And while he was a founding member, they still had to do such remedial work every once in a while, about once in a while. None of them really liked it—except for a certain martian, of course—but hey, what were they gonna do?

It would seem that they were so far into said musings, they were brought out of it rather abruptly, courtesy of a sound neither of them could ignore just then.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

[WARNING! Unknown presence detected in the Earth’s lower Stratosphere!]

Beep! Beep! Beep!

[Warning! This is not a drill!]

“Whoa, is that?” Flash said, in disbelief, a little.

“Well, you wanted action, seems like you’re about to get it,” Green Lantern remarked.

Just then, a green-skinned man appeared from the ground, rising from one of the lower levels through his use of density shifting. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and muscular, with his bald head and red glowing eyes. He was dressed in a blue cape with a high collar, a red harness, and blue trunks and boots.

This was Martian Manhunter, J’onn J’onzz, the last of his kind, the Martians.

“I heard about the disturbance. What’s happening?” J’onn asked, immediately heading towards the control panel, as the monitor kept flashing.

“Already on it,” Barry announced, moving to the panel in an instant, as his face changed into a more serious expression. “Looks like two supers are going at it down in lower Manhattan, reports are all over the area…”

“Any identification? Maybe they’re two villains we caught, and they’re arguing?” Hal asked.

Sadly, Flash shook his head, “No, it seems we don’t know who these guys are…” he said, checking the records. “I have to get down there—!” he said.

“But——”

Flash.

Before any of them could stop him, he was gone in a flash of lightning, vanishing in a trail of light as he headed for the Zeta beam teleporter, transferring himself to the earth down below.

[Guys, I’m over here in Manhattan, and I’m not seeing anything!] Barry said on the other end of his line.

“What?!” Hal said, jumping to the control center

“He’s right, reports are indicating that they’ve left New York entirely,” J’onn interjected, typing as well.

“What? And where did they go?!” Hal asked.

[WARNING! Unknown presence detected in Hong Kong!]

[I’m on it!] Flash said, but even then, he was too late.

[WARNING! Unknown presence detected in Siberia!]

[in Istanbul!]

[in Pakistan!]

[in Antarctica!]

[In New Zealand!]

[In—]

“Okay, what the fuck is happening?!” Hal asked, not understanding how there could be so many reports coming in so fast.

Even J’onn was confused, as he tried to make sense of things. “I’m not sure, it appears as though the figures are moving as fast as—”

[WARNING! Unknown presence detected in Los Angeles!]

[I’m there, but… I’m not entirely sure I’m seeing things right!] Barry announced.

“Flash, what do you see!”

(Earlier.)

Naruto was… falling?

Was that the right way to put it?

He wasn’t quite sure. Hurtling? Flying? Whatever it meant to be launched so far, you began to lose your orientation, unable to tell up from down, left from right, as your body flew in every which direction. Space didn’t exist, land didn’t exist where he was. And, it was almost like… he was trapped between worlds.

Though he supposed that wasn’t entirely inaccurate to say.

Because in all actuality, he wasn’t anywhere, and yet he wasn’t nowhere either. It was a strange in between, almost like when his father was teleporting, that split second, that fraction. When his body was taken from where he was standing, but not quite in the area he wanted. That in between, almost like Obito’s Kamui dimension, but much more. A world between worlds, not a gateway, but more like a tunnel.

It had happened because of one person, that one person… being Kaguya Otsutsuki, a woman who, by all nature, was a goddess.

A Mad goddess, a rabbit goddess.

The Goddess, who was damn near responsible for his entire life’s suffering, being a distant ancestor of his, and the first person to possess and utilize chakra, eventually went mad to the point her own children had to seal her to prevent her from harming anyone. However, she created a being, a powerful being named Zetsu, that was hell-bent on releasing her; it did release her. Manipulating a careful turn of events, leading to a battle between Kaguya’s grandsons, several wars, and even the killings of his mother and father. All because it wanted to release its mother back, the woman was trying to take all of the world’s chakra.

They were the only ones left to stop it: him, his former teammates, and his former master.

Now it was just him; he was the only one left to fight her. He had lost track of how long they had battled, hours? Days? It could be months for all he knew.

