Then, deep inside the room, something faintly glowing caught his eye.A jewel—one he had never seen before—shimmered with an eerie light.

The moment he touched it, the jewel began to glow a deep, intense red.

With a sharp crack, the jewel shattered into fragments.

But before disappointment could fully settle in, his body began to glow the same red light.

In the quiet of the night, she exhaled softly.From that moment on, her life had changed forever.【ストーリー】

丑三つ時。月明かりだけが町を照らす中、ひとりの男が音も立てずに走っていた。

「……今夜も、うまくいくといいが」

人の気配のない家を見つけると、彼は慣れた手つきで鍵に触れ、わずかな時間で解錠する。忍び込んだ室内で、引き出しや棚を探るが、めぼしいものは見当たらない。

「外れか……？」

そう呟いたとき、奥の部屋で微かに光るものが目に入った。それは、今まで見たこともないほど妖しく輝く宝石だった。

「……なんだ、これは……」

手に取った瞬間、宝石は赤く、強く光り始める。

「え……？」

次の瞬間――

パキン、という乾いた音とともに宝石は砕け散った。

「ちっ……！」

落胆した彼だったが、違和感はすぐに別の形で現れた。彼自身の体が、赤い光を放ち始めていたのだ。

「な、なんだ……体が、熱い……！」

髪に触れると、色が抜け落ちるように白へと変わっていく。同時に、ゆっくりと髪が伸び、首元をくすぐった。

「冗談だろ……」

下腹部に、じわりとした熱がこもる。違和感はやがて収まり、彼は思わず息を呑んだ。

「……消えて、る……？」

続いて、今度は腰から背中にかけて熱が集まる。小さな違和感が尻の奥で芽生え、少しずつ形を持ち始める。

「くっ……変なのに……嫌じゃ、ない……？」

異様な感覚に戸惑いながらも、身体はそれを受け入れていく。ふと、周囲の音が遠のき――次の瞬間、音の位置が高くなった。

「……上？」

頭の上で、何かが揺れる感覚。気づけば、柔らかな大きな猫の耳が生えていた。

「は……？」

最後に、胸元がじんわりと重くなる。服の内側で、確かな膨らみが主張し始め、体の線がはっきりと変わっていく。鏡に映った姿を見て、彼は言葉を失った。

「……サフェル……？」

そこにいたのは、もはや盗人の男ではなかった。

『崩壊：スターレイル』のサフェル――その姿そのものだった。

「……戻れない、ってことか」

静かな夜の中、彼女は小さく息を吐く。その人生は、この夜を境に、確かに変わってしまったのだった。
