So the fires are still burning, but so far my parents' neighborhood and house have survived. A lot of other people weren't as fortunate, but it was still one of the the worst weeks and a half of my life, constantly monitoring the tiny bits of unsure news trickling out of a large-but-very-rural town, mostly from Twitter and Facebook and actual regular people, not reporters or fire personel, giving out information as they could. The mental fear and exhaustion from that was overwhelming, and I'm already not doing so well mentally.

I'll try really hard to update something soon, now that things are slightly less awful.

So glad to hear your parents' home is OK. Just watching the news about the fires is horrifying, I can't even imagine what sort of torment you guys have been through. Take all the time you need to get things settled with your family. *hugs*

Very glad to hear you & your parents homes are OK. Watching the news comin out from your side of the country has been terrifying, I can't imagine dealing with it first hand like that. Take care & take time to decompress!!

Really glad to hear that your parents' house is still okay, I forgot to comment on your last post but had been keeping my fingers crossed for you. Don't stress yourself about tying to write something right now, just focus on the important things until the chaos had ended.