He had lost track of how many different dimensions both he and Kaguya had been to, the goddess using her weird dimensional teleportation ability to change where they were to try and trip him up. He had seen things he didn’t think he would see, mountains of gold, oceans filled with red substances, similar to blood, volcanoes hot enough to melt chakra metal. Physics didn’t work the same in those dimensions; there were always new rules or laws to abide by, but even still, he kept fighting, kept clawing his way through Kaguya. Because he knew that if she did manage to break away from him, that would be over. From then on, she could just leave him.

He wasn’t like Sasuke; he didn’t have a transdimensional teleportation ability, and he couldn’t make himself get back if he wanted on his own.

That was how he ended up in the situation he was in, as Kaguya had tried to summon another one of her portals, he had interrupted her, slamming into her as they traveled who knows where.

Falling through the world between worlds, hot on the goddess’s trail, as he headed towards what appeared to be a bright, blinding light, towards what would be their next destination.

Slam!

His body hit the ground so fast it created a large shockwave, a crater, as he upheaved the terrain, dust kicking up, rocks falling. His body was durable enough to survive the fall, as he looked around.

“Whoa,” was his first word, as Naruto looked around, seeing himself appear to be in a jungle of concrete, a giant city, almost like that of Konoha, though even that wasn’t entirely true, as buildings here were larger, larger than anything he had ever seen before. Massive, tall, with large windows spanning several stories. Honestly, it almost reminded him of tales of Amegakure, where Nagato was from, with the large buildings. Roads were long, made of concrete and rock, as there were a bunch of strange, similar-looking metal boxes with wheels on them scattered about—some of which were making noise due to the explosion upon his entry.

As sirens blared, he noticed the one thing he would see… people.

Actual people, running from the chaos, though he did notice one small thing about them, different from his own world. They were, undoubtedly, without chakra, the life source of his homeland, something that everything possessed, even the bugs and the trees. That these people were without such a vital part of his world, surprising him, as he sensed it all with his Six Paths Sage mode, feeling as if every life ran from the scene.

He didn’t have much time to contemplate such a thing, as Kagya’s presence had made itself known right in front of him, kneeling in a similar crater as he stood over her.

Her long hair covered her face as she looked up at him with an angered scowl. “Vermin!” she spat, the insurmountable goddess appearing agitated. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done!” she growled, glaring daggers at him.

Naruto didn’t deign to respond; he merely got ready, waiting for Kaguya to make a move, anything that she might do to cause any danger to himself or anyone around him. Making a one-handed hand sign, a few other versions of Naruto appeared around him.

“Look, I’m not sure where we are, but if there are actually any people here, I’m going to need you three to get anyone and everyone away from here, while you still can,” he ordered.

“Right!” X3

As they went off, Naruto did not even bother to look at the clones, keeping his eye fully on Kaguya.

Both of them were burning on fumes, neither of them having had many moments to compose themselves, and so he took a slight moment to breathe, trying as he might to calm his nerves. That was when Kaguya made her move, “Rahhh!!!” She shouted, thrusting her palm out and unleashing a few of her bones at him, something that would surely kill him if even one of them grazed him. Lucky for him, he was able to dodge, trying to use the opportunity to get close to her, Rasengan in hand.

“Take this!” he shouted, but unfortunately for him, Kaguya was able to grab his wrist before he was able to strike at her. Lucky for him, he was able to use the momentum he had built up to leap over her, launching her up into the air and towards the sky. Quickly jumping after her, not letting her get a moment to herself.

Kaguya righted her body, using her power of flight to right herself, which allowed her to block his impending strike with an ‘X’ to her arms, leaving them both in a deadlock.

“I’m not letting you get away!” Naruto told her, gritting his teeth. As well, even though Kaguya wasn’t a fighter, she was extremely powerful and strong physically.

“What makes you think you can stop me, boy!” Kaguya glared back, her byakugan eyes showing heavy veins, and if looks could kill, he would have been dead already.

“I have to, if not me, then who else is there? I’m not letting you go on with your rampage any longer,” he glared back.

