Wayward (A Christmas Story)

Whammm!

The sounds of thousands of miniature blades struck, tearing through the air as a thunderclap sounded. Shredding, slashing, cutting, and dismembering all that remained. This was the same move that he used to take down one of his strongest opponents, Kakazu of the five hearts— although when he had faced him he had been down to only three— a formidable ninja he had been. Holding the elusive prestige of S-rank shinobi within the elemental nations, one of the few shinobi who had ever claimed such a title, especially from a village not of the 5 great nations. He had been a man who had mastered all five elements, using his former village's forbidden jutsu known as jiongu. This technique allowed the man to harness the power to turn one's body into that of a monster—using several black metal-like tendrils that lay within the user's body to implant and use several different hearts that the bounty hunter had collected. Giving him the affinity for not just one, but all five of the main elements, something that only masters of the rinnegan had been able to acquire.

It had taken the completion of his Wind-style: Rasengan, the ultimate culmination of his sensei's and his father's legacy, to add the peak of chakra manipulation, and elemental manipulation, in a single jutsu. The effect had been devastating, not only to his opponent but to him as well, tearing apart anything and everything that its hundreds of thousands of miniature wind blades touched, down to the cellular level. It even tore through his chakra coils as well, which was why it was labeled an S-rank forbidden technique, and why he had to improve upon the technique during his fight with Pein and his sage training, learning to throw the technique to create even more devastation. It had helped him defeat every opponent—save for Madara Uchiha, but he had the rinnegan, which allowed him to absorb the technique's chakra, which was cheating by the way!

Nevertheless, he was always used to the technique tearing apart what he wanted it to and wasn't used to seeing it do otherwise. That was why he was so surprised…

When the technique hadn't even damaged the floorboards of the wall he aimed it at!

"Damn it!" the blonde male shouted in anger, slamming his hand onto the strange, red energy that littered the walls and floor around him. he was a tall male. Young, just about eighteen years in age, with blue eyes, and a black and orange outfit that was oddly reminiscent of his old jumpsuit he wore within Konoha.

This had only been his latest attempt to damage the wall, all of his others had failed too.

At first, he tried using his Rasengan, his go-to of all things when it came to destruction, and then he tried his sage mode. When that didn't work he tried Kurama's chakra, which hadn't worked, He even tried using his six paths sage mode, his strongest form, and the transformation in which he had been given by Hagaromo, the sage of six paths himself. Nothing seemed to work, this wall, a bounded field that they called it, was just too strong. Or maybe he was just too weak.

'Kit, I told you it wouldn't work. This thing could withstand even the power of a Bijuu bomb, there was no way your pewny technique even had a chance,' the inner voice within his mind squalled, a giant, orange, nine-tailed kitsune with large claws, and even larger red eyes. It had been this very beast that had terrorized his home on the night of his birth, as well as the reason he had been treated so harshly by his home when he was a child. These days, and ever since the Fourth Great Shinobi World War, they had been on better terms, he would even call them friends, as friendly as one could get with a constant voice flowing through their head.

'Well I thought it would work, after all, it was the same 'pewny' technique that was able to take you down when we fought.' Naruto thought back to the time he had tried to master Kurama's chakra within his mindscape when he had met the fragment of his mother's chakra who had aided him.

'Hmph…' Kurama huffed, not bothering to speak on the matter, and soon Naruto realized that the connection they had together was severed, likely by the kitsune himself. He guessed the giant fox was going off to sleep for another time, which wasn't that surprising. These days, all the giant fuzzball did was sleep, and bother him, and there was no in-between, honestly didn't know which he would prefer. As, while he enjoyed not having the constant negative voice within his head, the big fox also gave him a reason to not be alone, a memento, of his old homes and the people he missed.

Even Kurama realized the futility of the situation, going off into the giant meadow and lush caves that he had created in his mind— it was better than the giant sewer the valley of his mind had once been and provided them both comfort whenever they visited.

