“Alright… I’ll stop here for today.”

Just as he was about to close the app—

Flash.

The screen erupted into a brilliant white-gold light, flooding his vision.

“W-Wait, what—!?”

His body felt weightless. Gravity vanished. Sound faded. His consciousness was pulled forward as if swallowed by the light.

And then—

When he opened his eyes, he was standing on a vast grassland, a gentle breeze brushing against his skin. The sky stretched endlessly blue above him, and in the distance stood the silhouette of a Statue of The Seven.

“…Is this a dream? No way… it’s way too real.”

As he stood there in confusion, a small figure hurried toward him.

“Ah, Traveler! There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!”

A familiar voice.

“…Paimon!?”

A character he had only ever seen on a screen was now floating right in front of him.

Panicking, he explained everything—that he wasn’t the Traveler, that he came from another world, and that he wanted to return home.

Paimon tilted her head, thought for a moment, then clapped her hands.

“Then let’s try asking the Statue of The Seven! Maybe its power can help!”

With no better option, he followed her and stood before the statue.

He clasped his hands together and prayed desperately.

—Please let me go back home.

The moment he finished—

Warm light flowed into his chest.

It felt as though light itself was coursing through his veins. His entire body grew gently hot, tingling from within.

“H-Hey… did anything happen? For now, let’s head to the town—”

Paimon stopped mid-sentence.

His legs suddenly gave out.

“Ugh…!”

“Hey! Are you okay!?”

Inside his body, something began to shift. Rearranging. Reshaping. His bones tingled, his senses sharpened.

His vision swayed. His breathing grew uneven.

“What… what’s happening to me!?”

His arms became slimmer, lighter. His balance changed. A strange sensation formed in his chest as his body gradually transformed.

“H-Hey… isn’t your hair getting longer!?”

Paimon stared in shock.

The hair that once barely reached his shoulders now flowed down his back, slowly changing color into a bright golden hue.

“…No way…”

He looked down.

Even his clothes were changing—white and blue fabric forming around his body.

A painfully familiar outfit.

—Lumine.

The exact appearance of the Traveler from the game.

“…So you really ARE the Traveler!?” Paimon said excitedly.

But his mind couldn’t keep up.

“This can’t be happening… I’m… I’m—”

Before he could finish—

The grass rustled.

“They’re coming!”

Bandits burst from the shadows and attacked all at once.

“Damn it—!”

A sword was suddenly in his hands. He raised it on instinct and fought back desperately. His body felt light. His movements were fast.

But there were too many enemies.

Wounds accumulated. His breathing grew ragged.

—This is it…

Just as despair filled his mind—

A sharp blade of water cut through the air, blocking the attack aimed at him.

“Heh… you’re really making a mess of things, aren’t you?”

Turning around, he saw a young man with a red scarf fluttering behind him.

—Tartaglia.

With a confident smile, he overwhelmed the bandits with terrifying ease.

When the battle ended, Tartaglia shrugged.

“Can you stand? You’re in no condition to stay here. I’ll take you to an inn.”

His consciousness faded as he weakly nodded.

Soft sheets.

The faint scent of medicine.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a dimly lit room at the inn.

His body ached, but he was alive.

He turned toward the mirror.

And his chest tightened.

Golden hair. The Traveler’s eyes. A reflection that wasn’t his own.

A tear slipped down his cheek.

“…I want to go home… but…”

His trembling fingers curled into a fist.

If this world was now his reality.

If this body was now his fate.

“…Then I’ll accept it.”

Outside the window, the stars of Teyvat quietly shone.

And so, he—now “Lumine”—silently gazed upon the beginning of his new destiny.【