“Hmmmm,” Kaguya merely smirked, giving a small laugh, mocking, as if his words were nothing more than comedy. “You may try,” was her word, as she used her more than impressive strength, swatting him away as if he were nothing more than a fly, as she threw him towards the ground.

All the while, she flew higher and higher, trying to get the opportunity to get away with one of her portals.

“Oh, no you don’t!” Naruto shouted, recovering as he flew after her, making it back to her, as he was on the assault once again.

They did this several times, Kaguya and Naruto battling it out and trading blows as their chakras depleted, Naruto making sure to spare enough clones. It didn’t matter where she went or when, he would be after her.

He was ending this here and now, one way or the other.

(Present)

“Look, guys, I’m there, but… I’m not entirely sure I’m seeing things right!” Barry told on his communicator, now standing within the streets of Los Angeles, California.

This was because, through every report, every alarm said the same thing: terrorizing the area, sometimes knocking buildings down, destroying a vast majority of property, and causing worldwide disturbance. All of them said the same thing.

Two individuals fighting it out, blurs to everyone, blurs to even the cameras they used to track them, even satellite imagery.

Yet to the Flash, they weren’t blurred, they were… people.

Two people, fighting at impossible speeds.

Blurs of Yellow and white slowed down, one of which was a woman, a tall woman, with impossibly long pale hair, white skin, almost like snow itself, with strange, horn-like protrusions, almost like those of a rabbit. Even her eyes were an unusual color, seeing as how they were pure white, the eyes of the Byakugan, which allowed the user to see perfectly in a 360-degree vision around the user for several miles. Upon her forehead sat a third, even more powerful eye, one that was crimson, and with a ripple pattern, with several tomoe laid in a pattern. Her eyebrows were cut short, and she wore a strange, white, flowing kimono with several layers and purple and gold trimmings, all giving her the demeanor of royalty.

The second ‘Yellow’ blur was slightly less surprising to see than the alien woman, appearing like that of a normal teenager, looking to be about seventeen. His whole body was surrounded by a golden light, as he had tanned skin and spikey hair. His normally blue eyes morphed into the color orange, with his eyes seemingly in a plus sign, and three whisker-like markings across each of his cheeks. He wore a golden jacket, a dark black bodysuit and pants, and glowing boots, all of which were in tatters, with several cuts, scrapes, and scratches all around his body. A single forehead protector sat on top of his head, with a strange spiral-like symbol resembling that of a leaf on it.

The two locked in what seemed to be a vicious duel, the white-haired figure on the defensive, meanwhile, the blonde seemed to be on the offensive, never backing down, never giving his opponent the chance to get away. Slamming the woman into cars, buildings, street signs, and roads, yet despite all he saw, the woman seemed to take all the blows in stride, not even being injured in the slightest, as her kimono was kicked through concrete.

“You insolent wretch!” the woman shouted, sending her palm outwards, shooting what appeared to be… bone? At the blonde at speeds too fast for the normal human eye to register, the male figure dodged the bone as it was embedded into the ground. Delivering an absolutely bone-shattering kick to the woman’s side, sending her flying into the road, her arm dragging along the concrete, upheaving it in a trail of rubble, as the blonde was upon her once again.

It was as if it were a battle of gods, as people ran from such destruction and carnage, trying as they might.

Flash didn’t even know how to handle such a thing, or who was in the right; there were just too many unknowns. But what he did know was that there were people who needed saving. “I’m on it!” he shouted, using the speed force to empower himself, as in a burst of lightning, he ran, collecting as many people as he could, and relocating them miles away and coming back in, well… a flash.

“Help! Help!” he heard someone shout, as he followed such a plea, electricity coursing around him, as he sped throughout the streets to find them, sure enough he did, as he spotted a civilian right in the middle of such destruction.

He saw in slow motion what was happening as a crack appeared on a nearby building, causing the billboard on top of it to collapse and fall, as it was about to crush the young girl right onto the streets.

“I got it!” Barry yelled, his body instantly reacting, as he zoomed over. “I got it! I got—”

 Whoooosh!

Just as he was about to get near the girl, it would seem that another person saved them, a figure wrapped in a golden light. Much to his surprise, he had been too focused to notice him before due to his tunnel vision. As the male moved the woman out of the way, before she was crushed.