He didn't know what else to do, he tried using what he knew. The Rasenshuriken was still one of his best creations, able to tear and cut through things at the cellular microscopic level, something his other techniques hadn't tried. But it seemed even the pinnacle of wind manipulation wasn't enough for this bounded field. These things reminded him too much of the sealing techniques of his homeworld for his liking, like the barriers that Orochimaru had used to trap the Third Hokage in their battle. He realized he should have paid more attention when Jiraiya talked about them on his training trip. But those days he had been all about learning new, powerful justu, and something that would help him get Sasuke back. He hadn't cared much about the complex nuance that was fuinjustu… he realized he should have listened to Jiraiya alot more back then.

He should have spent more time with Granny Tsunade, his grandmother figure, and one of the first people who actually believed he would fulfill his dream of becoming Hokage. He should have listened to Iruka's lesson's alot more, they were boring, but they were necessary, and the classes he took these days wouldn't even hold a candle. Kakashi too, the man who was his sensei's student, he was sure the man had many things to teach him, and he had always been too blind to see the pain the man lived through. Maybe he could have been there a little more to help him, instead of giving him so much trouble. And Sakura, he should have spent more time with her as well, not just trying to ask her out on a date. He only realized later on that she was more of a sister than anything, always caring about him, always worrying about him, and there when he needed a lecture when he did something different. He also realized that he should have spent more time with Shikamaru, and Shino, or Hinata and Kiba as well, and the rest of the Konoha 12… Neji. He was a dear friend, someone who gave his life for him so that he could live, he should have spent more time with the man to warrant such an action.

All the people back in Konoha, they were waiting for him— waiting for him to return.

He needed to get back home, he needed to see them again.

… but he couldn't.

He was stuck here, and couldn't find his way back.

Stuck in a place where he didn't belong, a world that wasn't his own when all he wanted to do was get back to his homeland.

But even he realized that was harder said than done, as he didn't even know where to go.

It was all just so hard for him, and he knew the road of life would only get harder…

"Wow, Uzumaki-kun, I was sure you would have given up by now," a voice made itself known through the distance, as the bounded field had opened just the smallest bit, enough to let a person through. It closed quickly as well, as when the teenage girl had stepped into the room, the hole within the field vanished, returning to an unblemished state.

Naruto looked over, seeing the familiar face before him. It was a girl his age, if a little older, around nineteen with aqua-collared eyes, and dark wavy black hair that rolled down her back and parted her face, with two strands going down her shoulders and reaching her navel. She wore a long-sleeve red shirt with a maroon skirt, with several red gemstones along her collar, and a pair of black pantyhose that covered her bottom figure and wrapped up her legs.

She was a girl that he had seen many times and had shortly become friends with during his time in this strange land.

He plastered his ever-so-fake smile across his face, masking his earlier distraught expression, as well as the doubt. "Of course I am, Rin. You know my motto, I never give up! And never–"

"'Never go back on your word!' Yeah I know, and it's just like you to be attacking Schweinorg's bounded field this time of day, I should have realized you would have been here," Rin finished his sentence, as she noticed Naruto's expression, and frowned slightly.

"That's right, well I need to get in there, no matter what it takes! I won't back down because a stupid barrier is in my way!" Naruto told her. This caused Rin Tohsaka, to smile, knowing this was exactly in Naruto's nature to do something stupid.

"You always were the type of person to do that sort of thing," the brunette girl said with fondness. Before a thought struck her, " Although I think the time Schqweinorg gave you is over," she pointed out, knowing the deal he had.

As Naruto checked the watch he had been given. "Argh! It is!" he realized, he had only been given a select amount of time and days to try this sort of thing, and then he was over. He thought he still had more time, he still wanted to try a few more things, maybe try to see which of his techniques affected the barrier, but it seemed he wouldn't get the chance to do so now.

Bouncing on his feet, he resolved, "Alright! I'll get it next time!" he shouted. Resolving to disable the barrier the next time he got the chance, which, unfortunately, wouldn't be until the following year.

Rin giggled at her friend's enthusiasm. "Uzumaki, you know that's Zelwretch's barrier, one of the greatest magus' to ever live. You might even get through it within a million years," she told him. And she should know, being trained under the man and his eccentric ways. She had firsthand come to realize the man's genius when it came to all things mana and magecraft, to the point that even she could not comprehend some of the man's works. And yet, here her friend was, trying to break into the man's office, one of the most secure places on this side of the world. What was even more surprising was that the man encouraged it, giving Naruto these allotted times to try and break through his barrier. Which would finally give the blonde a chance to speak to the Kaleidoscope mage.

