Chapter X

Sorry for the delay, I really thought I had less work to do on this chapter than I did. I also am not that satisfied with where the chapter ends and it might be rearranged in a very final edit, but it was going to be TOO LONG, YET AGAIN. Remember when the first draft of this entire book was 75k? Me neither! So, sorry for kind of a weird cut off point.

But honestly there might not even be chapters in a final version--it makes sense as a structure for serialized posting, but Alan's not thinking of his own story in chapters (especially if I commit to the idea that this is him actually telling it to someone). I've always used the Roman numerals as more of a metatextual way to organize the story, because would Alan use those? basically never.

But 'no chapters' only works if this gets slightly more published in some form, even as just like an ebook I make myself. Until then, gotta have them.

Also forgot to mention that the Translations document is updated with some minor notes.

These early moments between the three of them are so lovely; there will be more to come, but these first ones are special. Keyd and Rysa have had (and continue to have) a complicated life, and Alan probably has the same effect on them as a glass of cool water on a 40-degree day (except that those 40 degrees represent their childhood and teenage years). Keyd tries to hide his smiles; I think Rysa had a moment of emotion but hid it just as well, and… AAAHHH THE WAY THEY LOOK AT HIM! OK, Ahieel has entered the scene; all things considered, it’s nice to see him again too. You know what would be even better? If the asphalt got to see his face too XD. Anyway, I didn’t remember him being such a sexy bloke (the asphalt will love it).

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! And yes Alan is very refreshing to them, for a lot of different reasons, but especially now that they're realizing that he actually cares about them at a personal level (at the same time he is also realizing, haha) because both of them are very unused to that! Rysa for sure was affected by that a lot. Ahieel causes the entire story to happen, he can't be so bad! :D But he is fun to write, and I'm glad people are enjoying seeing him back again~