“Whoa, he’s fast!” Flash commented, maybe not as fast as him, but fast nonetheless.

The blonde male looked at him for only a second, giving him a passing glance, before he vanished in a puff of smoke.

Almost instantly, the Flash looked back at the carnage the white and golden figures were producing, as he noticed there were several other golden figures, appearing the same as the golden man, as they acted to get as many people out of the way as possible. Clones?

[Flash! You copy, what do you see?!] Hal asked through his com link, snapping Barry out of his thoughts.

As he witnessed both the blonde male and the white-haired alien goddess battle it out, the blonde male forming what appeared to be a spinning ball of energy within his palm, driving it into her stomach with minimal effect. The woman floated high into the air, opening a black portal that appeared to take the two of them somewhere else, the blonde figure charging straight after her and not letting her get away.

“You know what, I’m going to have to call you back!” The flash said, as he went after them, running up a building, his legs burning as the glass melted around him, breaking the windows with each step as he tried to run after them. He had to be faster. He had to go faster. Not wanting them to get away before they were able to discern what was happening, and if they teleported now, they might not be able to track them again.

Jumping off the building, his trajectory was nearing him towards the portal, the wind flowing across his frame, smacking him hard against his face as he flew through the air at Mach speeds. And just as he was about to reach the portal… it closed.

As Barry fell as quickly as he came, adjusting his speed midair, he ran down the side of the building once again.

“Hal, I just missed them!” Barry said to his communicator once again. “I’m going to need their current locations again!”

[Alright, we’re calibrating their coordinates and— huh?] He heard as Green Lantern finished typing.

“Huh? What do you mean, huh? Where are they?!” Flash said, trying to catch them before they disappeared again.

Luckily, J’onn answered for him, [What he means is we aren’t able to get an accurate reading as to their location, stand by as we try and use the Justice League satellite to locate their signatures. It should only take a few minutes, then we will be able to get a lock on them.]

“A few minutes? Yeah… great,” Flash said. Great indeed, it would only take a few minutes to locate where a couple of interdimensional teleporters were, who could change their location at the drop of a hat.

And so, as a speedster, he did the one thing that he always hated doing… he waited, and took things slow. Using the opportunity to try and find any more wounded, though he found none.

Wondering where the strange alien figures came from, as well as where they were going.

XXX

(With Naruto)

Location: Somewhere in Arizona, United States

The next place they ended up was different, yet very similar to other places he had been, having traveled through tall cities, arctic regions that were colder than Yukigakure, even a few marshes, and forests much like the ones in his home. Currently, he was in a desert, the sun shining down upon him as he looked at the sandy plain, with several dead bushes around him. There were even a few variations of wildlife, lizards, rabbits, and hawks, all of which he could sense running away from the area, sensing the immediate threat of two godly figures.

That was good, this was good. If she transported them to such an isolated area, away from anyone and anything, that would make this the perfect battleground.

“You know, Kaguya, you must be getting sloppy! Especially without that aloe vera-faced son of yours!” He shouted. Black Zetsu was lost somewhere along dimension 52, or was it 65? He didn’t really know, but it was obvious. The creature wasn’t suited for such high-level battles, and it showed. One thing was for certain, and that was that he wouldn’t have to deal with that shadowy blob ever again.

Which was good, as aside from the fact that Zetsu had manipulated his entire world for over a millennium, Zetsu was obviously the brains of the operation between the two. Kaguya fought like a berserker, using techniques that took way too much chakra recklessly. It was honestly why he was able to be in this fight so long, as while Kaguya had immense power, compared to someone like Madara, she wasn’t able to utilize it to her full extent.

That wasn’t to say this would be easy, by no means would it be, especially with Kaguya having the vast power of the Ten Tails, on top of being a powerful alien herself. As long as those two were together, there would be no stopping her.

‘Kurama, do you notice anything odd about this place?’ Naruto asked the beast that had been sealed inside of him from a young age.

‘Hmmm… It's the fact that the last few locations of yours have been short-range, ever since you interrupted her. Everywhere you’ve been has been on the same planet,’ Kurama told him.