Naruto nodded, "I don't care how long it takes! I will get through the barrier!" he needed to. From the time he landed in this place, and was found by the magus association, he had enquired about any way for him to make his way home. Each person he asked always gave him the same answer. Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, the wizard marshal within the association, and the man who knew most about other dimensions and planes. From what he'd heard, the man was even able to observe them, and possibly travel between them. If he could just get an opportunity to meet the man, to make a request of his plight, maybe he would be able to get back to his home. It was a long shot, especially given the infinite amount of parallel worlds within the multiverse which thinking about honestly made his head hurt. But the man was the only chance he had, he was just… so frustrating to get a hold of. He had heard from the man only once when he received a note detailing specific times the man would be within his office training his latest apprentice. That had been his opportunity to meet the man, he had neglected within his note that his office had a barrier, that prevented anyone and anything from entering, though.

It had been that very reason how meet Rin, who was to become the man's apprentice. At first, it shocked him when he found the barrier opening and disappointed him when he couldn't make his way through. But now he just accepted that the barrier would open for select people only, people who weren't him, which was frustrating.

"Maybe, but I suggest you work more on your lecture's assignments, rather than trying to break Schweinorg's barrier that even he doesn't think you'll be able to get through," Rin told him, not being able to suppress a chuckle as the blonde paled at her words.

"Don't remind me," Naruto sulked, if he ever thought that Iruka's lectures were boring, he had been so wrong. "I still have assignments, even though we are supposed to be on a break! A break!" he winned, as they both prepared to leave the room entrance to Zelwretch's office, both of their allotted times had ended.

Naruto resolved to break through the barrier next time.

"You still haven't got your assignments done?" Rin laughed, as they both exited the room. Both are now walking through the halls of the clock tower.

"Yeah. Not everyone can be some sort of super genius magus that can learn anything in a second," the blonde scoffed. He had trouble with alot of the work they made him do within the school, one of the requirements he had been given if he wanted to stay on campus to try and get a hold of Zelwretch. He had been allowed as a student here, mainly given many of them wanted to study and find out about his chakra network, or 'strange magic circuits' as they called them, he didn't 100% know what they meant. He didn't know what everything meant, it was all so much harder than the ninja academy at Konoha, when the hardest thing he needed to memorize was the locations of all the countries and their whereabouts. Now, he needed to learn about magic, or whatever kind of jutsu they had developed, which was a whole lot different than what he was used to.

Honestly, he was lucky that his teacher, the long-haired man who always smelled like cigars, reminded him much like old man Sarutobi in his wisdom. While he could be a bit of a wimp at times, he was always there for him and was the person who stuck out for him and helped him get into the school, listening to his plight. His white-haired little apprentice was also fun to hang out with, and she was pretty cute too.

"Hey, I'm not a super genius!" Rin refuted.

"Oh please, and I'm Hashirama Senju," Naruto scoffed. The girl was far ahead of him when it came to analytics it was crazy, and he honestly doubted that he would be passing any of his classes if it weren't for her. Rin looked at him with a deadpan look, not exactly knowing what he meant. Naruto, seeing her expression, blinked, right, she didn't know who that was. "Err… it's not important," he told her, still walking.

Rin shook off her earlier expression, as she was reminded of something about the blonde. "That's right, they say you're from another world, it's still so hard to believe."

"Tell me about it, it's hard to believe that I'm here too," he told her.

Rin smiled, running up in front of the blonde as she looked at him, hands along her hips. "Well, I for one am glad you're here!"

Naruto too gave a strained smile, "Umm…Thanks!" He said, not knowing what to say on the matter.

A teasing glint entered Rin's eyes. "Of course, after all, if you weren't here, the clock tower would be a whole lot less entertaining!"

"Really?"

She nodded, "Yeah, but don't forget, this may not be ninja planet 1200 B.C. but this place is still dangerous," she lectured, pointing her finger at the blonde. "If you let your guard down, who knows what can happen—!"

