I'm going to admit that since the car accident, the BS with LT3, some super BS with a friend, and then being sick on top of that, I haven't had much drive for writing recently. I've really been TRYING, but all I end up doing is rearranging sentences, editing, deleting things, changing minor things. I have to write entire scenes for this next Obscura chapter and I honestly have no energy for it. I haven't even been READING, I've barely been doing anything. I think I have hit a burn out point, and I am trying really hard to push through it. So hopefully I will get this chapter, and the bonus stuff, done by the end of the month, but this is why it's been slow. A combination of a lot of things all happening at once zapping all my energy, and on my best days I function at 75% energy anyway.

I also did get the job I interviewed for, and have been at that for a little bit. It's a new schedule for me to work with BUT I am 100% always MORE productive when employed because I use my time more efficiently, so this is totally unrelated to why there's been no content this month yet. It's totally me and my mental state and my inability to feel like I can produce anything worth reading right now.

I'm sorry about everything you've been going through! I know exactly what it's like to have life throw a pile of sh** at you. Trust me when I say that it really does get better. And when you're in your darkest hour, remember that you have tons of fans and friends that love you and your work and are here for you! ❤️ be strong, girl!

There's totally times where it feels like EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO MUCH all at once, and it just happens. I don't think any of us fault you for not getting around to your own project. Even though this is Patreon, this is really YOUR hobby, not quite your job. I think I speak for everyone when I say, don't feel obligated to do stuff on the internet. It's better for you to take time for yourself, because it makes everything else better. You'll work better on stuff and feel better when you're not all bummy. I hope everything turns around soon <3

Teromain

Aw thanks. It's just a lot of emotional stuff going on and it's all really really exhausting (mostly the publishing thing and the thing with my friend, where I feel like I'm just being treated like shit) and I know it'll all pass but it just happened to all occur at the same time as other draining, annoying things. Separately this'd all be fine to deal with! Just not all at once.

Teromain

Haha it really is EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO MUCH and the fact that it's almost entirely emotionally draining things is the worst part. This is a not-quite-my-job, since Patreon really only has ever covered the medication that doesn't quite fix the medical issue that hasn't been exactly diagnosed, but I do feel like I definitely need to be doing SOMETHING in return for the support! I just need something good to happen to me (a steady job might help) to get me back in a good mental place.

Big congratulations on getting the job, but I'm really sorry to hear about all the other problems you've been dealing with at the moment. Bad things certainly do like to wait and all happen in a short space of time. Please don't feel bad about not being able to write much at the moment, we all go through rough patches at times and I'm sure everyone on here who enjoys your work and wants to support you totally understands. I've been going through a similar everything-is-going-wrong-and-I-feel-like-a-failure phase recently, so I know how utterly draining it is and have the utmost empathy and respect for you for still trying to soldier on. I really hope things start to look up for you soon. Crappy situations do get better eventually. :)

That's great, congratulations! I think the productive energy you're getting out of your new job will get you outta this slump. ^^

Alex

Congrats on the job, that's awesome! And I'm sorry to hear other things have been piling up like that, it seems like draining/emotional/stressful things always happen in clusters. But I'm sure we all understand that life happens and it can be exhausting, so don't worry about us! (: You gotta do you first. I hope you can get back to a good headspace soon, you deserve to be happy & healthy! <3

Teromain

Thank you! I hope I'll be able to keep/handle the job since I'm not in full health and probably will never be, but it is an office job with a lot of sitting down so, hopefully. Otherwise I'm just super emotionally drained right now on all fronts, and I feel like that tiredness and anger and frustration would come through in my writing (and not in a good way). Which is why I'd just been unable to produce new words, I can only change the ones that I already wrote. Still trying to get back into it, though.

Teromain

I wouldn't really call it a slump, more like 'emotional exhaustion I don't want to come through into my writing'. I'm afraid things I write would just sound bitter ANGRY, even if the character is angry, it wouldn't be in the same way. But I always am more productive when a lot of my day is taken away doing other things, because I use my time better. :)

Teromain

Thank you. I would just feel terrible if absolutely nothing went up this month. I could probably manage a PDF but since that doesn't go to all tiers, I'd still feel really bad about it. Of course stressing about Patreon doesn't help all the other emotional hits I've been taking, haha. Patreon is always a stress unfortunately. But I'm trying to distance myself from my friend kind of permanently, the car stuff should be wrapping up, and apparently the anth will be released in early June. They didn't bother to tell us authors though, nope, I learned this through someone who pointed me to the goodreads page that has the release date. So things are resolving, but I'm still bitter and angry about all of it and it's lingering.

Alex

I'm glad to hear things are resolving! But I'd probably be angry and resentful too, it seems like you've had a lot of shit thrown at you at once. If you feel the need to vent or something to someone who's removed from the situation I'd be happy to listen.

Teromain

Haha thanks. I've vented to a few people about the draining friend but not to really anyone about the anth because nobody irl knows about it. IDK if you REALLY want to hear me whine about it haha but if you do there's always like...tumblr chat I guess?

Alex

haha yeah, I'll listen! (: I guess the only other chat platform thing that I use is telegram, which is weird to think about because I remember way back when I had like, aim and msn and allllll those instant messengers

Teromain

Lol yeah I used to have a bunch, now I only have skype. Never even heard of telegram!