‘Right, I did notice, why do you think that is?’ Naruto asked.

‘I’m… not sure, my father didn’t call his mother the Mad Goddess for no reason, her reasoning eclipses even me,’ Kurama told him, though perhaps it was due to the chakra strain, as well as her chakra capacity. Spamming so many teleportation jutsu obviously ate away at her chakra, and while he doubted that it would be enough to drain Kaguya’s near-endless supply of chakra was at risk of running out. The strain on her coils obviously needed some time before she burnt out.  ‘Nevertheless, Naruto, if you want to do this, we have to do it now, before she gets away again!’

“Right, let’s do this, Kurama!” Naruto shouted, looking up at the sky, seeing the floating figure of Kaguya before him, her kimono billowing as she looked down at him in all her glory.

Forming a Rasengan in his hand, his father’s original justu, taught to him by his sensei Jiraiya. As he also formed a Wind-style Rasenshuriken, the upgraded variant, fused with an element, the completed version that his other sensei, Kakashi Hatake, helped form.

Using his chakra arms to create a few shadow clones, two more in total, each one glaring at Kaguya from above.

“Insect! When will you learn that this fight is pointless!” Kaguya proclaimed with an arrogant disdain upon her face.

Naruto just grew a tired smile, “You know, that’s the thing about me, giving up just isn’t the way I do anything!” Naruto shouted.

“Right!” (x2) his clones shouted back as well.

As they charged, heading for Kaguya in that instant, ready to put an end to the goddess once and for all. Attacking her from every side, however, Kaguya was able to dodge all of his blows, using her ability of unassisted flight, and her immense reaction time and visual prowess to track all of his movements and evade him. Ducking over every punch, every kick, and every attack he tried to throw at her.

The real Naruto came at her with a Rasengan, as she swept over his clones, knocking them back before holding her palm out for Naruto’s jutsu, absorbing it right as he was about to strike at her.

“I’ve had it with your foolish tricks, Grand Almighty Push!” she yelled, the Rinnesharingan upon her forehead pulsating, as Kaguya sent forth her arms in every direction.

Almost instantly, a giant wave of propelled gravity was sent out from around Kaguya’s body in a full 360-degree circle, forming a massive crater and knocking everyone and everything away from her. Much like how Pein had done to his village during his attack. Naruto found his body being knocked back from such a force, the jutsu upheaving many dust, rocks, and boulders, as he was left struggling to right himself, forcefully sticking himself to the ground with as much chakra as he could spare, as he shielded his face from any dirt that might strike at him. His clothing was obviously torn and dirtied, as well as a few gashes and cuts along his body that he didn’t heal, not wanting to spend any more chakra than he had to. His other clones are doing the same. What he wouldn’t give to have a few truth-seeker orbs left, all of them having been destroyed in the battle between them long ago.

“Alright, now’s our chance!” The original Naruto shouted as he sped towards Kaguya, who was surprised to see him still afloat.

6 seconds.

6 seconds when Pein used his almighty push, did he have a cooldown before he was able to use his gravity push again? It wasn’t much, but all he had.

Of course, that wasn’t including the larger pushes Pein would do, which would have a longer cooldown. But then again, Kaguya was a goddess and the host of a Tentails, so it was likely that she had a shorter cooldown window than Pein did. He hadn’t had a chance to test it, unfortunately, given the fact that Kaguya preferred other jutsu. But it was all he had to go on.

If she still had that move on her, she would be able to push him off of her whenever she wanted. He needed to get close to her for Kurama to do his thing, which meant he had to bait it out.

6 seconds, that was all he needed.

“One!” he shouted, charging for Kaguya with all his might, all the speed that he could muster, any excess chakra he could give.

It was obvious that if this failed, he wouldn’t have enough left to continue this fight. That meant he had to make this count.

He made for a telegraphed right to her side. Kaguya expected this, but what she wasn’t expecting was for him to correct his movement mid-stride, sweeping under her, as he used all of his momentum to knock her into the sky.

Knocking her up to where a second Naruto was ready for her, kicking her into the air even higher, “Two!”