"Your guard's down!" a voice said, slapping her hand down at the dark-haired girl.

"Like hell it is!" Rin yelled back, using her magic circuits to quickly deflect the blow, thunderclap in their exchange's wake, leaving all those in the hall to see who saw the newcomer who had attacked Rin so.

She was a woman, about Rin's age, although far more developed where curves were concerned. She had the particular appearance of what Naruto would call an Ojou-sama, that being a 'young lady,' who was of noble birth with golden eyes. Having long, golden blonde hair similar in color to Naruto's own, which she had styled in drills, with several large blue bows within her hair matching her large, navy blue and white dress and light blue shoes.

"Huh… Oh?" The blonde-haired girl stumbled, gazing at her smoking gloved white hand that had tried to strike Rin in surprise. She quickly swapped out such an expression, as a look of cheerfulness and bliss melded itself along her beautiful features.

"Naruto~!" she yelled in a chipper tone, running towards her fellow blonde with a twirl, as she gripped onto Naruto's palms, making him catch her, much to Rin's frustration.

"L-Luvia," Naruto studdered, blushing slightly out of the forwardness of the blonde girl.

"Oh, Naruto, I thought I told you to call me the way you Japanese people say it," She told him, her voice seeped with a strange accent of a place he did not know of. "After all, it isn't like you're my servant or anything, we are friends, aren't we?" she said, getting close to him, so much so that she was up to his face.

"I-I… Um…" Naruto couldn't answer, especially because of her being in such proximity, as she leaned her body onto him.

"Hmmm? WH–OOAA!" she yelled, being pulled from Naruto's embrace as Rin gave her a seething glare from behind, looking down on the girl as she pulled her away.

"Cool it with the chummy act, okay!" the brunette told her, seeing through the blonde's sweet and nice attitude.

Luvia slapped Rin's hand off her shoulder. "Oh Miss Tohsaka, really? We're Classmates as well as neighbors, and I believe we even share an apartment building. And yet my behavior strikes you as inappropriate?" she said in a haughty tone, actually sounding offended.

Rin put her hands on her hips, "it's inappropriate all right," she said with a harsh glare.

"Oh come on, Rin. Luvia—"

"Ahem!" the blonde girl interrupted.

"Luvia-chan," Naruto corrected, raising his hands placatingly, trying to diffuse the situation. "she was just trying to be friendly," he argued.

This brought a large smile upon the blonde girl, as she tried to run towards Naruto once again, she was stopped for her troubles, as Rin forced her arm on her shoulder, which she forced back. This happened a couple of times, Rin stopping Luvia as she tried to move forward, much to the blonde Edelfelt's growing frustration. A smirk then started to appear on the Ojou-sama's face.

"Say, Naruto, do you have any plans?" She inquired, shocking the two.

"Plans?" Naruto asked, not really understanding.

"Yes, plans, for the winter break of course! Do you have any?" Luvia asked as Naruto scratched his head.

"Hmmm, I can't say that I do. I mean, I was really only planning on staying here for the winter, it's not like I can go anywhere else," he told her.

"That's wonderful!" The Edelfelt chimed, clasping her hands together, as Rin could tell where this was going. "I was wondering if you would like to come to my family's mansion for the winter, tomorrow is Christmas Eve after all!"

"Oh no you don't!" Rin said as she rushed to Luvia's side. "Naruto can't go to your stupid Christmas party!" she stated.

Luvia's eye twitched, "Oh, and why can't he?" she said with a glare, one that Rin quickly matched.

"Because… " she paused, thinking about the reason, she knew she couldn't allow Naruto to spend any more time with the blonde wench before her, she just needed a reason to get him away. "Because he's already going to my Christmas party!" Rin told her, quickly thinking up a solution.

"He is?" Luvia said in surprise.

"I am?" Naruto asked, also surprised.

Rin gave Naruto a firm glare, as he quickly shut his mouth. "Of course he is, he's coming with me to Fuyuki tomorrow! All our classes are done for the year after all. Naruto's going to go on my trip with me to visit my family there for Christmas, it's going to be loads of fun, you aren't invited, of course!" she told her, quickly forming a plan to get Naruto away from the blonde noble she despised so.