Right where the third Naruto was, as he delivered a third and final kick, completing the Uzumaki Rendan.“Three!”“Four!” The first Naruto to kick her shouted. Speeding over to meet Kaguya, in the air, Wind Style: Rasenshuriken in hand, ready to strike at her.

And, just when he was about to hit her, the spinning ball of thousands of microscopic blades was coming ever closer to the woman, and just as they were about to strike… “Five—!”

“Almighty Push!”

Boooom!

A monstrous amount of chakra was being poured out of Kaguya, as her body absolutely burst with a force of gravity so powerful it could level a mountain, sending every cloud nearby away in a perfect circle around her body, leaving nothing in her wake. Naturally, that included Naruto, who was about to strike at her with his jutsu, as he was sent away, his jutsu dissipating in his palm from the pressure of her attack, his body falling to the wayside.

Kaguya smirked, knowing her opponent would not have any more chakra to contest her. That was it, she had won.

“Now, Kurama!” A voice shouted, it was Naruto’s, causing her smirk to die instantly in her tracks.

“What?!” Kaguya said, baffled, as she turned to see a speeding Naruto heading straight towards her. As she witnessed the previous Naruto, she had ‘killed’ disappear into a poof of smoke, Naruto having swapped himself with a Kawarimi sometime during the first attack, when she had kicked up all the dust upon all of the clones. The ‘real’ Naruto is the third to strike her, not the first.

This was his chance, Kaguya having let down her guard long enough, as he got close, burning as much chakra as he could to burst through her defenses.

“There!” Naruto shouted, spotting an opening, as he grabbed Kaguya by the shoulder with his right hand— right where his sun mark was. “Now!” he signalled to his Nine-tailed friend.

“RAHHHHH!!!” Kurama roared, as both of their minds were filled with the image of a giant nine-tailed orange fox biting down onto a massive ten-tailed rabbit, his large teeth attacking the beast straight at the neck.

From then on, a chain reaction occurred, something that Kurama realized would happen. You see, the Ten-Tails was made up of all the nine Bijuu combined, just like how it originally was. But that didn’t mean that the Bijuu’s consciousness was still in there. No, if that were the case, then they were truly gone, but the Sage had assured them that they could get them back, once this was all over—-before all the craziness had happened.

But Kurama’s other half was still in there, still inside Kaguya, and Kurama had realized that he could influence it, his other self. Inserting his consciousness into its predecessor temporarily, and allowing them to relinquish Kaguya’s control over the beast.

It was a gamble that this would happen, and of course, Kaguya wouldn’t let it happen a second time, so they had to be sure.

But this time it had worked, and that was all they needed.

Now they had a chance.

The next second, Kaguya realized what had happened. “No!” she yelled, her byakugan eyes widening.

“That’s right! It’s over!” Naruto shouted as Kaguya’s body weakened, becoming vulnerable for the first time.

As the two of them began to fall, descending to the ground as gravity overtook them both, “It’s over, Kaguya, you’ve lost!” His golden cloak began to dissipate around him. That was fine. Kurama had done his job; now it was up to him.

“Never! Your chakra belongs to me, as well as your life!” Kaguya growled, actually growled, even as they fell to the ground, Naruto falling above her, ready to strike at her.

Kaguya ended up doing the same, a large grey rod of bone forming at her palm, another of her All-Killing Ash Bones, as she neared it towards him, ready to stab him. Naruto, for the life of him, couldn’t form a Rasengan, having spent too much of his chakra already. As he offered to do the next best thing, getting his hand out, and filling it with as much cutting wind chakra as he could muster, using his immense strength and falling speeds to try and stab at her with his outstretched hand.

The two were left falling, the wind flowing through each of their hairs and clothes, tearing at them like waves, as they fell, faster and faster, eventually moving at terminal velocity, the maximum a person could go in such a situation. The ground was getting closer and closer, moving towards them as if they weren’t the ones in a decent. As if the entire planet were moving towards them.

Kaguya’s sword-like bone was heading towards him; if that were to touch him, he would die. His body would turn to dust, and not even his immense healing abilities would be able to stop it— not that he thought he had anything left in his tank to begin with.

And, just as he and Kaguya were about to hit the ground, their strikes were both inches from striking one another…

Crash!

.

.

.

The two hit the ground, knocking up a dust cloud in their impact. A squelch was heard, as well as the drawing of blood; someone was stabbed, and if Naruto were being honest, he didn’t know if he was the one to do it. Sweat poured down his face as he felt his breathing become ragged.

It was only once the smoke cleared that he got a good picture of what happened.

He was standing in the absolutely massive crater he and Kaguya had created within their battle, dried blood on his skin, and blood already leaking on his clothes. And, he felt his hand… warm.

Actually warm, a wetness leaking down his arm, as he looked forward, he saw what had happened.

Kaguya’s body lay limply on his arm as he held her body up, having impaled her straight through the heart. There would be no turning back from that, no regenerating, her body weakened, and she would die.

“You… you fool!” Kaguya spat, “You absolute buffon! Do you have any idea what you’ve just done?” she growled out, her forehead creased as she mustered what leftover strength she had.

“It’s over… I’ve… won…” Naruto said in a pant, a small smile creeping onto his face, as he felt a small amount of euphoria. Or he would have, had he not been exhausted, as it stood now, he didn’t quite know how to feel, his emotions muddied in the wake of his tiredness.

“Won? Only a fool would perceive this as such a victory. No, you’ve only sealed your fate,” she said in her anger.

“What… what do you mean?” Naruto asked, a certain amount of trepidation filling his voice; he could tell something was different. No, this wasn’t one of Kaguya’s own pointless words or misinterpretations; this was different.

It was Kaguya’s turn to be surprised. “You really haven’t figured it out yet?”

Naruto didn’t know what she was talking about. Didn’t know what she was referring to, as he narrowed his gaze.

That was when Kaguya did the unexpected, instead of scowling, instead of glaring at him in anger… she laughed. Actually laughed at his plight.

“Ha!” Kaguya breathed out, even as blood started to leak from her mouth, onto his skin. “You don’t even know what tortures you have subjected yourself to!” she laughed, it was a small laugh, barely a chuckle, one filled with absolute disdain and bitterness for him. It was a last laugh, the only action that she could take in the moment of her life ending.

It only made him feel even more dread at not knowing.

Surely she couldn’t do anything? After all, he had taken from her, having no chakra left in the tank, no Ten-Tails to rely upon, she had nothing. Surely she wouldn’t be able to bounce back from this.

So what could she be referring to? What could she be talking about? Surely this was ended.

Why did it feel like it was only about to begin?

It was in that moment that all of her mirth stopped, all her amusement, all her laughter died as quickly as it came.

As Kaguya Otsutsuki looked at him fully, looking at him, and seeing through him, watching him in his entirety with her Byakugan eyes. And then she spoke her words.

“I curse you, Naruto Uzumaki,” she spoke in absolute seriousness, a weight to her words.

“I curse you for as long as you shall live. Suffer. For all that you care about, all that you enjoy, will be stripped away again and again. This is your fate. I Curse You.”

“What do you—”

Naruto didn’t have any time to react. Didn’t have any time to prepare, not that he could.

All he was left to witness was Kaguya’s bloodied and damaged body, which started to erupt into a bright white light.

The next moment, he felt himself black out, never to be the same again.

End Chapter.

An: This fic has been something I’ve been planning for a while, thinking up, but I kind of felt like I never had the time or knowledge for, I’m still not sure if I’m being honest.

The DC universe is so vast, and my comics knowledge rather limited in certain areas, admittedly. But I do hope to do this story justice, seeing as I’ve got plans. Big plans in fact.

This story is similar to The Protector, with it being single pairing. Though I plan for the pairing to be with Kara Zor-el/Supergirl, with me trying to take a realistic approach to their relationship. With ups and downs, and barriers they may need to overcome.

With this being a story about grief, progress, and finding yourself.

Those of you who have read my Christmas oneshot may know what this is about.

Anyways, that’s all I have to talk about, sorry for the delay in release, though I do have another chapter coming out very shortly.

The Next Chapter of this should come out shortly, so be aware.

Please leave me Lots and Lots of NICE reviews.