"Is he now?" Luvia asked, eyeing Naruto, who seemed just as confused as she was.

"He is! Right, Naruto?!" Rin said in slight anger, sending a firm look at Naruto, ordering him to give her the right answer or there would be hell to pay.

Naruto saw the look, "I-I…er, yeah. I forgot about that!" the blonde said. He knew those types of looks, mostly from Sakura or Tsunade, and he knew that they usually never ended well if he answered poorly, it was best to play along with these situations.

Luvia seemed to believe him, "Oh, well, I suppose it can't be helped," she said, a disappointed look on her face.

Rin stepped in between her and Naruto, pointing a finger at the blonde female. "That's right, and there's nothing you can do!" the Tohsaka mage told her.

"I suppose you're right…" Luvia said in thought, as an idea popped into her brain. Rin, of course, didn't notice, being too satisfied with herself and her quick thinking to realize, "That is of course, not including New Year's. Oh Naruto, please tell me you can make it to my parent's New Year's party if you can't make Christmas!" she pleaded, looking at Naruto with a hopeful expression.

"What? No! Of course, he can't" the Tohsaka interjected.

However, even with Rin in between him, he could not refute Luvia's expression, "I, uhhh… don't see why not," he told her, as Luvia's expression lit up.

"Really? That's great!" Luvia said with a smile, unable to leap at her fellow blonde with her fellow jewel mage in the way. "I'll send you the details, be sure to be there so we can watch the countdown together. Toodle-lo~!" she said, as she waved Naruto off, practically skipping on her feet as she went off in the other direction, much to Rin's frustration.

"Ugh! I can't believe you!" Rin said, storming off.

"Huh? Hey, wait, Rin!" Naruto shouted, shocked at what had just happened followed the girl, catching up to her.

XXX

"Hey Rin, what was that back there?" the blonde asked her.

Rin continued marching, an irate look on her face as she stormed through the halls. "It's that blonde bitch, you know how she always gets on my nerves!" the dark-haired girl shouted. "Honestly, how did you meet that girl?"

She wanted to punch her, she wanted to punch Luvia so hard and show her who's boss, but she couldn't, and that infuriated her more. She had left before she could receive the opportunity.

Naruto nervously smiled, "Well it's… complicated," he said, thinking back on his first encounter with Luviagelita Edelfelt. They had met back when he first got here, not knowing Rin at the time—seeing as how the Tohsaka mage had only been at the clock tower for the past 6 months— when he had accidentally gotten lost around the campus of the mage's association. It seemed Luvia got lost as well, and they ended up meeting each other. All seemed to work out in mysterious ways, though, because he had been looking for an apartment at the time, something the blonde ojou-sama had actually been able to help him with. It was a good deal, too, as she allowed him to live in her apartment building nearby that she sublet to the association. All he had to do for the girl was show up and perform work for her, which wasn't all too difficult, and nothing like the D-rank missions he had been put through back in his genin days… or was it? Technically speaking, he was still a genin seeing as how he had never been able to complete any of the chunin exams. A real letdown, considering all he had done, from saving the Kazekage to performing numerous S-rank missions, not to mention saving the whole village of Konoha and the ninja world as well. You would think he would have at least been able to obtain a field portion by now, or something. He realized he was moving from the topic, helping Luvia, especially when he showed the girl his Shadow Clone technique. Something that certainly surprised the her when had first showed it to the girl, not to mention the old crones on the magic council. They were still trying to figure out how it worked, and if they could replicate it, Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage was a real genius when it came to creating techniques, apparently.

Rin continued to spout on and on about Luvia for several minutes, namely throwing in a few swear words here and there and vividly describing what she would do to the blonde should they cross paths again. Naruto doubted the girl's words, however, even he wasn't stupid enough to find out if she was actually serious or not. He vowed to try and keep the two girls as far away from one another as possible.

They made their way off the campus, through the streets of London, and into their apartment building nearby, seeing as how both of them didn't have any more classes until the following year. It was only when Naruto and Rin were nearly within their respective apartments that the blonde spoke up.

"And then I'll tear her arm out of place! And then I'll–"

"Hey, Rin?" Naruto asked, interrupting the girl's ramblings, as she looked at him, still frustrated.

"Hmph… what is it?" she asked, her arms crossed.

"Were you serious about, y'know… about the thing you said?" he inquired, she had mentioned it before, namely with their talk with Luvia. But she had never mentioned doing such a thing before, so he was wondering why she was now.

"Huh? What did I say?" Rin asked in confusion, the whole ordeal being lost to her as she flooded with rage.

"You know, you said you invited me to Japan with you," he stated, as Rin's eyes widened, realizing what she had said to Naruto.

"W-what?" Rin said, embarrassment forming across her features.

"Because… well, I heard Japan is a place alot like my homeworld, so I wouldn't mind visiting if you would let me," Naruto told her.

Rin blushed, pointing her fingers together, "Well… it's not like I wouldn't want you to come with me, it's just. Rather sudden…"

"Look, if it's about me never being on one of those airplane things— I've been on a blimp before, so it shouldn't be that big of a problem!" he told her, remembering his time back with Team 7 before he went off on his training trip in the Land of Snow with Yuki Fujikaze.

But Rin only shook her head, "No, it's not that. I mean, I would have to get you a ticket, and because it would be last minute it would be kind of hard. Not to mention I would have to let Sakura know, plus you aren't packed and…"

Naruto frowned, "Oh, so you don't want me to go with you?"

"No!" Rin flailed her hands towards him, a flush upon her cheeks, as she tried to regain her composure. "I didn't say it would be impossible, just hard. And if you want to go… I guess you can come with me," she stated, as Naruto smiled.

"Great!" he said, forcefully wrapping the girl in his arms.

"W-What a-are you doing? I-Idiot!" Rin said with a blush across her face, feeling Naruto's large, strong arms wrap around her. She realized that such a position honestly wasn't so bad, especially being so close to his rather chiseled and muscular chest.

"Huh? Oh, right. Sorry!" Naruto apologized, letting go of the girl, realizing that his excitement got the best of him. Getting out of the clock tower would be a new change for him, seeing as he previously didn't have anywhere else to go. Who knows? Seeing the world he had been stuck in could be nice. It beat trying and failing to destroy Zelwretch's barrier for nearly the past year.

Rin realized she was rather disappointed, being away from Naruto, but she quickly hid it. "Alright, I'll let it slide, just this once," she said, still a faint blush upon her cheeks, as she neared her apartment. "I'll take care of the arrangements, so don't worry about them, you just bring a few changes of clothes so we can stay for a few nights," she told him, before quickly rushing off and opening her door's entrance and closing it behind her.

Leaving a very confused Naruto on the other side, although he couldn't refute the fact that he was excited. He wanted to see how these aircraft flew in this world, and not to mention a whole new place where they spoke nothing but Japanese. Learning English was a challenge when he first got to this world, and if it hadn't been for Waver or his shadow clones he didn't know what he would do. He missed being able to speak his natural language, as Rin and the smoking addicted teacher were some of the few he would actually converse with it. As he made off to his own apartment, wondering what this strange new place would be like, or what was this whole 'Christmas' thing he'd heard so much about.

On the other side of Rin's wooden door separating the two, Rin slumped along the door. Clutching onto her now racing chest, feeling her rapid heartbeat as she felt along her bosom. She didn't think she would ever feel such a way, but when Naruto grabbed her… it elicited a response she hadn't quite expected. She hadn't felt a way since…

Brushing herself from that thought, she made plans on what she would do when it came to their travel arrangements. It wasn't like she could just make Naruto walk nearly 6 thousand miles.

But first… she now had a call to make.

She wondered how such a trip would turn out, not to mention, what sort of drudges would be unveiled come the night's end.

Oh, how little she knew…

XXX

(The next day)

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Naruto's fist met with the oak wood of the door to Rin's room, reverberating throughout the area.

He was met with no response; so he knocked again.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

And again. And again. And again.

He was still met with no response. Over and over again, Naruto knocked on the door, and yet nobody was there to answer. He had half a mind to punch the door open; it would be so easy, especially considering his strength. But he didn't. He knew what kind of response that would elicit from the dark-haired girl, and he understood that this was the safest option. And so he waited, knocking even more than before, and yet there was nothing he could hear from the inside of the room.

He should have expected such, knowing the type of person Rin was. He'd thought he had already given the girl enough time to prepare, their flight left in an hour after all, the sun had already risen, and he had already done his mourning routine. Keeping up with his training— it wouldn't do for him to lose practice and the strength he'd worked so hard to achieve, after all.

And yet, he realized, Rin, had not woken up.

They were going to miss their flight if she didn't do anything.

And so he knocked and knocked again.

It was on the third time that he noticed something, the faintest of shimmers upon his view, he looked towards it. Gazing towards the top of the door, he saw the slight indent between the wall and the entrance, seeing a small metallic object. It couldn't be, could it? He reached for it… it was.

Naruto sighed to himself, Rin really was careless with these sorts of things, wasn't she? Didn't she know just about anyone could come and break into her home? Taking the spare key that now lay within his palms, likely placed there by the dark-haired Tohsaka mage herself. He opened the door, seeing the apartment building that his friend now resided in.

Despite what one would believe when getting to know the girl, Rin Tohsaka's room was very much like the way she presented herself, that being the prim and proper lady of nobility. There were no messes, clutter, or anything of the like, if anything the room was pristine, spotless. With precious furniture and ornate tapestry, her room was the complete opposite of the girl as he knew her, and very much the antithesis of his own. Where his room had trash and garbage from leftover ramen containers she had anything but, he was surprised… if only a little.

Making his way through the room, back from the kitchen, he reached what seemed to be Rin's bedroom, not a sound was heard within the estate. He knocked on her door, finding that the room door was still open. "Hey, Rin, I'm coming in!" Still no response. Rin's room was much like the other rooms before it, being very clean, although he could see several bags along the floor, likely her luggage that she had packed for their journey. There were also serval jewels scattered about her many dressers and tables, likely due to the unique magic that she possessed. Jewel magic, as she called it, although he didn't know how exactly the techniques worked, he did know it was dangerous. And the fact that it was seven remotely conceded to crystals reminded him way too much of Gurren for his liking.

He also found, there in the middle of the room a large bed, with an equally large form befitting that of a princess or nobility. And there lay a large bundle of blankets, vaguely human-shaped, and definitely too big where anyone was concerned. So much so that he couldn't make anything of the girl that was buried within them.

A small, tender hand reached towards what he believed to be her shoulder, as he shook it, feeling the rigidness of the body that rested inside. He was met with still no response, and so he pushed again, and again.

"Hey Rin, it's time to get up!" he told her.

"Hnnn…" Surprisingly, he was given a response at that time. And it was then that he pushed that the being within the sheets rolled over.

Unfortunately for her, when she rolled over, she was met with the edge of the mattress, as her body fell helplessly onto the floor with a thud.

Naruto cringed, and it was then that he saw her, like a helpless chick she rose from her blankets in a hatch. Her hair was disheveled, flowing out in all directions, a few strands lying within the girl's mouth, although that wasn't the worst of it. Her clothing was a set of loose pajamas, a small button-up shirt, as well as some pants made of yellow fabric with a black cat-face design strewn about. It seemed within the girl's slumber a few of her blouse's buttons had come undone, showing off the fact that Rin was without any bra, giving Naruto a clean view of her upper chest and neck, as well as a bit of the girl's cleavage. If anyone saw the girl now the sight before him would destroy their perspective on her pristine royalty act, likely having them blow a blood vessel.

But as Naruto saw the girl he couldn't help but blush at the sight, seeing his dark-haired friend before him in such a vulnerable state he honestly never expected to ever see.

Rin looked at him with eyes glazed over, "Huh? What? Oh… Naruto, when did you get here?" she asked, only barely able to make out the male within her deliriousness, as she then began resting her head along the bed mattress, trying to fall asleep again.

Naruto's chest still beating, especially because the girl had refused to fix anything about their situation. Resolving himself, he realized he still needed to wake the girl, reaching her hand towards her exposed shoulder. Feeling the girl's soft skin and warmness, he roused her once again from her slumber.

"Hey Rin, we got to go now," he reminded, as she brought her face to look at him.

"Huh…? For what?" she asked him, her expression still unmoving.

As he pushed her again, "Rin, the planes are all going to leave so, didn't you say you would be ready by now?" Naruto prodded.

Rin blinked. "Ready…ready for what?"

"For the trip, don't you want to go?" Naruto asked.

"The trip!" Rin said, her eyes widening, in recognition, her head snapping toward the nearby clock, reading the time. Aw shit, they were supposed to be heading for the airport now. Quickly rising to her feet, removing the tiredness from her face. "Naruto, we got to go now!" she shouted in worry.

But the blonde only blushed more, "Ummm… Rin," Naruto told her, still leaning down, pointing toward the girl's lower half of her body.

The girl looked down, it seemed that her shirt buttons weren't the only ones that had come undone in her slumber, as her pants' had too, loosening their grip. And it seemed that her sudden jolting had caused them to sag a little, only one side resting along her hips as with her pants unbuttoned they gave Naruto a partial view of the girl's white linen panties.

Something that Naruto couldn't take his eyes off of, as his eyes swirled, his heart beating even faster.

Rin noticed this, as she too had an atomic blush on her face. "I-Idiot! G-get out!" she stuttered, forcing Naruto out of her room, as she got ready for her departure.

XXX

A Few minutes later.

"Come on Rin, we have to go!" Naruto told her, he knew their flight left in less than an hour, and from what the dark-haired girl had told him, there was something called airport security or something like that. It was like the screening process for entering his village, where they would look over your documents, reasons for visiting, what items you were transporting, and standard procedure. Lucky for him, the clock tower had all but accommodated him with the things he would need to board the plane. Forging him legal documentation and everything, he even got to take his photo, although they had declined to use the photo he had sent in with his face covered in war paint unfortunately.

But he knew those processes took time, the time he wasn't sure they currently had, and so, when he was about to call out to his traveling companion, getting ready to knock on the door separating them. The entrance opened, and a voice was heard from the other side.

"Okay, okay… I'm ready, you know, it's not very gentlemanly to rush a girl when she's trying to get dressed," he heard her sigh, and before he knew it she had stepped into his view, as his jaw dropped slightly.

In front of him was Rin Tohsaka in all her glory, although, gone was the usual button-up shirt and uniform he was used to seeing. Now the girl sported a long-sleeved sweater the color of crimson with several white buttons along her cuffs and a white rosary-like design across her chest. She wore a very short black skirt, and in addition to her dark thigh-high leggings, she showed off a small amount of her stark white alabaster skin, accentuating her thighs. She also wore a pair of brown loafers, and she had changed her hairstyle a bit, now holding her hair in a set of twin tails held up by black ribbons. Overall, he would say this new look made the girl very cute, and gave the girl a younger look, very much unlike the usual 'professional' appearance Rin was going after.

"Well, aren't you going to say something?" Rin said, a hand on her hip as she caught him staring.

"R-Right… yeah, you look… good, really good!" He realized what he was doing, and quickly shook himself off his stupor. As Naruto tried to change the subject a bit to try and ease the tension a little, "So, Rin, why the sudden change in outfit?"

Rin smiled at Naruto's complement, smirking as she realized she could get this sort of reaction out of the blonde. Before she answered him, "What? Oh, I just felt nostalgic, I figured since I'm going to Japan I might as well try on my old look from when I used to live there, that's all," she told him, flicking a bit of her hair behind her back as she walked around him. Naruto watched her go, still in a slight stupor at the girl's appearance, as he watched her leave, seeing the slight sway in the girl's hips. He never realized that the girl's backside was so firmly shaped, and what he also never realized was how much he liked looking at it. He always figured he would be more into a girl's breasts than her rear, much like his sensei Jiraya. But then again, he always had a crush on Sakura when he was younger, and she was sorely lacking in that department. So maybe he was more of an ass guy?

Rin realized the effect she was having on the blonde, and she let him stare a little longer, much to her amusement.

Before she turned back, seeing his face she looked back at him, "Well, aren't we going to go?" she said, sending him a flirtatious wink as she did so, leaving Naruto even more agape at her actions.
